Summary: Suspense and humor
Review: "The Alfred Hitchcock Collection" is a wonderful item which includes two of the bests films of his author, "Vertigo" and "Psycho", and a special edition of four chapters of the TV Serie "Alfred Hitchcock Presents".

"Vertigo" is a memorable film. Jimmy Stewart, Kim Novak and Barbara Bel Geddes create wonderful characters, in this typical catalogue of Hitchcock obsessions. Filmed in San Francisco, the film, romantic, melancholic, desperated, is based on a story by Boileau and Narcejac. It's a strange script, like a dream, a tragic and unhappy dream full of colour.

This DVD edition, in WIDESCREEN it's really wonderful, full of BONUS materials and with a extraordinary quality of image and sound.

"Psycho" is an empty film, a film without message or meaning, a art work which only looks for one thing: the entertainment. A masterpiece of the suspense (a common topic in Hitchcock's films), it has a lot of memorable scenes, and all of it is filmed exquisitely, with a wonderful photography in B & W. With an extraordinary technical quality.

"Alfred Hitchcock Presents" is the best jewel of this collection, the four best chapters of the best TV serie ever made, full of black humor and suspense. Once again, with excellent image quality.

Summary: Great films, great DVD
Review: Being a huge fan of Hitchcock's work, I consider this set a real treat. Vertigo, one of the truly great movies ever produced, and ,of course, Psycho make for treasured viewing. The package includes very well done written information on the films themselves, with quotes form the actors and others involved in the filming. The DVD's also have additional pieces on the making of each film, providing a lot of juicy stuff for the serious fan. The quality of the DVD's are, as they should be, excellent. And, of course, the selection of four Alfred Hitchcock Presents programs are really a treat, with terrific video and audio quality. The set is beautifully packaged and is a must for any lover of these films with DVD access.

Summary: Great...
Review: Ok tell me something better then having PSYCHO and Vertigo on DVD. The picture for the movies were unbelieveable. As clear as air. I can now reads billboards and signs in backgroung I never ever knew was there. And the sound... not a single crack in it. It like watching it for the first time...

PSYCHO... has to be the best movie ever made. I'm glad to see this movie finally in WIDESCREEN. The sound in 2.0, but it sounds great.

Vertigo... James Steward at his best. This restored version proves why it important to keep our older movies well intact. Since this movie has the best plot line ever. it would be terrible if we would of lost it. And this DVD is big glance into the mindeye of Mr. Hitchcock.

Those two movies are worth alone [worth] the [money] on amazon. But there more. The four shows of Hitchcock Presents. The sound and pictures was far more better then TV Land could ever show... (god bless TV Land for showing the classic)

Well all and all, each movie is great. Each DVD you will want to watch over and over to see the clues you missed. Buy this and you won't be sorry

Summary: Great set, but I need help!
Review: Psycho and Vertigo are both classic films and anyone who appreciates this genre should consider adding them to their collection. The additional disc of episodes from Alfred Hitchcock Presents are most entertaining as well. While the Psycho DVD case boasts the following features, they are not found on any of the menus on the DVD itself: Re-release trailers Newsreel Footage The Shower Scene: with and without music The Psycho archives Production Photos Behind the Scenes The Shower Scene: storyboards Lobby Cards Posters and Psycho adds Film Highlights Can anyone help me find these features? Thanks!
