Summary: Just not even worth renting...
Review: This was a pitiful attempt to capitalize on a good property without putting much money into it except in procuring the name.

The Story of "how Harry met Lloyd" is only funny in very few spots, most notably the "Icee/slurpee scene." Actually, that's the ONLY part of the entire movie that I laughed at, while Dumb and Dumber is a work of grotesque comedy genuis on par with "The Jerk," or even something like "Caddyshack" or even "Animal House" (though it would be all of those movies, meeting the Farrelly Brothers, who brought such "tasteful" flicks as "Kingpen," "There's Something About Mary," and "Me, Myself and Irene").

This movie lacks the comedic genius of the the Farrelly brothers AND the comedy duo of Jim Carrey and Jeff Bridges, and it shows. The movie is slow and generally just not funny. Try watching just about anything else instead, and if you're looking for a great comedy, check out any of the above-mentioned movies, as they're ALL MUCH better than this one.

Summary: A Decent Movie!
Review: Everybody knew that this srquel could not be as good as the first one because the first movie is hilarious, and because in this movie the actors Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels did not return. I went to go see this movie under the impression that it was going to be the worst movie ever, a waste of my time, and an extremly large waste of film. But when the credits started to roll the first thing that came to mind was "Not to bad." It wasn't a classic film, but it had some very funny moments. The acting sure was bad, but the bad acting sort of worked with the characters.

The movie has our heros from the first movie Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne meeting for the first time. They aren't the smartest people in the world. They meet while trying to get to school, and they bump into each other, literally. Harry used to be home schooled by his mom, and Lloyd lives in the school with his janitor dad. They do not know that they are being used by Principal Collins and his girlfriend Ms. Heller the lunch lady as a scam to get 100,000 dolalrs, by using the two as the basis for a special education class and then they collec the grant money. Ms. Heller is the teacher and to make it look real, they recruit other children. Lewis who is the mascot for the school team. Turk who is the class bully. Carl who is a football player, Toby, and the new exchange student Ching Chong. But Harry's crush, and school newspaper reporter Jessica begins to wonder about what Principal Collins to up to. She decides to bring out the scam, with help from Harry and Lloyd.

Of course its stupid, that is the point of this movie. It is one of those movies where you cannot study the acting, and the storyline. It wasn't written and directed to be a masterpiece. The point of this movie was to entertain people, and it did with me. I only gave it three stars because they did not have the return of the stars from the first movie. I also like how they made this movie a prequal instead of a sequal. Sometimes I prefe prequals, because they are usually a fresh new story. Sequals sometimes use the first movie to rip off its story ideas. "Dumb and Dumberer" was a ninety minutes movie of grins, smiles, chuckles, and a few laughs. It wasn't that bad.

ENJOY!

Rated PG-13 for crude and sex-related humor, and for language.

Summary: Funny and funnier...
Review: I havent seen the first Dumb and Dumber. This was a very funny movie though. The plot isnt the greatest, but there are many funny moments. The first time you see this movie is the best, and it probably gets old after awhile, so those are the only reasons I wouldent reccomend buying this. But remember, its funny and great for anyone with a sense of humor. At least rent it. Now I will probably go off and see the first one.

Summary: UNFUNNY AND UNFUNNIER
Review: Two unknowns mimic Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in DUMB &
Two unknown actors impersonate Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in DUMBERER: WHEN HAROLD MET LLOYD (New Line), the scatological prequel that unfortunately lives up to its title without one whit of irony.

Summary: Dumberer than Dumb
Review: This is, by far, the worst movie I have seen in the past year. If you HAVE to see it, rent it. This DVD is better marketed as a $20 beer coaster.

Summary: True To Its Name - The Dumbest Movie I've Seen
Review: I cannot believe I even watched "Dumb and Dumberer." This ranks as one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The only redeeming moment in the entire film is seeing Bob Saget flip out-always good for a laugh. This is not a movie for those who loved the original film. It does not help one understand the original (as one reviewer commented). It is a waste of time.

Olsen and Richardson do a fair job at imitating Carrey and Stern, but they are more annoying, far too dumb, and have no motivation for most of their actions. I agree with the reviewer who comments that they simply play kids who are mentally retarded and cash in at the expense of those who actually are challenged.

I would not recommend this movie to anyone. Period.

Summary: 3 stars??
Review: Good Grief. This movie got 3 stars from reviwers. Very surprising to me because this movie was the most ridiculous, immature, unoriginal peice of garbage I have ever subjected myself to. I am not even that picky! I am enterained by corny humor, but there was no humor in this film. It was just so stupid, I only laughed maybe once. There are tons of films that are just so corny and dumb, you can't help but laugh, but it has originality, like Austin Powers for example. But there is a limit to stupid humor. The stupider is gets the less funny it will be. I guess the writer of this one thought it was the other way around. Dumb and Dumber was very funny and actually had originality and imagination. When harry met loyd doesnt even deserve to be linked to dumb and dumber. There was no imagination what so ever. My dad's girlfriend said it looked like something for junior high kids, going by the preview. But junior high isnt young enough. Maybe a 5 year old would enjoy it if that old. They could have done soooooo much better. The chocolate scene was either something a mentally challenged person on crack thought up, or someone with no imagination. Good grief. The absolute worse. How did Shia even agree to be in this film. He is too good for that. His talent should be in movies where the script isnt written in 5 minutes. Anyways I've made my point. This was a horrible horrible horrible horrible movie and a waste of time!! Prequels always suck. But this is the motha of all bad prequels. It took a **** all over one of the funiest comedies of all time. And they actually found a kid who actted just like loyd (jim carrey)and looked like him, and they ruined it all becuse of the lack of humor and the ridiculous storyline. It's a travesty I tell you. Sorry but I absolutely despised it!!!
