Summary: An excellent excellent movie!
Review: Hey everyone. I'm here to tell you this: I saw this movie about a year ago (it's September of 2004 now) for the first time. When I first saw it, I had to see it for a class I was taking. And usually I'm quite disappointed with the movies assigned in classes these days. For the first 20 or 30 minutes, I thought Working Girl was going to be another boring movie.
However, as time went on, it not only grew on me, but I found myself watching parts of it over and over again (especially the music parts - excellent songs!) before I'd even finished the movie entirely. The heroine is an excellent actress for this part - she's sweet and has big dreams, and that makes it extra special because she's just a low-level worker with a lot of knowledge.
Villains! Sigourney Weaver does a fantastic job being someone the viewer will detest by the middle of the movie, and soon disdain will turn into anger. Harrison Ford does his part very well too. 'Mr.Trask' is very well played by the actor doing his role. Acting is very good in this movie.
What strikes the viewer most is how emotional he will get while watching this film. I found myself crying on more than one occasion and it's just a very good movie! I really feel this film should have won a few oscars - it's that good.
If you haven't seen this movie - SEE THIS MOVIE TOMORROW! I'm quite serious good chaps. Working Girl is in the same class as 'Ben-Hur', 'Doctor Zhivago', 'Who Shot Liberty Valence', 'The Guns of Naverrone', 'Dances With Wolves', 'Ladyhawke', 'The Great Race', 'Excalibur', and 'The Pink Panther' series. As you can see, I like a gamut of movie types and most of them are from the older styles (pre-1992). Being 24 years old myself, I was born in that period where western films were 'not so good, not so bad'. However, I can assure you of this: Movie quality has definitely gone down since the early '90s. An example of this: Batman (1989) was an excellent action movie, though not a classic by any measure. Nevertheless, as an action film it excelled, while nowdays, it's hard to get anything of Batman's calibre!
WORKING GIRL is an excellent family movie, to watch with friends, or to just view alone. I guarantee you will like it if your taste is anything like mine. So far, everyone I have shown it to agrees it's VERY GOOD. I hope the audience will do me and itself a favour by seeing it :)

Summary: The only Melanie Griffith film worth seeing!
Review: Melanie Griffith usually annoys the crap out of me, but she's really good in this film, playing the part of a smart woman who is stuck in a secretary's job and gets a golden opportunity to strut her stuff in the corporate world when her successful (and bitchy) boss is out of town. Even though women have come a long way in the business world since 1988, we still have a long way to go, and I think all women will identify with the character of Tess and the stereotypes she fights so hard to overcome.
Griffith is great in the film, and so is Sigourney Weaver, who plays the evil boss. However, the real stars of this movie are Harrison Forsd, who is dazzling and witty in his charming role, and Joan Cusack, who plays Griffith's best friend. (Actually, the REAL star of the film is Cusack's eye makeup. MY GOD, did women actually wear their faces that way sixteen years ago?! And the HAIR! I've never seen so much big hair in one movie!)

Summary: Delightful
Review: This is another wonderful film from the '80s. Sometimes unbelievable but then again movies are a form of escapism and this is a perfect example of that. Some here have stated their slight dissatisfaction with Griffith, but Griffith's character was supposed to be the way she portrayed it. She wasn't supposed to sound or behave like the end result or else the whole plot wouldn't work. She was the everyday woman who could be in high-society but other factors (like those portrayed in the film) kept holding her back. It was a pleasure to have seen this in the theater way back then and it still has the same effect on me even on the small tube.

Summary: Don't miss this one...
Review: In my opinion, the main drawback of the film was that Melanie Griffith gave a performance that was too breathy, and sometimes it was annoying to hear her speak. This is not to say that her acting wasn't good - she was able to bring the right amount of spunk and vulnerability to her role.Harrison Ford is wonderful here, witty and charming - this is not a role you usually see him in. And Sigourney Weaver is delightfully wicked. There are many moving moments in the film, as well as humorous ones, and you'll quickly be drawn into the story of the hard-working, ambitious secretary who aims for a bigger job, and gets herself a fine man in the process.

Summary: Wonderful feel good movie
Review: I love this movie!!! It shows the dog eat dog world of business. Melanie Griffith plays a secretary who wants a better position. She gets a new job with a female boss (Sigourney Weaver) and finally thinks things are looking up. Until she realizes her boss stole an idea of hers and is taking the credit. She ends up doing everything possible to secure a big deal and falls in love with Harrison Ford's character. This is such a touching movie. The girl gets the guy, and she gets the great job opportunity she really wants. The ending is what I like the most. When she tells her new secretary, don't get me coffee unless you get some for yourself too.

Summary: A wonderful script and story
Review: I would give it five stars if not for my bias against Melanie Griffith. Her constant throat-clearing and baby voice drives me to distraction. Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver and Joan Cusack are fantastic, however, and Carly Simon's "Let the River Run" deserved the Oscar.
