Summary: Seattle Sneak Preview Experience
Review: I went to see this movie last night at one of the Seattle Sneak Preview venues. I have to say that this was the best film I had seen in a long time.

Joe (Bruce Willis) and Terry (Billy Bob Thornton) are convicts in the Oregon State Prison. On the spur of the moment Joe decides to hijack a cement truck and make good his escape. Terry, a certifiable hypochondriac, goes along for the ride. These two bank robbers become endearing figures to the audiance as they wreck havoc from Oregon, through Nevada into California. Kate (Cate Blanchett) joins up with them as a permanent hostage while she tries to escape her boring life and marriage.

This movie is incredibly funny and quirky and I rate it a must see for Bruce Willis fans. (p.s. there is some similarity between the comedic style and main character [Bruce] in this film and the film classic "The Hudson Hawk", also starring Bruce Willis!)

I also must mention an cameo apperance by the ever lovely KTLA Sky Cam reporter, Jennifer York. She is only on screen for 10 seconds, but she does add a bit of grace to the film.

Summary: ORIGINAL, CLEVER, QUIRKY COMEDY
Review: Don't listen to the other reviewers. You seldom go wrong with Bruce Willis, especially if Billy Bob and Cate Blanchett are factored into the equation. Actors aside, the multi-layed flashbacks of the script are thrilling and clever, with a doozy scenario of the suavest outlaws you've seen in a while.

The romance (triangular, no less) is interesting and the dialogue sports several quotable quips. 75% into the movie, the romance dragged for a 5-6 minutes, but that is forgiveable.

Oh, and the soundtrack is marvellous. Get this one as soon as you can.

Summary: Both funny and entertaining
Review: Joe (Bruce Willis) and Terry (Billy Bob Thornton) are too funny as they become known as the 'sleepover bandits', a name given to them based on their popularity--robbing banks. "Bandits" a funny comedy that keeps you watching till the very end.

This is also one of the best endings to a movie I've seen in a while. I'm certainly not going to spoil the ending for you, but I will say it's great. And it's not just the end that's great. The entire movie is very entertaining. Most people don't associate Bruce Willis with comedy yet he is very good at it. Just look at "The Whole Nine Yards". Anyway, Cate Blanchett co-stars with the two bank robbers as she toys with both of their emotions. Something that carries on until that very special ending I've talking about. If you don't like the ending you must have missed something during the movie, because it's tremendous.

This movie never really made it big time, but it's good enough to watch. I recommend it to anyone who either likes Willis, Thornton, or a greatly entertaining comedy film.

Summary: Entertaining, though it loses momentum
Review: This movie was worth it just to see Bruce Willis portray his charcter so convincingly. In fact, he seems so connected to it that it's almost as if he is not acting. The same is true to a lesser degree with Billy Bob Thornton, whose hypochondria is amusing at first, but becomes a bit tiresome. Cate Blanchett, on the other hand, is very impressive in the way she develops her character from an unhappy and repressed housewife into a true outlaw..... there were quite a few times when she reminded me of Anjelica Huston, both of them being extremely gifted actresses who are not afraid of looking foolish or even unglamorous.

The plot is not all that original, but there are enough new angles to make it entertaining. There's a lot of humor, both in the dialogue and physical humor. My only complaint was that the action slowed down unnecessarily about three-fourths through, but the ending redeemed this problem. I've noticed this tendency in other recent films. They start out with a good hook, grab the viewer and maintain a hectic pace, then it's almost as if the director feels compelled to insert a low-key hiatus before an action-packed finale. Or maybe they have a hard time editing it that far into the film, knowing that the audience won't get up and walk out at that point anyway.

Still, these are minor complaints. This is a very good movie with some excellent acting, and sure to entertain all but the most hypercritical viewer.

Summary: 'Bandits' Rocked!
Review: 'Bandits' was a fantastic romantic comedy. I must admit it was a little more serious then I expected (which is a very good thing). 'Bandits' has an unbeatable all star cast (Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thorton and Cate Blanchett). I must say that Billy Bob defintely stole the show!!!!!!!! He lit up the screen and was so unbelievably cute and funny!! He really made me laugh! Of course, Bruce Willis and Cate Blanchett were good as well.

'Bandits' also had some great music that really fit with the movie. My personal favorite was U2's 'Beautiful Day', which unfortunately is not on the soundtrack. 'Bandits' had some surprisingly nice scenery for a movie that isn't centered around such things. Some of the mountain scenes were really breathtaking!

The plot of 'Bandits' was fun, exciting, witty, and entertaining. I really enjoyed the ending, it was very well thought out and surprising. Go see 'Bandits'! Don't rob yourself of the opportunity to see a great movie!!!!!

Summary: An Unexpected Find
Review: I admit that, when I first checked out this film, I had my apprehensions. "Another thief movie? Does the world need this?" I recall thinking. However, Billy Bob Thornton has not done me wrong yet, so I put aside prejudice and watched, and could not be happier. It is a very Thornton type of movie... about shattered characters just barely keeping themselves together, but at the same time pulling off acts of genius. The writing and characterizations are impressive and, more importantly, have a ring of truth about them. Yes, they are extreme, but it is only in the extreme that we can really recognize and acknowledge some of the latent seeds of unbalance within the minds of all.
Add fine acting into the mix, a soundtrack that is perfectly tuned to the different circumstances of the film, and an ending that rivals the best, and there should be little to no cause for disappointment, provided you understand that this movie is not a typical action film and don't expect an explosion every two seconds to satisfy your latent cro-magnon tendencies...

Summary: Bandits
Review: Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton break out of jail and proceed to rob banks in a unique fashion.
Much better than I expected. I had every intention of ignoring this film while surfing the net. I was quickly pulled into the film and watching with rapt attention. It was hilarious.
The DVD has the option to watch the film in widescreen or standard. There's an alternate ending and a few deleted scenes.
This DVD is well worth watching and buying.

Review: This movie has one funny scene ( the bandits having dinner with the hostage family ) the rest is made up of Bruce WIllis smirking and Billy Bob, the most overrated man in show business , Thorton worrying about being sick. In a word, boring.
Dont take my word for it. Do yourself a favor and rent or better yet borrow, before you buy.
