Summary: Hilarious! Frank Capra at his best!
Review: This film is one of director laureate Frank Capra's masterpieces. Cary Grant is superbly hilarious, and the supporting cast (including Raymond Massey and Peter Lorre) are outstanding.

Theatre critic and confirmed bachelor Mortimer Brewster has finally tied the knot and is about to set off on his honeymoon - he just wants to let his dear spinster aunts in on the news. That is where normality stops and the fun begins! Although a Halloween honeymoon is hardly normal, things only get odder - and funnier!

This classic film is for everyone - young and the young at heart. See it!

Summary: My favorite movie EVER
Review: This is the best movie I have ever seen! I LOVE Cary Grant and of all the movies I've seen him in, this is his best (yet purposely overdone) performance!

Summary: Marvelous!
Review: Two sweet little aunts, one crazy uncle and how many bodies in the Panama Canal? Arsenic and Old Lace is truly only of the funniest movies ever made. Cary Grant is wonderful as Mortimer. It doesn't matter that the basic concept is morbid. Grant and his fellow cast members are marvelous and leave you in "stitches" as the wicked brother and evil doctor come and go along with the neighborhood cop with a play he wants Mortimer to review!

Summary: SLIDE SPLITTING COMEDY JOY RIDE
Review: I just loved this movie. Cary Grant is at his funniest. What do you get when you mix two crazy aunts, a somewhat normal nephew, a dash of poison and a few other black sheep in the family? Answer: 12 bodies in the basement. See the movie for yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Summary: A Truly Funny Film
Review: Cary Grant role as a man trying find reality in a in a house where everyone lives in the own private world. And what is more funny as that his new wife is as unaware of the secrets that lies in the Brewster home just as the police and any lonely gentlemen that knocks on their down. Grant play the protective nephew in the film. And is relieved when he find out the "myth" to this family's madness.

Summary: Funny, charming, suspenseful!
Review: Cary Grant was a great comedian when he wanted to be, and this is one of his funniest! I was surprised, though, by the suspense of it, totally unexpected, but I loved it. It gave you suspense until you were scared to death, and then lightened the load by making you laugh. I recomend this one to any and every Cary Grant fan. --Carrie, age 18

Summary: Very funny!
Review: I when I first saw this movie in drama class, I don't think I ever laughed so hard in my life. I love the charactors, two "innocent" old ladies, a Teddy Roosevelt impersontator, an insane killer, a harried drama critic, and a cowering sergeon. Timing and plot are wonderful, and the man Mortimer was an amazing actor. If you want to see a film that will make you laugh time and time again, just get this one!

Summary: One of Frank Capra's best films - absolute comic genius!
Review: Arsenic and Old Lace is one of my all-time favorite films. Based on a Broadway play, the film is directed by the legendary Frank Capra and boasts an all-star cast, including Cary Grant as Mortimer Brewster, Peter Lorre as a less than distiguished plastic surgeon, and Raymond Massey as - BORIS KARLOFF. The timing in this screwball comedy is flawless, and Cary Grant's facial expressions are absolute hilarity. It's a movie the whole family can watch and laugh their socks off at. I'll say no more, I don't want to spoil it for you. Just go out, rent it, buy it, anything, just WATCH IT!!

Summary: The funniest filmed play in history
Review: The film is adapted from the a play, and retains some play-like quality -- and that's part of what makes it so great. Much of the humor depends upon listening to the dialogue, paying attention to it and engaging with the story. The acting is also impeccable: Cary Grant has a wonderful comic energy, and it comes through with electrifying clarity in this film. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes truly funny movies.
