Summary: Super Funny - definitely a cult hero!!!!
Review: One of the funniest movies I've ever seen! Right up there with the Caddyshack's and Animal House's. A complete surprise since you will barely know anyone in this movie. Total 100% "guy" humor throughout the movie, so if your girlfriend/wife is really uptight then watch it alone. Not so much that it was dirty but just geared more towards stuff guys will laugh about. Can't wait for Broken Lizard to come out with more!!!!

Summary: Okay...no cream.
Review: Super Troopers is a movie that didn't get much play at the theaters, but since being released on DVD has built up a cult following. Why? It's hilarious.

The movie was conceived and written by the five-man comedy troupe "Broken Lizard." Each member is perfectly cast as a highway trooper, from Rabbit, the good-natured rookie, to Farva, the cop with the ultimate superiority complex.

There isn't much to discuss in the way of plot. It's essentially the highway patrolmen versus the local cops, constantly in an effort to outdo each other due to a pending budget cut - neither wants to get the axe. But when it turns out the locals may be into something illegal, the highwaymen stage a full-on covert operation to expose them.

The real genius is not in the storyline, but in the characters and the humor. Each character is nailed to a "T". This is one of those movies with a limitless barrel of one-liners. Watch it with a group of people and I promise you'll be quoting from the film daily.

Speaking to value of the DVD, it's worth the price simply for the repeat-watchability of the film. You can put it in again and again...it just doesn't get old.

FYI - These guys have a new movie coming out called "Club Dread." It comes out in theaters Feb. 27th.

Summary: Astonishingly Bad on Every Possible Level
Review: If this movie was like most horrendous comedies, it could be dismissed for its lame jokes and complete lack of timing along with its bad acting.

But it really distinguishes itself by having NO POSSIBLE CONNECTION to the real world or law enforcement or anything. Do they know ANYTHING about the police or highway patrolmen? Apparently just recycling the Delta vs. Omega scenario from ANIMAL HOUSE while putting everyone in uniform is enough.

I don't know which world would find this movie funny, but it ain't this one.

Summary: Stupid, stupid, stupid !!!
Review: After noticing the current average customer review for this movie being four whopping stars (!!!) I felt the need to warn the general public. I just bought this DVD, I did not come close to laughing even once and I want my money back. If it were truly a four star movie it would have been nominated for several oscars. It makes the POLICE ACADEMY series look like a high art form. People be warned!

Summary: Proof that you don't need a big budget to make a good movie
Review: I bought this DVD on a whim, and I couldn't be happier. This movie is just plain funny. Sure it isn't exactly high class comedy, but for someone like me (a broke college student) its perfect. The characters are very distinct, but they mesh well together. The broken lizard crew are all buddies and it really shows on this film.
The gags are really well delivered. Some could have been really tasteless, (like the bear"lover" scene), but broken lizard knew just how far to go.
The DVD itself also contains some great extras. Comentary by all the broken lizard members, as well as deleted and extended scenes w/ optional comentary, outake reel, and a featurette on the film. Overall a great buy.

Summary: "Hey thats my car... and my (gulp) Girl!"
Review: This is a great silly goofy movie for the whole family (17+) It has some memorable things and qoutes that will remember. The reason I rated it a three is because it could've been better. The humor was great when it was around but most of it was a little dry if you ask me. A few choice moments made this movie see worthy. I don't know most of the people on this cast and I don't know the people that made it but I heard the same producers are making "Club Dread" and that looks like it is pretty funny as well. So if you want to watch this movie and you appreciate this kind of humor ok... but if your just gonna watch it because you think this will be a great movie watch and you don't usually don't watch these kind of movies then watch something else. Ok peace I'm out!

Summary: Less than the sum of its parts
Review: A friend of my wife recommended this to me, insisting it was the funniest thing she'd ever seen. I'm not convinced.

This movie is ok; not great but ok. Not the funniest thing ever made or the greatest comedy of the last 30 years. The opening scene is funny - it then tails off from there.

Ok so I know that the plot is allowed to be absurd but I got the feeling the movie didn't know into which genre it wished to be placed. Was it straight comedy, slapstick, black comedy or what?

Watch it and laugh a couple of times. Then take it back to Blockbuster.

Summary: Great comedy with hilarious cast
Review: Super Troopers is a great movie that will no doubt have you laughing throughout. The story follows the efforts of five Vermont highway patrol officers and their captain. Because of certain budget cuts, the station may be shut down forcing them to transfer to another station. The officers know they have to do something big or else they could all lose their jobs. Their opportunity arises when a murder and a drug trafficking ring is linked together. All the while, the highway patrol is battling nearby local police for control of the area. This is a very funny movie with an excellent ensemble cast. The best part of the movie is the routines the guys have that they use to mess with people when they pull them over on the road. Some of the other routines are just as funny like the bulletproof cup and Rabbit's diversion late in the movie.

Super Troopers has an excellent ensemble cast that works great together. Brian Cox plays the veteran captain trying to keep his men together and is very good especially the last half hour. The five officers are played by Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Eric Stolhanske as Thorny, Foster, Mac, Rabbit, and Favra. The DVD offers theatrical trailers, widescreen format, extended scenes, deleted scenes with commentary, outtakes, an alternate ending, and a featurette. Super Troopers is a vastly underrated comedy that is hilarious from beginning to end. Don't miss Super Troopers!

Summary: watch this movie Right Meow!
Review: I usually pass on "stupid" comedies. Comedy movies typically have a certain wince factor to them....when the plot has backed itself into an impossible corner for the sake of laughs and has to resort to the Serious Moral or the Spontaneous Recovery or some other plot device to create a feasible ending. I can't stand that---it breaks up any momentum the humor has and wrenches you back to reality.
This movie doesn't. The cast does whatever on earth they want, and if it doesn't make sense in the real world then hey, it's a movie! They spend 100% of their time making you laugh so hard that you practically choke on the tears running down your face.

After you watch the movie (and not before!) be sure to watch all of the commentary/outtakes on the dvd. You will never look at that syrup-chugging scene in the same light again. You may never look at syrup the same way again!
