Summary: I loved it!
Review: I thought that this movie was fantastic! I loved it, I would see it again and again. An amzing plot!

Summary: Every family is crazy
Review: It is easy to try to compare this movie with The Truman Show but I think they are two entirely different films. OK, they are both biting satires on the power of the media and our need for soap but I found EdTV actually (and surprisingly) more emotionally engaging. This is real world, real problems, reality. The lead actors provide great depth and helped me to really taste the 'will he, wont he' challenges faced by Ed. The end has a nice touch underlining the issues behind the 'who decides what is publicity and what is an invasion of privacy' question. Anyway - a great movie and with all these live web cams and TV shows about groups of people living together under the camera, this is not as far fetched a premise as it may have once been. My advice is if it happens to you, do not play with your balls in the morning and get your 'celebrations of boobery' well rehearsed.

Summary: Only worth watching if you have got two hours to waste...
Review: Like a lot of other people, I had a lot of great expectations (but I was not expecting the Truman show). It was BORING, the plot was STUPID. It was like "The Truman Show Meets MTV's The Real World" (and I HATE the "Real World", anyone who doesn't realize that the show is scripted is a fool). The only saving graces were the choices of some of the actors (especially Ed himself). There were a few good laughs, but it wasn't worth the torture.

Summary: Predictable
Review: Like many of Ron Howard's movies, there are others who have done it better. The movies mentioned in the Amazon.com review are all superior to EdTv, so if you must buy one, buy one of them. The main problem with this movie is its boring predictability. There were certainly funny bits and I liked the actors (though Ellen was, really, just Ellen), but it never made me laugh. The Dolby Digital DVD version should not have included the deleated scenes, watching them made the final cut seem even more empty. They show him relishing and encouraging much of the fame, which would have made him seem less of a victim. When the movie was over, I forgot about it.

Summary: I couldn't take more than ten minutes of EdTV.
Review: Maybe my expectations were too much for a Ron Howard movie!??

There was nothing of interest to hold one's attention. After ten minutes, I stopped the DVD and returned it. In my opinion, it doesn't rate a star. Home movies shown on TV outrank EdTV.

You either dislike it or like it. I don't see a middle ground.

Summary: Not a good one
Review: MCConaughey has a way of rescuing a movie, as youw atch him give his all to a character, to finding nuisances in one. Is this movie really good? Again another not sure. It tries to touch on reality show themes and the price of fame but in trying to be funny, it's softer on the topic than the topic deems necessary.

Summary: one of the funniest movies I've ever seen
Review: My life is movies. I am an afficionado; I was hired at one of my jobs because I knew a movie fact. Out of all the comedies I've seen, this one is special. Ron Howard has made such a hilarious, heart-warming, and just cool movie that everyone should give it a chance. It is nothing like the Truman Show: besides the fact that they are both excellent films. You will not be disappointed by McConaughey's performance, and you will be surprised by how funny Jenna Elfman and Ellen DeGeneres is (her best film to date). If that is not enough- Elizabeth Hurley is in the film. I'd pay to watch her eat, let alone what she does in this movie. So please enjoy this 5 star movie with five great stars performing.

Summary: ED TV, Life isn't life when your on TV
Review: Ok, so there is this company that needs a new theme that would get them popular, so they have a contest. Ed is a chacater that goes in bars often, plays pool, that kind of man. His brother wants to be in this contest, so he does a skit about he and Ed, making him look better. But they pick Ed, and not his brother, so he's really pissed off at him. Ed likes it, he gets to be on RealTV, popular, and having a good time.

But when he steals his brother girlfriend, and try to "Do-it" with her, she can't because of the TV. Ed gets so popular people take polls if he should have a famous star girlfriend and 78% say yes. That and that the guys at RealTV is allow taping his whole family makes Ed mad, pretty soon, he has to get barked orders by the comany, so what does is get info on the main guy at RealTV by a fired woman there that he has some gross disease, and he is about to say it on air, and they.... Turn it off!

Summary: What a cute movie!
Review: Okay, so it doesn't compare to The Truman Show and has some flaws; EDtv is still a very entertaining movie. It's funny and touching, and Matthew McConaughey is just so darn hot, who could resist watching it? Even if you don't pay all the money to buy it, at least try renting it, you won't regret it.
