Summary: I loved it!
Review: This is the best movie ever. It is so funny! The six foot tall invisible bunny added to the laughs, and it was especially funny to watch James Stewart react to the bunnny, who nobody else could see.

Summary: Funny, Poignant, AND in Black and White
Review: This fine film is a great addition to the world of DVD, and it IS IN BLACK AND WHITE, NOT COLOR, as Amazon has it listed. I just received my copy from Amazon yesterday and to my surprise and relief it was in B&W original format. The 5 minute commentary by Jimmy Stewart in 1990 with video montage is a nice addition as well. The picture quality on the DVD is good, and of course, the movie is wonderful. I won't go on about the story line, as many other good reviews have already documented that aspect, but I would like to state that Harvey is definitely 6 foot 3 1/2 inches, as I just finished the movie less than 24 hours ago ("lets' just stick to the facts, now" !), although Stewart indicates that he felt he must have been 6'8" since he had to look up to him. Jimmy Stewart's subtle, thoughtful performance gives a surreal quality to a film that feels mostly like a well done stage play, but has an edge to it that is hard to describe and should be experienced by any movie lover or person interested in thinking about life, familiy, and one's view of reality. A must for the DVD collection.

Summary: A film for those with an advanced sense of humor
Review: For fans with a warm heart and a very dry sense of humor, this is a classic. It is what so many entertainers try to recreate and never will, because only people with the heart of a child will understand this film.

Summary: Funny & Sweet
Review: If you are someone who likes Jimmy Stewart- you'll love this film. In my opinion, this is his best performance. I love the part where Stewart's character says, "My mother told me that in this world you have to be really smart or very pleasant. I used to be smart, now I prefer pleasant." When Jimmy Stewart died he left a big void, luckily much of his work is on video and DVD for future generations to enjoy and learn from. I sure admired him and thought he was both really smart and very pleasant. Get this movie and share it with everyone you know- it's a gift.

Summary: The six foot rabbit!
Review: I'm 19 years old and I'm not particularly interested in old movies. But this movie is great no matter how old it is! It would be a shame for anyone to pass this movie up just because it isn't highly commercialized or the most popular movie being watched right now. I can't think of anyone who could watch "Harvey" and not be able to walk away from the movie happier. "Harvey" has a charm to it that you can't find in any other movie. It's so innocent and clean ,and it has a style of humor all it's own. Not only will this movie keep you entertained and interested ,but it will also leave you feeling good. It's something that you never get to experience with any sort of movie today.

Summary: ....
Review: Please stop colorizing the classics. It totally ruins a masterpiece. I'm surprised the black and white part of "The Wizard of Oz" wasn't colorized as well. I love "Harvey." It's a fantastic movie. Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor of all time. I just wish they'd left it alone. Colorizing a movie doesn't make it better. In fact, it cheapens it, if it was originally in black and white. I came on this site looking for "Harvey", but when I saw that it was in color, I passed on it. I'll wait and see if they decide to rerelease it in it's original classic splendor.

Summary: Harvey, the destroyed colorized version
Review: Whomever colorized this classic should be executed post haste. I almost clicked buy when I saw it was "Color". No way I would ever let this into my collection. Please, please never buy a colorized classic as you will become just a shill for the sham "artists".

Summary: if it's black and white, it stays black and white
Review: that's a general rule of thumb. The biggest craze in the eighties ruined every movie it could with coloring the classics. This was truely James Stewart's best film. If you can find the black and white version, i suggest you get that instead. Color doesn't change the plot. This movie comes from when special effects were so crude that a plot need to be involved unlike Jurassic Park. Although imaginary lizards is a funny thought, a Pooka translates over the story better. If your new to James Stewart films, this is the first to own. Follow it up with Mr. Smith goes to Washington, and The Man who shot Libery Vallence(my second personal favorite Stewart flick). Then work your way through Hitchcock.
