Summary: Like an SCTV sketch...
Review: Except John Candy and Eugene Levy's performances aren't quite as subtle, and Meg Ryan was never on SCTV, and there are more special effects here, and it's not all that funny.

And there's a theme song, which is terrific solely for the fact that someone, somewhere had to sing the words "Armed and Dangerous"--a phrase that's all too rarely set to music.

Summary: Loggia is classic in this one
Review: Funny movie, keeps you laughing...Candy and Levy are good, but Bob Loggia is great as a corrupt thug mafioso who will has a roughneck hit squad beating people and stealing union dues...if you like italian profanity, buy it

Summary: Another classic film from the Candy man
Review: John Candy and Eugene Levy have a great chemistry in this film. The addition of the sweet, innocent character played by Meg Ryan a great plus. Even though the story and filming is not the greatest, their characters in this film play off each other very well to provide for some hilarious, outlandish situations and a whole slew of laughs. For example, this is the only film that features a semi-truck hauling a tanker of rocket fuel playing demolition derby through a traffic jam. Even though some of the humor is a bit campy at times, I could watch this film over and over, and still laugh out loud. This movie is a good addition to you family library, and a must have for John Candy fans.

Summary: FAIRLY FUNNY CANDY VEHICLE
Review: John Candy is Frank Dooley, a cop unjustly fired from his job. Candy decides to become a Security Guard for Guard Dog Security. He is teamed with second-rate former prosecutor Norman Kane.

On the job they find themselves mixed up in a plot with shady, mob-run Union reps led by Robert Loggia as the mob boss. They try to tell their story to a young Meg Ryan, daughter of the security company boss but she doesn't beleive them. Soon they find themselves accused of murder and on the run from the cops and the mobsters.

Levy and Candy, two ex-SCTV alums have a good chemistry together in a kind of modern day laurel and hardy stlye. Not an uproarious movie but some funny parts, the best being when the pair hide out from the cops in a LA sex shop and Candy dresses in drag to escape the cops.

A fun movie. Not a gem but some good bits.

Summary: John Candy is the king of comedy
Review: John Candy is the funniest man in the world. His many films are truely comedy classics. Armed and Dangerous is no doubt one of Candy's best. Teamed with Eugene Levy(a fellow SCTV friend) this film scores. Candy's early death no doubt left us without many future comedy classics, but films like Armed and Dangerous can allow us to remember Candy as he should be remembered. A comedy genious.

Summary: Great John Candy romp!
Review: Like many of the action comedies of the time this one delivers an entertaining story with John Candy's wacky humor. Candy and Levy star as the protagonists who are forced to join a security agency when all other options fail. Revolving around a plot involving corruption and crooked cops Candy and Levy aim to get to the bottom of all that is wrong while [complicating matters] frequently. I really laughed a lot at this film. Candy and Levy make a great team and offer up some very hysterical scenes. Levy's attempts at being a defense attorney, Candy fishing at a pier, and the two crashing a ball thrown for the chief of police all seem like harmless events but these two always know how to screw them all up. If you are a fan of the SCTV or SNL crews then you definately have to see this movie. It is lesser known but very funny.

Summary: Very Funny
Review: One of the best comedys of the late 80s. In one scene..John Candy dressed as Divine and Eugene Levy in assless chaps(are'nt you the cheeky one)worth the price of admission.
