Summary: A Film before its time
Review: Having waited a number of years to see this film I was a bit dissapointed, not by the performance of Malcolm McDowell or anyone else in the film, but I expected more.In the 70's I can see why the violence and rape scene would be disturbing, but today they seem pretty tame.I'm not saying I didn't enjoy the film and will watch it again, but why is it not for sale in Britain.

Summary: BEST MOVIE OF THE 70's
Review: This is the #1 movie choice to buy or rent. The cruel antics displayed by Alex (main character) and the way he pays for his troubles are worth it!

Summary: Real Horror Show!!!
Review: A stunning and brilliant film. I especially liked Anthony Burgess' unique post-modern twist on the English language. This film in no way glorifies violence. If you don't mind a few disturbing scenes, then "A Clockwork Orange" is definitely a must see!

Summary: It's a Stain
Review: This movie was brilliant and wonderfully done. I was falling asleep before i watched it, and then when i started "viddying" it, i was up and awake. The cast was greatly done, and the similarities between the movie and the book are good. This movie is a stain, and it will not be removed from my mind. But, this is a stain i like!

Summary: A fantastic film...
Review: What can one say except that A Clockwork Orange is one of the best movies ever made.REAL HORRORSHOW. Those who say it 'glorifies' rape and violence haven't really understood the film. It's a shame that it has not been released in the UK so most people in this country can't see it.

Summary: Good adaption of the book but.....
Review: I think this is definately a great adaption of the book but I honestly believe that this is the type of movie you watch once and thats it. Strange is the best way to put it...if you are into strange movies and you like to watch them late at night when you cant go to sleep this one will put you to sleep...if not make you want to turn it off and count sheep instead.

Summary: The begining of the end.
Review: This movie put me in sublime the first time I saw it. I was only 12 but it was still cool. I recommend this movie to sane people and people who's minds are clear of everything. Not for someone mentally challenged-it may result in a brain filled with ultra-violence and leave you in a blob of phantasmagoric thoughts...This movie to me is showing us what this world is capable of and it's mostly disturbing and ominious.

Summary: Great Movie
Review: in response to the one guy who gave this movie 1 star and said it glorified rape, well, the movie left the last chapter of the book off because stanley kubrick used the american edition of the book, which didn't have the last chapter, and in the last chapter everything comes together, and alex ends up changing his ways, and realizing that his heroes (beetohven, etc.) were creating musical masterpieces and stuff when they were his age, he realizes that the way he has been living is stupid and immature, so he decides to change and look for a wife to settle down with, and he knows that his kids will do the same thing, and there is nothing you can do to teach them, you can only let them learn on their own. so, my point being that the person who wrote this(anthony burgess) was a very, very good author and didn't write the book just to glorify rape and violence. but to make a very touching point about youth and the government and society, etc. i thought it was a great movie, but the book is 100 times better.

Summary: A philosophical film
Review: This is one of the very rare films that is as good as the book. It explores the philosphical and moral dilemma we face in dealing with criminals. By making the main character Alex as loathsome and brutally amoral as possible, the film underscores the idea that the horrific "treatments" given to Alex and his like are deserved by no one, no matter how despicable.

The chief danger in this is that the violence and brutality displayed by Alex and his droogs are so vivid that the underlying message may be drowned out. Nevertheless, this is a compelling and thought-provoking film
