Summary: Walter Mitty needs to get a life!
Review: After reading this book I wonder how many of us lead a private life similar to that of Walter Mitty's. It is great eye opener. Perhaps there should be a Walter Mitty Fan Club - their motto might be: Don't worry if you feel that you have just passed up on the opportunity of a lifetime: there will be many more opportunities of a lifetime to pass up on in the future. There is a place and time for dreams, and there is a place and time for action. This book is valuable in that it may spur the reader who is currently just a DREAMER on to take ACTION when they know they are ready to do so. END

Summary: A Showcase for Kaye's Versatility
Review: Danny Kaye plays Walter Mitty, a meek, unassertive man who wants to be more than he is. He reads, edits, and writes adventure magazines and, when he daydreams (often), he becomes the hero in these stories. Throughout the movie, Kaye plays numerous parts, and is exceedingly good at that. This film is an excellent showcase for the talents and versatility of Danny Kaye, who was one of our finest comedic actors. It's also thoroughly entertaining. Oh, and, by the way, Kaye's character gets entwined in a real-life murder-and-robbery plot during the story, but no one believes him because of his frequent daydreaming and wild stories. He eventually gets to be the real hero, instead of the imaginary one.

Yes, there is a difference !

As for the movie, this performance, along with The Court Jester and Knock on Wood (not on DVD or VHS yet) is a real Danny Kaye masterpiece ! Amusing, heart-warming and entertaining.

A must for every Kaye-fan !

Summary: What A Great Movie
Review: I happen to have gotten a copy of this movie which is the same editino pictured. I love Walter mitty and don't see why it isn't on DVD. Even though HBO did put it on DVD it was only on the market for 6 months than it was off the market. And now you have to pay a whomping fee just to get a DVD of it. The lowest price I have seen ws $215.00 Which is an outrage. This is a hilarious comedy with Danny Kaye.

Summary: The Best of Danny Kaye's work!
Review: I have seen The Secret Life of Walter Mitty once, but that was all it took for me to love it. The girl he played opposite was fantastic, and had worked with him before in various other movies. Kaye's character in this movie had some pretty wild day-dreams, and sometimes those day dreams got him into trouble. When the girl of those dreams came into his real world, it was funny to watch how he dealt with it. Kaye's talent for singing, and the bar scene in which he played the pilot and pretended to be his old high school teacher, I thought it was the best part of the movie. Any one can love the way that Kaye loves and sometimes loses, and the way he handles it. He was the best actor/singer Hollywood ever had (and needs more like him!!!!), and this is certainly his best movie.

Review: I really enjoy this Danny Kaye film and would give it more starsif I could! It is very entertaining and funny.Virginia Mayo and Danny Kaye make a wonderful couple in it and it's very romantic and lovely to watch, with great costumes also and is very funny and enchanting as well. It's a film for children as well, the entire family would enjoy it. Danny Kaye is one of the best comedines ever. This is a must see film. They don't make them like this anymore. Such innocent fun and old fashioned romance.

Summary: Thanks to my English teacher!
Review: If this can happen to me, a freshman, it can happen to you. "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" is one great movie that I suggest every cynical person out there should sit down and watch. Mr. Kaye is hillarious and he'll make you a believer. I never thought that anyone was as funny as Ryan Stiles (one of my favorite actors), as talented as Mark Hamill (another favorite), and as lovable as Michael J. Fox (another favorite). The best number in this movie is...well, which could I choose from? I'd have to say that the scene where Mr. Kaye is imitating an old teacher of his. It got my class laughing...tell your kids to watch this movie. The younger ones may not get it, but you should still let them watch it. To this day, every time I read my Walter Mitty story in my reading book, I always think of my research teacher saying, "So, how's Walter Mitty doing?" I have to get this movie for my friends to see!

Summary: Three Cheers for Danny Kaye
Review: If you ever need movies to be cheered up run out and add The Secret Life and Wonder Man to your collection. He had a rare and wonderful comedic talent which hasnt been matched since. His timing was excellent and so are these two movies.
