Rating: Summary: It's good to watch Mel Brooks Review: Some dumb jokes? Naturally!!!! It's typical Mel Brooks ... go for a million jokes and hope a few thousand hit. And they definitely do. The film is based on history, but, believe me, you don't need to know all kinds of details to appreciate it. (If you can't get it, you obviously never passed history in school). Yes, some of it's in bad taste, even offensive in spots and couldn't (unfortunately) be made today without being scissored to death. But it's still laugh-out-loud funny, bottom line. No depth, no comment, just a damn funny film. No, not up there w/Young Frank, but that's OK; it WILL make you laugh. This is a film that hardly stinks on ice.
WARNING!!!! Several other "reviewers" here have revealed their complete ignorance of what "review" means and have given away several details that could easily spoil the movie if you haven't seen it.
