Summary: Abysmal, worse than a cup of cold roach tea.
Review: Let's be brutally honest for a moment: C&C were never what you might call comedy geniuses. While history recalls with fondness Laurel & Hardy, Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, The Marx Brothers, Monty Python, The Goons, Tony Hancock, Marty Feldman, Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks and the rest, C&C will have to be content with a small, dedicated fan base. I personally do not hold them in very high esteem; their records are sloppy and only intermittently amusing, their films generally slack and tedious, and their careers to date have not been exactly distinguished. 'Up in Smoke' is a notable exception (as is 'Things are tough all over') but, since they plundered their comedy albums for a lot of the material, essentially represents the absolute height of their talent. 'Still Smokin' is indefensibly awful however, with absolutely nothing to recommend it. There doesn't seem to have been any intent whatsoever to deliver the classic goods of film comedy, such as funny lines, amusing situations and people behaving in a humorous manner. No discernable script, no technical proficiency, nothing remotely interesting in the plot, the sketches or the characters does not add up to a film worth spending money or time on. A comedy which appears to pad out it's running time to 'feature' status by including lengthy, zen like sequences of complete non activity might be just the thing if you've prepped yourself by getting hopelessly, life threateningly wasted, but anyone even tenuosly connectd with the real world should stay well away. I don't know who could find this amusing.

Summary: laughoutloud
Review: Nostalgia for my childhood recently caused me to buy and watch the Cheech and Chong movies (with the exception of The Coriscan Brothers). Aside from realizing I shouldn't have been watching those movies in my pre-teen days, I realized how well done they are. Most amazing to me was that they held up one after the other, feeling not repetitive, though each of them is rather episodic. Most impressive was Chong's direction; he makes a number of interesting choices that elevate him beyond the status of writer/star who has enough power to direct; clearly, he took this role quite seriously. The movies, of course, are not serious. I rarely laugh out loud in movies these days, but I did at least a half dozen times in each of these. The characters are not only given funny situations in which to work and funny lines to deliver, but each of them is presented with a kind of earnestness that makes them likeable, and the films all he more watchable.

Summary: terrible!
Review: Still Smokin' is too bad for the first half, then it goes [down the drain].It becomes unfunny and uninteresting. The stand up is horrible. If you want Cheech and Chong doing their comedy routine buy one of their CD's instead of this film.If you're looking for a good Cheech and Chong movie check out "Up in Smoke" or "Nice Dreams".

Summary: A stand-up special, not "Up In Smoke 2"
Review: There are a lot of strong feelings about this movie. Many people hate it, many people love it. To be frank, it's pure Cheech & Chong, the stuff that made them famous on their 1970's comedy albums. It has no plot, like the classic "Up in Smoke" or their later bombs, it is really just a long sketch show. If you like Cheech and Chong's humor, it's on display at it's best here. Of course, most people who see this expect a sequel to "Up In Smoke", where it disapoints. It's not a pot-adventure comedy, although the drug theme runs strong. If you liked their classic comedy albums, you'll probably enjoy this.

Summary: A Near Miss, though it has it's moments
Review: This film by the doped duo is one of they're couple of misfires. Not as big as The Corsican Brothers (which is bad, though not the worst that could happen), though a somewhat far cry from the days of Nice Dreams and Up in Smoke.

The film focuses on the two and they're ventures before and at a festival in Amsterdam. However, it is mainly a set-up for a movie where they show off they're talent that made them a success on stage before the movies. Fascinating, to be sure, however the downtrip of this is that a number of the bits off and on stage in the movie just aren't that funny. The two show they have genuine and remarkable talent, but the mark isn't totally hit like in the earlier 4 movies. Best sequences though- Blind Melon Chitlin, the boobs in the sauna (why not), and the Detroit/Jamaican drug seller.

Not a total waste of time, but it isn't gold either.

Summary: a bad film that deserves no stars.
Review: This film is simply dreadful. The paper thin plot has the veteran marijuana-dazed comedy duo Cheech and Chong appearing at an Amsterdam film festival and culminates with twenty minutes of laughless concert footage from the once-funny comedy duo. I'm a big fan of Cheech and Chong, but I'll have to say this is by far their worst film. And that is saying a lot considering how unwatchable "Cheech and Chong's The Corsican Brothers" was. Rent it at your own risk. Stick with a winner from C&C and buy "Up in Smoke." You won't be disappointed.

Summary: This movie should have gone Up In Smoke!
Review: This is one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen. What was the entire point of making this movie. I laughed so much when I saw "Up In Smoke", but cried when I wasted my money when I rented this waste of DVD space! This disc could have been the disc used to create the DVD set for Star Wars: Episode IV, but instead they wasted it on this movie. Believe me, don't waste the money and time to see this movie. If you want to spend your money well, rent or buy "Up In Smoke", you will laugh so hard. Up In Smoke: A+, Still Smokin: F+! You will thank me!

Summary: Destroy the Print
Review: This is quite simply the worst movie ever made. I could have made a better film with a $1000 budget. There is absolutely no script. It's as if they just let the cameras run and made up dialogue as they went along. As for humor there is not one scene where you will even crack a smile. Do not believe for a second any of the positive reviews you see here. These people have sampled far too much of the substance endorsed by Cheech and Chong. I like a good toke myself but even under the influence this is just pathetic.
