Summary: Great
Review: I purchased the boxed sety of yoga zone for my HUSBAND's Christmas gift, mostly because of lack of time he didn't start doing the yoga till 2 weeks ago. He asked me to join him and I couldn't believe how refreshed I was. He also had taken several yoga classes through the years and this was better that any of them!

Summary: This is an excellent series for beginners, but...
Review: I really like the way the Yoga Zone is laid out. The instructor is very good and I can swear he sees my mistakes and corrects me sometimes. He's very intuitive. My only complaint is that I outgrew these DVD's rather quickly and I'm looking for something more challenging.

Summary: New to Yoga? Not very flexible? This is for you!
Review: I started doing Yoga 3 years ago but I had to stop due to personal matters. I gained a lot of flexibility and inner peace in a short time. Now I live in Japan and I had NO idea where to take Yoga lessons so I decided to go with a DVD. I'm skeptical about getting "workout" videos because many of them are just phoney. But after reading the reviews of this pack, I knew I couldnt go wrong...and I didnt.
The asanas (poses) are definitely for begginers but they have their challenges and honestly, they arent very different than the asanas I was practicing before. The instructions are VERY clear, the instructor is great, he has a very "peaceful voice" and urges you to give your possible maximum. Another good thing about this series, is that they have 2 other YOga instructors who will perform the asanas, one in the way if you are more flexible and another in a modified way for those who are less flexible..and the great thing about it, they dont have an idiotic smile attached to their faces like many other models in other workout videos have. All of them look very peaceful and concentrated.
My reccomendation is, if you'll do it by yourself, to get a full length mirror so you can see yourself and prevent from doing the pose in a wrong way, also, if you'd like, get a cd with Yoga or Meditation music.
After the session, you will feel, serene, relaxed, at first a bit drowsy but then you'll feel a rush of energy come to you and in a short while, you will gain more flexibility and you'll be more in tune and in peace with the world around you.
Go for it! Namaste!

Summary: Love This Set!
Review: I started using this set of tapes about 2 years ago. At first I was very sporadic, but have recently started doing a tape 3-4 days a week. These tapes are wonderful for beginners. I've tried other yoga tapes and have been unable to keep up and to understand the directions. I am nowhere near the capability shown on the tapes, but am able to keep up. I hope to continue using this set for years as one of these days, I may actually be able to do all the exercises just as the yoga experts do! You do have to set aside an hour for each tape and that was the hard part for me at first. However, like other habits you just have to keep doing it.

Summary: Perfect for Beginners
Review: I was basically unfamiliar with yoga but sought to improve my flexibility and reduce the effects of stress with these tapes. The instructors do an excellent job by both demonstrating the moves and giving explicit verbal cues. The pace is perfect and you are finished before you know it. There are brief relaxation/meditation sessions at the end of the tapes which are the icing on the cake. These are some of the best fitness tapes I have ever used. You will not be disappointed.

Summary: Not happy
Review: I was so excited try this yoga set - due to all of the very positive reviews I had read here on this site. I am thoroughly disappointed though. I found it to be very difficult to follow along - I knew absolutely nothing about yoga and I felt the instructor did not familiarize me enough with the basics of yoga before beginning. I have to say too, the instructors heavy accent made it very difficult to follow this as well.
I can't recommend this to anyone - I am very disappointed.

Summary: Alan Finger is a wonderful instructor
Review: I'm a 47 year old male beginner, having bought this box set and also having gone to four classes at local Yoga Centers. Alan is so much better than the local instructors I've had here (in San Francisco). His voice is very calm and soothing. His instruction tells me how to move into the poses and tells me how to not hurt myself. He allows for someone like me who is not very flexable and tells us how to accomplish beginner poses very easily. The tapes are a very good value. You get a lot for your money. I've been through two of the tapes about four times and plan on using them once or twice a week for quite a long time. I feel very peaceful and relaxed after doing one of the tapes.

Summary: Fantastic Yoga tapes!!
Review: I'm a beginner at yoga, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this beginner box set. Alan Finger has a wonderful and thorough way of explaining the positions. You don't feel bored or watch the clock. His descriptions are clear and precise. He has a real calming effect on your nervous system. I highly recommend it to any beginner...
