Summary: Big Business
Review: My daughter and I thought this was a funny and clean movie to watch together as a family.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: 3 Stars, which should be 5. But disney is apparently cheap!
Review: No extras on a DVD. Especially a film so loved with a countless cult following. I would like to ask that people not buy this and write or e-mail disney as to why that decision was made, I already have. Maybe some good will come of it. As for the movie, well I of course love it. Isn't that obvious?

Summary: I wanna say things like, KEEP THE CHANGE!!!
Review: One set of twins (Lily Tomlin) born to West Virginians gets separated with other set of twins (Bette Midler) born to NYC snobs. Yes, no one noticed the obvious hair color differences but it really doesn't matter. Both Tomlin and Midler go relentless getting laughs and it does work great. Especially the displaced country Bette Midler (who was supposed to grow up rich) and the country Lily Tomlin (who is where she is supposed to be). So many lines that you'll find yourself repeating them and the ending is such a great sight gag. Hopefully this will be available again and on DVD at that? Oh my god, it's me with a bad haircut.

Summary: Great to rent!
Review: So there's nothing on TV except reruns? Your husband wants to watch football and you hate football, so you go to the video rental to pick out a movie to watch on the spare TV in the bedroom? Hey, I've been there, done that. Now it's time, if you haven't already, to rent a blockbuster funny movie: Big Business with Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin.

When a rich couple have to have their twin girls in a small town, all kinds of madcap comedy starts to happen. First, the kids get mixed up. The rich couple is supposed to have two Bette Midlers, if you can believe it. And the poor folks are suppose to have two Lily Tomlins. But each couple gets one of each. And to make matters even funnier, both Lily's are named Rose and both Bette's are named Sadie. Each Sadie has a different personality. Each Rose has a different personality. Where do I begin?

The poor folks Sadie is a cow milkin', sweet singin' kind of gal who yodels and has lots of fun.

The rich folks Sadie is head of the family business now that her mom and dad are dead, and she thinks she's hot stuff. She's all stuck up and full of herself.

But, when poor Sadie visits New York, she has a lot in common with rich Sadie. They both like the same kinds of clothes, and like to eat the same things.

Poor Rose is Lily Tomlin at her best as a brash, life ain't gonna stop her kind of gal. Rich Rose is Lily Tomlin as an accident getting ready to happen. Poor Rose lets all her attitude hang out, and says just what she's thinking. Rich Rose cowers behind rich sister Sadie.

But when they all get together, the fun really begins, as ex-spouses and boyfriends find out they are attracted to Sadie, but it's the other Sadie they're really interested in. Same way with Rose. Country hick Fred Ward finds out he's really crazy about rich Rose.

This is a really cool movie, and I'm sure it's better than that old footbal game your husband is watching. So get hop, hop, hoppin' to your nearest video store and rent it. I'd say to buy it, but it's currently not available.

Summary: Soaps In The Shapes Of Swans...Could You Die?
Review: Special thanks to Touchstone/Disney for finally releasing one of the BEST movies of all time on DVD! (Yes, I am talking about "Big Business") Lilly and Bette have an onscreen magic that I would love to see again in another movie. (Maybe "Big Business II?") Wishful thinking on my part.

This movie is filled with quotes that me and my good buddies Frank and Jake repeat over and over. 1/2 of our conversations and daily dialect somehow involve lines from Big Business. I have always wondered if there any other people out there that are as twisted as we are! Some favorites lines:

Sadie Ratliff: "For once in my life I'm gonna be Joan Collins, and your not gonna stop me."

Sadie Shelton: "I don't see how is it that you, my own sister, can stuff your face and nothing happens and I subsist on 60 calories a day or else blow up like a Macy's Day float!"

Judy: "Hi Rose, how's Duke doing?"
Rose Ratliff: "Duke!? My Dog? Boy, when you go snoopin' into people's lives, you don't miss a trick, do you?"

Office Workers: "Hi Rose"
Rose Ratliff: "Oh, hi, hi everyone. Just fine, had a good breakfast, oatmeal, but I guess you know that. Got on my Tuesday panties, but I guess you know that too."

Sadie Ratliff: "I got to get me some of those press-on nails. Do those things stay on? I wouldn't want em floppin off in any of those fancy nightclubs."

Dr Jay: "Rose I've been doing a lot of thinking and we can fix this."
Rose Ratliff: "Fix what? Oh, you're Sly."
Dr Jay: "Sly? I couldn't be more sincere"

Small child: "What's a cow plop mommie?"

Rose Shelton: "I hate my job... I hate shopping... I hate New York in June. How about you?"

Sadie Ratliff: "I hate grits. And I hate men who smell like beer and bean dip...and makin' love in the back of recreational vehicles!"

I could go on and on, but will stop here before I quote the whole movie. The fun of Big Business is endless. Be sure to buy this DVD, you won't be sorry you did!

Summary: Cute, but confusing movie.
Review: The other reviews pretty much sum my review up, except for the end... Kind of makes you wonder WHICH one was switched at birth!?!?

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: good fun - well worth buying
Review: This is a cute movie, with excellent double performances by the very funny Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler. The Bette Midler "mirror" scene where she meets her twin is a classic, in the best Lucille Ball tradition. The guest stars are strong as well, especially John Vickery as the suave and long-suffering hotel manager. It's a movie that holds up to multiple viewings.

Summary: My God, it's me with a bad haircut!
Review: This is a true modern classic. A defining moment in "the golden age of Touchstone." A movie that can be watched over and over again and be just as hysterical each time.
