Summary: Diggstown
Review: I watch way too many movies, to the point that not much surprises me anymore. However, Diggstown not only surprised me, but I practically cheered at the ending (the second time too).

James Woods is as good as he was in True Believer, but with a surprising gift for comedy that really lightens his usual intensity. Oliver Platt wins the show even with a small part and the end... You will cheer (at least on the inside.)

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent "unknown" movie
Review: It is ashame more people have not heard of this flick. The performance by Woods and Gossett, Jr., was outstanding. The story line holds your interest and really gets you involved emotionally with the characters. Bruce Dern's performance was also outstanding. This is definitely a must-see and one for your video library.

Summary: This Movie is a Classic
Review: James Woods and Louis Gossett Jr. shine in this film about a small town under the control of a very powerful man. These guys pull the ultimate con that will test their friendship as well as what they believe in. You've got to be amazed by the twists and turns this movie takes while delivering a great sport/action/drama film. I guarantee if you buy this movie you will find yourself watching it more then once.

Summary: A good conman can leave town when he wants.
Review: Known as Midnight Sting in The UK, it's taken me ages to track this down on DVD.
Without giving the plot away, the whole film is a non-stop battle of wits between Woods and Dern who are ideally casted for the roles they are playing and allows them to flourih to the best of there ability.
Woods is the epitome of cool whilst showing a human side.
The Boxing scenes are superbly played out, finding the right balance between realism and humour.
Without spoiling the film the ending is one of the best i've ever seen in a film and captures the whole plot in a single moment which will have you cheering to yourself when the final fight is played out.
Without doubt i would recommend this film as a must have, it will keep you captivated even after repeated viewing which is rare for films these days.
A true Classic.

Summary: AWESOME MOVIE
Review: One of the best movies I have ever seen. Gossett is fabulous.

Summary: The con game at its best
Review: The reason my father bought this movie was because it was "previously viewed." What's great about this movie is that is fuses both gambling and boxing through comedy. The setting of a sleeping Midwestern town doesn't affect it's overall hyped feeling. Gossett's ten fights are staged well be Benny "The Jet" Urquidez. The boxing scenes look real good considering they are all actors. But the real strength of this movie is the plot twists, especially the last one. James Woods is great!

Summary: Remember your reaction after seeing "The Sting" the 1st time
Review: This is a movie like that. Will they pull it off or won't they? The anticipation & suspense is captivating. The viewer is brilliantly conned. The chemistry between James Woods and Lou Gosset is great. This is one of my top five. I can't wait until this movie is available on DVD.

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: This is one of the smartest, funniest, movies I've had the pleasure of viewing. The cast is excellent from James Woods, to Louis Gossett, to the young Uma Thurman.

I've also read the book and confess it isn't a carbon copy of the story, but the changes are nicely done and the ending is a whole lot funnier.

Excellent boxing action mixed with Woods shoot from the hip style and enough twists to keep you guessing right up till the end make a great experience.
