Summary: This movie is very good and funny!
Review: I thought this movie was very funny, good, and had great actors!
Adam Sandler is Happy Gilmore in this funny golf comedy just like "Caddyshack" and he loves playing hocky, but he doesn`t quite understand that he`s not that good at all!It all starts when somebody from Jesse`s Moving Company bets him $40.00 if he can hit a golf ball farther than he can and Happy surprisingly shoots it much, much farther and win`s the bet!He thinks if he goes betting other people for more money,he might can get enough to get his Grandmothers house back, since she got it taken away from her because she hadn`t payed her taxes in over a Decade because she didn`t have any money! While practicing and betting,a man named Chubbs see`s him and meets him at the ball shooter cage and tells him that he will give him lessons to get better at golf for free and that he could be in the Annual Golf Tour and get really big bucks!Happy firstly refuses and is about to drive away when he looks at a picture of Grandma in his car,and backs up and says,"Hey,Chubbs! What kinda big bucks?"and that is where he starts to plat lot`s more golf and tries out for the Tour!I will not tell you any more because I don`t want to spoil anything, but if you want to find out if he win`s and gets the house back, buy this on DVD or Video!

Summary: Adam's Funniest Movie
Review: Like other comics before him, Adam Sandler feels he has to break away from his slapstick roots and become a great actor. If "Punch Drunk Love" is any indication go back to slapstick, Adam. You are funny and charming and that works for you. Gilmore is such a movie that showcases Adam at his best. Great cameos by Richard Keil, and especially Bob Barker make this the funniest golf movie since "Caddyshack." A gem of a movie.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Could be the Caddyshack of the 90's.
Review: Of all the great movies Adam Sandler has done throughout the years, this would just about have to be the best - and funniest!

Happy Gilmore is a good hearted but short-tempered guy who has always wanted to be a hockey player. He was raised by his grandma after his dad died. Flash forward to present times: His life isn't so great, he didn't make the hockey team yet again, his girlfriend leaves him, and worst of all, his sweet grandmother's house gets repossessed by the IRS when she didn't pay her taxes. She has to stay in a retirement home (run by a very mean orderly).

Meanwhile, Happy somewhat accidentally discovers he has the abilty to drive a golf ball really far! While at a driving range, he gets discovered by retired pro Chubbs Peterson, who offeres to show him how to play golf and to get a sopt on an upcoming PGA tour, but he's not interested and thinks it's dumb.

Long story short, he decides to do it anyway, in order to get the $250,000 needed to save his grandma's house. From here on is where it really gets good. He adds a bit of fun into the sport: cussing like a sailor when he misses the ball, and occasionally throwing clubs and hitting a few guys. As mean spirited as that sounds, it's all done in such a way you can't help but to laugh.

Meanwhile, longtime player Shooter McGaven takes an instant disliking to Happy and does all he can to assure he gets kicked off the tour. Also, he meets a nice public relations girl named Virginia, who somewhat befriends him and tries to get him to calm down. They may or may not get closer (i.e. more romantic) later on...you'll have to watch to find out!

Also, if you can watch the miniature golf scene or the one with Bob Barker and not laugh, you have no sense of humor!

Without ruining it, I can't really give much else away, but in short, if you've ever been really frustrated at golf (*raises hand*) or anything, and/or just want a good, non-thinking type silly comedy, you'll love this.

Summary: Or un-happy Gilmore
Review: Or this movie should have been called Un-happy Gilmore. Most of the time Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) is not being happy. And there are much better sports movies out there like Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, Space Jam, Angles in the Outfield (1994), Rookie of the Year, and Remember the Titans. So if you are looking for much better sports movies, check out those titles. As the movie opens, Happy Gilmore has moved in with his grandma (Frances Bay) after the death of his father at a hockey game, and his mom has moved (because she doesn't like hockey). But all Happy wants to do is play hockey, but he doesn't make the team. And his grilfreind seems to be angry with him, that she gets herself killed. But the worse comes to Happy when his grandma who has not paid her bills (in like 10 years) loses her house and all her stuff. And Happy is order by the IRS to make the money that his grandma hasn't paid in 90 days, or the house will be sold. And he finds out when the movers, that are bringing in his grandma's stuff in his house, that when they take a break to play some golf, Happy bets that he can get the ball far from the mover's ball. And he finds out that he can hit golf balls really far, and is discoverd by a former golf play named Chubbs (Carl Weathers). That Happy wins a golf game.

Summary: Happy Gilmore
Review: The movie Happy Gilmore is the funniest laugh-out loud golf comedy since Caddy Shack. From the very first scene to the last, Adam Sandler and his cast will keep you in stiches and gasping for a breath. Unlike other of his comedies, Adama Sandler is not the only one delivering the laughs. A cast, who isn't that famous yet, but hilarious and meant for each role that they play accompany Sandler. The movie follows the entertaining career change of Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) who goes from being a brutal hockey player to a golf sensation. After finding out that his grandma has lost her house as the result of not paying her taxes, Happy vows to get the house back. After being cut from the local hockey team, Happy is discovered by an old golf pro, Chubs Peterson. He tells Happy that he has the potential to make a large sum of money playing golf. A light bulb goes off in Gilmore's head and he decides to put his hockey career on hold for a while to pursue this idea of becoming a golfer and thereby raising the money to get his grandma's house back. After winning a local tournament Gilmore makes the pro tour and is ready to start making money. His journey through the tour takes many comedic ups and downs as he battles with the villian of the movie, Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald). Shooter will do anything to prevent Happy Gilmore from succeeding. This movie is a classic and undoubtedly one of the best comedies of all time. There is not a dull moment in the movie and anybody who dosen't laugh at Gilmore's antics on the course must surely have no sense of humour. There is no stop to the endless number of sidesplitting actors in this movie. Even when Adam Sandler is not in the scene, Christopher McDonald amuses you with his arrogant yet comical style and the cameo by Bob Barker is icing on the cake. I give the movie five out of five stars and recommend it for anyone who likes to laugh.

Summary: EXTREMELY ENTERTAINING
Review: This is an Extremely funny movie. You will laugh no doubt!
This is 1 of those special films that you wont get sick of, even if you watch it all the time. This with a doubt one of Adam Sandlers funniest movies and sits up there with the wedding singer, water boy and little nikki. This even beats Billy Madison!

Happy Gilmore is a wanna be pro ice hockey player that can hit the puck as hard as any one but cant skate for ****.

The IRS takes his loving grandma's "who is too old" house off her.Until he discovers that he can hit a golf ball like no other and chubs offers him a free training lesson to earn some BIG BUCKS.

He is rude and crude, a guy you dont want to mess with and he is playing with golf players! You just have to see what happens (you will see bad language and fighting) it is a very fun and enjoyable movie from start to finish and i recommend this to all comedy fans!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Summary: The only guy to take off his skate and try to stab someone!
Review: This movie has got to be one of Adam Sandler's best. Notice how he always plays people with somewhat short fuses, though some not as violent as Happy Gilmore. But that's what makes this so funny. With an opening sequence in which he tries out for a hockey team for the tenth time and isn't accepted, and ends up beating up the coach, you know where this thing is headed. This movie is more than just a regular guy with an awesome shot due to hockey and an awful temper. But the movie is at it's best when Happy gets into a fight with 'The Price is Right' host Bob Barker and Bob wins! Anyone who hasn't seen this scene can't call themself an Adam Sandler fan! The basic story of this is pretty simple, it's about a guy who thinks he was born to play hockey, but still hasn't made a team. Then he meets a guy with a wooden hand who used to be a golf player, who tells him he should start. So he does, and he's got an awesome drive, but his putting stinks. And he has an arch enemy, a total a**hole named Shooter McGavin, who makes a total fool of himself many times but still thinks himself a pretty cool guy. This movie has got some pretty funny jokes and they're actually funny ( although somewhat juvenile, but what do you expect with Adam Sandler), and you can't help but love the hapless Happy. Overall you'll be pretty happy with a movie like 'Happy Gilmore'
