Summary: Better Than Runaway Bride - As Good as Notting Hill
Review: Most romantic comedies aren't really funny. This one is definitely an exception. There were lots of belly-laughs in the theatre!

The cast was a good mix of actors. Maybe I didn't pay too close attention to the trailers, but I was surprised to see Billy Crystal (who wrote the screenplay and co-produced), Christopher Walken, and Hank Azaria.

Lots of expected chuckles mixed with a lot of unique chuckles and a happy ending, make this a great date or weekend matinee movie.

Summary: An amazing cast
Review: This highly-anticipated film brought laughter to big audiences Friday, July 20th. With comedy and romance, any audience will find itself enjoying "America's Sweethearts" starring Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Billy Crystal, and John Cusack.

Shot from an interesting perspective, director Joe Roth shows audiences life from an actress's point of view. However, this time, Catherine Zeta-Jones ("Entrapment") plays this actress, instead of Julia Roberts, who played the mentioned role in "Notting Hill."

With comedy and romance, performances by an excellent cast were helped with notable camera angles, cinematography, directing, and lighting - not to mention the dialogue. Though this is not Academy Award winner Julia's best work, it is definitely one of her best performances and a rather notable one at that.

Go watch "America's Sweethearts" today. It's worth it.

Summary: Catherine the Great
Review: At last a movie that shows not only what a great comedienne Catherine Zeta-Jones is, but who the REAL Pretty Woman is. .... Watch her blossoming career explode! The film's farce is lively and fun.

Summary: Crystal Comedy Sparkles
Review: Billy Crystal writes, produces and stars in a "boy-loses-girl", "boy-gets-girl" tale with a twist or two along the way. Crystal plays Lee the publicist sent to placate the media with a "junket" and get separated "American Sweethearts" Gwen Harrison (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Eddie Thomas (John Cusack) back together again. Gwen is the self-centered movie star sister with a Spanish live-in lover with a lisp, Hector, played by Hank Azaria. Eddie is the soon to be ex-husband who has spent the last six months with his East Indian guru, Alan Arkin, getting over being betrayed. Julia Roberts as sweet sister Kiki is Gwen's personal assistant who also happens to be in love with her brother-in-law. Can you imagine a fat Julia Roberts? Flashbacks show us Kiki before she slimmed down. A great cast that also includes Christopher Walken in a pivotal bit part and a cameo appearance by Larry King. Great fun!!

Summary: Laughed out loud
Review: I really enjoyed this funny movie last nite. Very entertaining and hilarious. Fast moving mixed with many stars from the Doctor in the mountains to the beautiful Catherine and Julia. The ex- husband was very good and the boy friend very funny with his accent.

Summary: Just plain fun
Review: Forget about the romance, this is a great comedy. Billy Crystal steals the show with his wonderful humor and timing. The theatre crowd cheered, clapped and laughed throughout. It was just plain fun to watch.

Summary: America's sweethearts
Review: The movie was a good summer love story but not a great movie. Julia is amazing due to the fact that she played the self-effacing sister of Catherine Zeta-Jones and allowed herself to be playing second fiddle to Catherine. Only a star of Julia's quality could play such a part. However, Julia played better roles in past movies. I knew this movie would not be too good because they are using her too much. She has been so believeable in Erin, Nottinghill, Runaway bride but this was just like a Broadway play. Billy Crystal was good. Catherine and Arquette were very good. I love Julia and will go to all her movies. I think the movie is overrated but glad I saw it. Go see Julia fat. Have fun. We love you Julia. You are great.

Review: Amazing what you can do with big stars. Fill the seats and produce a bad movie. The trailer was much better than this 90 minute movie

Summary: America's Sweethearts
Review: This seemed like more of a fun project for Billy Crystal than a huge success as a movie. I never saw any "what a great movie" expressions on the other people leaving the movie theater. As for me, I go to the movies OFTEN and the way I judge a movie is if I will go to the theater and pay to see it again. I've seen many Julia Roberts' films twice or more at the theater. This is not one of them. To me, Julia is not believable in a "loser" or "second fiddle" role even if she does get the guy in the end. She is just too special.

Catherine Zeta-Jones' part was probably the most fun to play and and I think she did a great job. But as a Julia Roberts' fan, I didn't like the idea of CZJ being placed in a more glamorous role, even if she was shallow and silly. I wouldn't have liked Julia in the other role either. In my opinion, Julia should have passed on this one. She can handle the real roles. I'll be waiting for the next one, Julia.
