Summary: Like a Mad Magazine Bit Come to Life...
Review: ...if you can say film is life.

Whilst you ponder on that cunundrum, this Plastic Man Carey performance reminds me of all those great Will Elder parodies done for Mad magazine done a looooong time ago. (Especially his encounter with the croc..) The movie is simply roll on the floor, flat out hilarious. I doubt if Carey can ever be as funny. But, hey! What do I know? I don't make 20-25 mil per movie like he does. In my opinion, we could all use a lil more laughing around this joint, anyhoo. So, get in the comfy chair or plush sofa and kick your shoes off and prepare for serious chuckles. War? High taxes? 7 Horsemen? Blues?--Whatabout'em? How can you worry about all that jazz when we have movies like this?

Summary: Good but...
Review: ...in the first Ace was human-like. With emotions and he knew when to stop acting stupid. In this one he's a maniac. And it gets annoying. Some seriousness to him would heighten the rest of his wild, face pulling antics. Great joke with the monopoly guy though.

Summary: Average Carrey calls.
Review: A few funny moments, including the Jeep ride to the Embassy in which the Jeep spins through the air,and the famous "Rhino" scene. The Picture quality on this disc is excellent.

Summary: Ace Ventura II Review
Review: About as annoying as Austin Powers but not nearly as intelligent, this sequel was one of those movies that had people around you quoting it until it made you want to vommit. While there are about a handful of clever moments, there is so much about this movie that is just plain dumb. While I enjoyed the original, this sequel just goes for the obvious rather than trying to be creative.

Carrey returns as bumbling pet detective, Ace Ventura. After an animal accident that parodies "Cliffhanger", Ace joins up with some monks. After some rather dumb comedy that illustrates that the monks actually find him annoying (Not as much as I did), Ace is talked into going on a journey to Africa of all places.

Ace Ventura's second adventure is tired and predictable by about the fifteen-minute mark. The script is just a series of onbnoxious sound bites and cheesy visual gags. I guess if you are a real die-hard fan of Jim Carrey, you may like it but I would stick with "Dumb & Dumber".

Summary: LOW ON PLOT, HIGH ON JIM CARREY SHOWCASE
Review: Ace Ventura Pet Detective was not only laugh-out-loud funny, it also had a real plot for a film. This sequel sadly is simply a Jim Carrey showcase. Yes, there's a lot of wild-n-whacky -- "going down the temple steps", "rhino vehicle", "monkey and waterfall" etc had me heaving with laughter. But apart from a few scattered gags and funnies, there really is little here to grip you and have you laughing. Watch it in a relaxed, undemanding mood with a couple of friends...chat and laugh your way through it.

Summary: "This is a lovely room of death"
Review: Ace Ventura returns in this sequel. Ace (Carrey) is on the lookout for a white bat. This is before he was The Riddler in "Batman Forever" and helped his hatred of batman. Ace Ventura doesn't like bats as we find out as he tries to save Shikaka, the great white bat who has great white guano.

Summary: Classic Carrey!
Review: Ace Ventura was certainly a film that deserved a sequel. Ace Ventura 2 provides pleanty of opportunity for Jim to dispay his unique skill for causing chaos where ever he goes on his trip to Africa. If you liked the first Ace Ventura film you're bound to love this sequel. I'm impressed with Jim's performance but as a film, the story line hasn't been driven to heights of genius.
