Summary: Change of Heart
Review: Ok, so I previously gave Alias Season One a two-star rating. The plots were horrible.

However, I wrote the review before watching the 6th episode. Starting with this episode, the show improves dramatically. Perhaps they got a new writer?.......

Now my husband and I, who almost gave up on the series, watch 2 to 3 episodes every night. Each episode is well plotted, and the ending just leaves you hanging....

I have not given the show the full 5 stars because some plot details should be perfected. For example, what company keeps the same security code for 8 years? or how can you only dig 4 feet and find an underground cave which was built 500 years before?

But it is good entertainment, and the characters are well drawn.

Conclusion: 5 bad episodes in a series lasting now 3 years, can be overlooked. I'm glad I stuck it out.

A new Alias fan.

Summary: Wow is all that i can say
Review: Jennifer Garner is agent Sydney Bristow in this fast paced, exciting TV show on ABC. Syndey, a grad. student, thinks she is working for a covert branch of the CIA, called SD-6 as well as doing college. But when she tells her husband-to-be, Danny, the "CIA" has him killed. Then she finds out that SD-6 is not part of the CIA. They are part of an evil organization called The Alliance, and that she, and the rest of the people at SD-6,save a select group, have been tricked into believing that they are working for the CIA. Then she goes to the real CIA and becomes a double agent, and her CIA handler is Micheal Vaughn(Micheal Vartan). Her father(Victor Garber), whom she was never known very well, is also a double agent inside the CIA. Her mother is dead, and she never knew her father becasue he was always busy working at the "bank", the cover job that everyone at SD-6 uses.

Arvin Slone(Ron Rifkin) is the head of SD-6 and a leader of the Alliance. Sydney's father,Jack Bristow, was close friends with Arvin before he found out that he was and is a memeber of the Alliance. Sydney's two best friends, Will(Bradley Cooper) and Francie(Merrin Dungley) have no idea what is going on in Sydney's life, and that is a major plot point for Syd to have to lie to her friends about everything.

This show is spectacular, with tons of gadgets, lots of action, but also lots of drama as Syd deals with the death Danny, and also making up a whole other life to tell her friends. The show's main source of drama comes from Syd's and Vauhgn's romance that they cant pursue, for if they did, Arvin would find out and have them both killed. This show is a great show for everyone, adolecent boys can see Garner in all her tight dresses and outfits, teenage girls have the romance, and adults have the smart story-telling, well-done action, and cool gadgets.

This is the best show i have ever seen.

Summary: Never was but now am a definite fan of Alias
Review: Better late then never right?! Truth be told, I had never seen Alias before. Now with Alias into their third season and me just catching up through season 1 dvd I realize WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS TO NOT WATCH! This is by far the best show to come out in a long time!! It reminds me a lot of the early days of the X Files (minus the extra terrestial beings). This gripping on the edge of seat show throws in so many loops and turns that you'll never think twice about saying "Oh I know how this episode will end!". Terrific actors, great acting, interesting characters and superb writers makes me think that this show will be around for a long time!

Summary: What is all the hype about?
Review: I started watching Alias when it first came out on television and after 3 episodes stopped watching.

I decided to give it a second chance and bought the first season.
I am halfway through it and I am amazed at how so many people have given 5 stars to this show.

Yes there are many good elements but the end result is lacking. What are some of my complaints:

1. One thing I cannot stand is how Sydney Bristow always gets caught by the bad guys in the middle of a mission. This, of course, so that she can show how she can perform pre-Matrix moves without losing her wig.

2. Even when she doesn't need to wear a disguise and it would make more sense to hide her hair inside a ski hat. She is shown in Barbie fashion......

3. She always gets away, of course, but one never sees how she really got out of an impossible situation.

4. I cannot stand how the songs describe exactly what she's going through at the moment, as if we were not smart enough to figure it out without the music....was the original soundtrack like this or have they had to change the songs due to copyrights?

What do I like about the show? I like all the actors' performances, and I'm sure they could do even better with better plots. I especially like the budding relationship between Garner and Vartan's characters. I like the actor who plays Will and his role is well written and developed.

So I agree with the reviewer who said it was brain candy. But the type that will rot your teeth (read lowers your IQ) if you are gullible enough to accept it as great television.

Want great television? Watch "The West Wing", and in the same action genre "24". You will not be disappointed.

Summary: WARNING!!!!! Do not watch unless....
Review: ....you have set aside several hours of free time. Just about every episode ends with a shock, but half of the endings are also old-fashioned movie-matinee cliffhangers! And these cliffhangers are good enough that you won't be waiting until later to see how it unfolds. No, you'll click to play the next episode as fast as your sweaty little fingers will allow you.

The show is just that good.

Summary: Great DVDs - but am I missing something?
Review: Alias is a great show. I got hooked halfway through season 2, and was very thankful that season one came out on DVD. Take it too seriously and you may be disappointed; treat it as great entertainment and you'll have fun. A great mix of action, intrigue, and interesting characters.

One thing about the DVDs: I can't find the following extras
• "A Mission Around the World"
• Marshall Finkman's gadget gallery
• Auditions
Do I have defective DVDs, or am I just stupid? Is there some trick to accessing?

Summary: Alias-a truly astonishing show
Review: When this show first came out I had seen alot of previews for it and would have liked to watch it...but it was airing in the same time slot as The X Files which I wouldn't miss for anything. Since that time I heard much positivity about it and decided to buy it when it came out on DVD. I am forever glad I did, because it truly is one of the best shows I have ever seen. It has so much packed into it that I find it hard to believe there is not something for everyone to enjoy in this series. Do not be fooled by thinking it is just a spy show with a pretty girl who dresses in exotic outfits...it is so much more.

Alias will have you hooked already by watching it's first episode. It is very fast-paced and keeps you very much interested throughout. Every single episode of Alias will leave you eager to see the next one, and the episodes are tied together into one complex storyline with some nail-biting cliffhangers. This show not only has edge of your seat action, but along with it emotion and mystery. All of the characters are so well written and are very likable, even the villians. And for those looking for romance, Sydney and Vaughn have a great sexual tension between them which builts throughout the season. This is a show with incredible acting, smart writing, wonderful soundtrack, and enough plot-twists to keep you fully satisfied. The extras on this set are also pleasing, one of my favorites being the commentary from the whole main cast for the last episode. It is definately worth purchasing.

Summary: She Did A Bad, Bad Thing
Review: Alias is one hot show.
The story lines are fast paced, and very attractive
for a lot of viewers.
Sydney is a young college student,
who learns that she is really a double
agent from her father. Who she doesn't
really have the best relationship
with.
She learns this after her fiancé is killed
because she told him who she worked for.
When she wasn't supposed to.
Then things get really weird after her
supposedly dead mother.
Is acutely alive.
In season one . Stuff just starts to heat up.
Bumpy roads is just the begging of it all.

Summary: The most fun anyone could have on DVD
Review: Alias most definately ties in with the West Wing as my favorite television program, and is definitly worth being purchased on DVD. JJ Abrams is a genious when it comes to this show!

The first season starts off with the terrific premier "Truth Be Told" gives us the introduction to the incredible story to unfold, and the excitement does not stop as the show continues to progress. Besides the premier, I would have to say the best episodes of season one are the final three: "The Solution," "Rendezvous" and the finale "Almost 30 Years." In these episodes the plot comes to an astonishing climax and leaves the door open for season 2.

Interesting stories and characters along with excellent acting and directing makes this show a unique addition to the world of spy television.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I love Alias!!! I had never seen the show before I bought the first season box set and I've been hooked! The characters in the show are also awesome. I highly recommend this first season box set to anyone. You will not be disappointed! I thought this was an overall great show. I'm not even sure how I managed to never watch it on T.V. I love Jennifer Garner and I would marry Michael Vartan in a heartbeat. Alias is definitely for everyone -- not a chick T.V. show. Jennifer Garner is a kick-ass CIA agent.
