Summary: ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!
Review: I watched this movie for the first time a few days ago. My mom insisted that i watch it. I had no idea what the heck it was about and i thought it was just so darn funny. I loved his brother who thought he was Teddy Roosevelt lol. So if you haven't seen this movie please watch it even though it's old. You won't regret it.

Summary: the best movie ever made
Review: as far as i and my family are concerned, this is the very best movie ever made! i have seen this,i don"t know how many times, and it still is just as good as the first time, every time. carey grant plays a wonderfully confused man, who really doesn't know what to do about his family. they have all gone from odd to completely looney. be sure you can sit down and watch the whole thing through, however.it would be very hard to follow if you don't.i have enjoyed watching this movie for the past 25 years.i can and do advise people to rent or buy it or steal it if they have to- it's that good

Summary: "Charge!" cries Teddy Roosevelt
Review: What a delightful movie. As always, Cary Grant is his own inimitable self, funny, engaging, handsome and employing his unique comedic gift. Cary manages to steal nearly every movie he has ever appeared in, but he is given a run for his money here by John Alexander, who delivers an hilarious performance as Theodore Roosevelt. Not only does Alexander bear a strong resemblance to Teddy, his dialogue and behavior are simply hilarious.

Though a bit dated in places, this movie is sure to delight movie lovers of all ages. It's suitable for the children, who will get a kick out of the plot, but sophisticated enough for adults as well. Enjoy!

Summary: One of the Funniest Films of All Time
Review: I had never heard of this film before I watched AFI's best actors list. I had always been a huge fan of Cary Grant ,but being 22 I had not seen all of them. From Gunga Din, Bringing Up Baby, North by Northwest, to The Philadelphia Story, I had always been an admirer of his comedic and distinguished acting ability. When it came time to show Cary Grant's films, they showed a clip from Arsenic and Old Lace. The part where he discovers the body in the window cabinet and I just cracked up for hours. I had to see the rest of this movie and finally caught it on AMC late one night. The rest of the movie fit the clip and I thought this was one of the most brilliant screw-ball comedies I had ever seen and I has moved to the top 5 of my Comedy list permenently. The crazy brother, the killer brother, and the sweet old ladies who don't know they're killers are hilarious. One of the best running gags in the film, that I noticed no one mentioned, is the TAXI DRIVER waiting outside the whole movie. I mean the willingness to stay out there and the rude lines they give back to him are priceless. My whole generation should see this movie to find something funny and intelligent past "There's Something About Mary."

Summary: Men don't just crawl into a window seat and die!
Review: The American Film Institute rightly placed this film amongst its 100 funniest films of all time and rightly so. The look on Cary Grant's face when he lifts up that window seat is priceless, and as he desperately tries to hold on to some vestige of sanity when he's surrounded by lunatics is divinely inspired. This movie is a must see--even if you HATE old movies, watch this one! You won't be sorry.

Summary: A classic!
Review: This is absolutely one of the most entertaining, side-splitting movies that i have ever seen. At the present time that I wrote this review, I was 18, therefore very young to know anything about vintage Hollywood. I mean the REAL Hollywood. About a few months back, still in high school, more specifically in my English class, our teacher gave us a few days off to watch this movie. I felt we were being forced to watch some old movie garbage to satisfy her needs of 'exposing us young kids to classic silverscreen films.' Well bein a movie and having a few days off, i reluctantly sat and watched what i had no idea would be the most funny movie/story i had ever seen. Being a black comedy and in Black and White Color, added to the unique panache of this wonderful movie. I even understand that Cary Grant received a well deserved Oscar nomination. Ingeniously written and flowing constantly without any slow moments, this movie has made me more appreciative of classic films back in the good old days when movies were made intently to tell a good story outlined with witty plots and lovable characters. Even the 'bad guys', got sympathy from me once in a while. In general if you want a good laugh or a good ol entertainin' night on the sofa, watch this movie!

Summary: Comedic Classic
Review: I'll keep this short and sweet:

This movie is a classic black comedy and a great Cary Grant film. It's a definite must-see.

Summary: Hilariously Funny!
Review: This has to be one of the funniest films I've ever seen. It's a great movie for halloween or any time for that matter. No matter how many times I've seen Raymond Massey come through the curtain, I always jump. This movie is one of Cary Grant's best. I would recommend to anyone.

Summary: Every time I watch it--I laugh.
Review: Some people say that the play may have looked better on stage. Cary Grant may not have been the best Mortimer Brewster, but we will never know that for sure. However, we do have this wonderful film that will live on forever for anyone who enjoys a dark comedy that is smart and witty.
The film has three of the original Broadway cast members.

There are so many memorable lines and scenes!
I especially enjoyed Peter Lorre's performance as the infamous European doctor-the "Heidelberg man".
Everyone's body language is absolutely hilarous.

A&OL is one of those rare comedies that you can watch over and over again and still enjoy it, even though you know the plot and the ending.

WORD OF CAUTION: Black&White version works much better. I have seen the colorized version and-for me-color destroyed that wonderfully gruesome atmosphere and spoiled all the fun.
