Summary: Blah!
Review: Good God! What kind of morons would a movie about passing a dead guy around? These morons! This thing is dumb! This is the worst movie in the history of the motion picture! I have seen droppings better than this movie! Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Why,this thing isn't even worthy of negative numbers! It makes me sick! ... that's all. Good bye.

Summary: THE FUNNIEST MOVIE EVER MADE!!!
Review: I admit it. My opinion regarding this movie is shared only by my best friend. Still, I am proud to say that no movie has ever made me laugh like this one. What's so great, you ask? The otherwise unremarkable Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman work incredibly well together as a couple of low-level employees who stumble onto a million dollar corperate insurance scam, and as a reward are invited to spend the weekend at his beautiful house on the beach. Of course they are unaware that Bernie (their boss) is scamming the company and plans to put the blame on them. Then, as they say in showbiz, wackyness ensues.

Seriously, McCarthy and Silverman are, for my money, THE GREATEST COMEDIC DUO IN THE HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD. They play so well off of each other that is is a joy to watch. Truly, it is sad that these two didn't receive more attention for their brilliant performances.

Summary: A damn site funnier than you would expect!!
Review: I agree with the other guy who reviewed this movie. W@B is, if you actually are brave enough to watch it, one of the funniest movies you will ever see. Most people who like this film give all the credit to Terry Kiser, who plays the dead guy. Don't overlook Jonathan Silverman & Andrew McCarthy! As far as I'm concerned, McCarthy should have won an Oscar for his hilarious performance as a reprehensible, lazy fool. The two aforementioned actors play very well off each other and have an astonishing grasp for each other's timing (an essential element to any great comedy). So go ahead and watch this movie. It is truly a diamond in the rough.

Summary: "Can't you see he's dead?"
Review: I got this movie as a birthday gift from my ladyfriend. As I'd never seen it before, I asked her why she chose it. She said she thought it was a favorite of mine, as my friends and I referred to it a lot. While true, we weren't discussing the plot; just how my friend George looks a lot like Bernie when he's passed out. Anyway, one morning while I was nursing a nasty hangover, I deemed myself in the proper state to handle this movie.

To quote Elaine from "Seinfeld," "This is so stupid! Bernie is dead! Just because you put a hat on him isn't going to make him less dead!" This movie is awful. I love 80s comedies - heck, I consider "Bachelor Party" Tom Hanks's best work (just read my review) and eagerly await the next installment of "Police Academy" - but this movie is miserable. The only times I laughed while watching "Weekend at Bernie's" it was at my ladyfriend for actually finding something humorous in the movie.

My friend Dan, knowing of my disdain for "Weekend at Bernie's," got me "Weekend at Bernie's II" (it's voodoo, baby, voodoo). Expect my review of that film to be posted a day or so after the next time I decide to wash down some vodka and Gatorade with a hurricane.

Summary: It was okay...funny, but lagging in a few scenes.
Review: I liked some of the funny skits that they encountered, but there was too much of a pause in humor between scenes. Overall it was well worth seeing and worth the time to see it. Just be prepared to laugh and wait a while to do it.

Summary: Weekend at Bernie's......
Review: I remembered seeing this movie years ago so, when I saw it to buy at our local Wally-World(Wal-Mart, to all those who don't know), I thought I'd get it and watch it all over again. I got to tell you, this movie is more hilarious than I ever remembered it ever being. I, literally, laughed the whole way through. To the point where those watching it with me were annoyed by my laughter. Once you get past its' dark but wacky plot(in which two clerks at an insurance agency uncover a $2 million fraud and report it to their boss who happens to be behind the fraud. Bernie invites them to his home for the weekend with the intentions of getting them killed by the mob but the mob has plans to have him killed. Once the task is done, the clerks arrive and find Bernie dead. At first they panic and start to call the police, but when a party of islanders sweeps in, Richard and Larry discover that the local residents are so self-absorbed they don't notice that Bernie is dead. If they can just convince everyone that Bernie is still alive for they weekend, they can have a splendid time. Unfortunately, they also convince the mob hitman, who keeps trying to take Bernie out and that's where the hilarity ensues), you'll see alot to like about Weekend at Bernies. Thing is, if you're the type that takes this movie a lil more seriously than you should- you're just not going to get it. Just accept it for the wacky film that it is and you'll have a blast.
What gets me the most is how Terry Kiser can keep such a straight face during the whole thing. I think that is what made me laugh more than anything. If I were him doing the acting, I would've been cracking up the whole time.
At any rate, Weekend at Bernie's is good(albeit dark)fun.
