Summary: To the Moon
Review: Despite the fact the DVD is not yet out, I would recommend you buy this DVD. Just for the TV show on it, Jackie Gleason and Art Carney are two actors who can never be replaced. The way they played off each other was amazing, I'm glad they are bringing this series (hopefully as much as possible of it) to DVD as all of them will be sitting on my shelf.

Summary: I couldn't agree with you more.
Review: I agree with everything that the first reviewer stated. Except one thing, mine won't be collecting dust on the shelf. It will definately be a regular watch for me.

I do hope that a nice box set of all episodes will be put out on DVD. That would be a nice opportunity to put the anniversary show on. And if they could get the european episodes that would be a really nice bonus.

Summary: BANG, ZOOM! I WISH THEY'D JUST STAY ON THE MOON!
Review: I am probably one of the few people on earth who hates the Honeymooners. To me, it was a tiresome cliche that was overextended. The lines people call classic are tired and got old fast. The worst of the mix was the dreaded "hommina." It sounded like a rude noise and was highly irritating.

The characters were cliche, cardboard cutouts. Ralphie Boy was a loudmouthed windbag, Alice was a sassy brat, Trixie was a sniveling, driveling dish rag and Norton was just plain annoying. He was like a mosquito you want to swat.

"The Honeymooners" was full of chauvinism and cliches. It just wasn't funny. The show was predictable and most of all, it was boring. I really don't like "The Honeymooners."

Summary: Bang! Zoom! I Wish They'd All Just STAY on the Moon!
Review: I hate the Honeymooners. I find the show downright stupid, boring and irritating. Trixie is a crybaby, Norton is a silly sewer man and Alice is a fresh mouthed brat. Good old Ralph Kramden, a.k.a. Reginald Van Gleason is a boring blowhard with a blustery loud mouth. I absolutely DETEST his darn "homminas" and think it is stupid and contributes nothing of value.

The Flinstones were the Honeymooners' cartoon counterparts and at least the Bedrock Bunch went out and did more things. The boring Honeymooners just vegetate in that hole in the wall, mouthing disgusting noises like "hommina" and tired, worn out lines.

I HATE THE HONEYMOONERS!

Summary: GOOD, NOT "THE VERY BEST OF..."
Review: I was disapointed with this DVD collection! Included are 3 clip collection segments, "Funniest Moments Vol. 1 & 2", "The Wit & Wisdom Of Ed Norton", and the full length episode "Letter To The Boss" Now, as a fan of the show, these characters, and actors who portray them I was entertained viewing this DVD. However, this does not represent the very best of the Honeymooners as the title states! A major part of the Funniest Moments bits include bloopers which in most cases they are not at their very best! I would suggest that anyone who is viewing "The Honeymooners" for the first time watch the "Original 39" episodes which are available on another collection. "The Very Best Of The Honeymooners" is best viewed by fans who have a knowledge of the history of the show and Jackie Gleason.

Summary: The Very Best of the Honeymooners
Review: It is a shame that the Generation X kids of today, truly
do not understand the genius of the Honeymooners, as the
reveiws before this one would indicate. This DVD is a
treasure to have, and the show will live on, revival after
revival. The quality is as expected, for the time made,
but still packs plenty of laughs, and some clips you may
never have seen before.

Summary: BANG, ZOOM! I WISH THEY'D JUST STAY ON THE MOON!
Review: The "Very Best of" is a only a snapshot. I wish there were more completed episodes included. ( ie. top 10 shows ). There was one weak episode. If you are a "Honeymooners" buff this will only wet your appetite for more. There is almost 2 hours of entertainment.

Summary: Classic TV Nostalgia
Review: These episodes are complete Classic works of art. They were new and inventive when they first came out. If you watch these episodes and try and compare them to the shows today they might seem 2 dimensional but, the opposite is the truth. When these shows came out they were controvertial and hilarious, as they are today. I happen to be a Gen x'er Iam 24 years old, and I love these episodes. It is sad that some mental patients out there have some problems with small details about this show like the phrase hmina but, thats their issue. In closing watch these episodes and keep that feeling of Nostalgia alive, These shows are what its all about. HAVING FUN. TO THE MOON !
