Summary: TOTALLY HILARIOUS!!!
Review: Awesome, funny, and will make you laugh so hard, you'll cry!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Not quite what it used to be
Review: CAVEMAN used to be one of my favorite movies, something I could watch over and over. That was about 12 years ago. Now, my opinion is somewhat changed perhaps because my choice of humor has changed.

The movie, which stars Ringo Starr, is about the cave "underdogs" banding together to give each other the proverbial bone. As outcasts, they may lack the strength of the more formidable cavemen, but they do have brains. Or so the movie would make you think...

Seeing the movie now, I disliked a few inappropriate scenes depicting something along the lines of drugging a woman in order to molest her. 12 years ago, I didn't understand scenes like that. This may be a comedy flick, and it may not have nudity etc, but it is definitely not for minors. The gags are also mediocre, reduced to bodily functions and sheer idiocy. Much of it reminds me of watching old Monkee reruns.

Rent it for nostalgia, but I don't recommend buying it unless you own the video and it is worn out with so much use.

Summary: What a charming little movie
Review: CAVEMAN, directed by JAWS co-writer Carl Gottleib, may not bring waves of gut-busting, laugh out loud moments, but there is still a real joy in watching this colorful clever little film. The very nature of it is silly, and the real magic is in the performances by Ringo Starr as Atouk, Tunda the chief, Shelly Long as the giddy and beautiful blonde, and Dennis Quaid as Atouk's buddy. It's these performances, their energy and silliness (but not slapsticky) that sell this joyful movie, as there is little comprehensible dialogue to relate ideas or situations. The humor, as a pleasant surprise, leans more towards satire and not tastelessnes or slapstick. Kids will enjoy the colorfulness and lightness, but mature audiences should find it a fun and lighthearted romp. Recommended

Summary: Wow
Review: Even though this movie has been made in 1981 and is 23 years old it never gets boring. So funny it is.

It tells the story of our 'ancestors' - the very first people and how they discovered food, fire, weapons etc. It goes back to the stone and ice age and it gives us the laughters no other comedy did. Ringo Starr's and Dennis Quaid's performance is stunning.

A must see movie! Don't underestimate just because it's old!
Have fun.

Summary: Starring Ringo!
Review: For those who may be put off by the fact that this stars Ringo Starr, don't worry, the film is very funny!

There's only about 7 words of English spoken in the entire film, but you'll understand clearly what's going on and what's being said. (Who knows, you might even refer to 'it' as 'zug zug')

Ringo and Barbara fell in love on the set of this film, and got married soon after. A very young Dennis Quaid, and Shelly Long (remember her?) are also in it.

The plot is similar to 1000 years BC (with Raquel Welch), only this is very funny (intentionlly)

Summary: What is zug-zug?
Review: I did not know that Shelley Long ...Tala (Outrageous Fortune ASIN: B000035Z5H) could talk until I saw Cheers. This is an educational movie. You get a glimpse of what life must have been with Macha the Tyrannosaurs Rex. And what happens in a near by ice age. What happens when people look out for each other and CLEAR the air?

Everyone forgot to mention that there was only a hand full has made up words used in the whole movie. I saw this film at the movies and they handed out dictionaries.

Summary: Neo slapstick classic!
Review: I have seen this film dozens of times, and think its extremely funny. A basic story line with an invented vocabulary, hilarious mime, grunts, groans and the gorgeous Barbara Bach!

People who think this movie is "stupid" or "bad" just don't understand that "silly" is an art form too. This is modern slapstick at its best!

Summary: I LOVE IT! Great for Adults and Kids alike!
Review: I Love This Movie! But it is definately not for everyone. This is the type of movie you buy and slip into the machine while doing housework, or sit down and laugh till you cry with the family.

I believe it should be classified as a cult movie, as either you follow and love it or you don't. Most of the movie is in a whole new language, and at least in my house we have learned it, and speak it. This is an A+++++ Movie, buy it, enjoy it, live it, and love it. Come on in, the water is fine! O:-)

Summary: awsome
Review: I really don't know much about movies, but this is the first movie that i can remember watching as a kid. its funny, romantic, and dramatic all roled into one. the dialoug is minimal, but the creative use of everything that was avalible in the 1980's helps alot....definitly worth viewing!

Summary: I was wondering if Caveman would make it to DVD
Review: I remember watching this movie when I was 10. It was funny then, I hope I still find it so. I recall the best scene was the discovery of music. Of course, I would because I now teach music. Then again, I thought that it was funny to see (er, hear) Denis Quaid (I think) pee icecubes. Hey, it has been 22 years... I will by this DVD and totally not regret it.
