Summary: Success=99% work, 1% genius
Review: I appreciate how hard Seinfeld continues to work on his craft and the DVD has a really funny interview with Seinfeld and Glick. Highly recommend watching it.

Summary: Poor
Review: This was the most pointless misleading movie I have ever seen.
I bought this thinking there would be stand-up comedy. But soon found out it was a slow, overly drawn out documentary, about comedians and the review on the cover saying it was "very funny" truly led me to believe it was. Sad.

Summary: Jerry Seinfeld's in this?
Review: If you want Jerry Seinfeld to make you laugh, watch reruns of "Seinfeld". If you want to see manic-depressive comedian Orny Adams' ego expand, then buy/rent this DVD. For some reason, I thought this would be a documentary about Jerry Seinfeld and there is a fleeting glimpse of him, but mostly you get Orny holding forth backstage, in cabs and on the sidewalks of New York. For this I paid good money?

Summary: Enter the world of comedy
Review: I didn't get a chance to see this movie in theaters but it was Jerry Seinfeld, so I bought it on DVD. I was surprised right off the bat with the amount of extras there were for a movie that was pretty low budget. I think the movie trailer alone is worth the price for this movie. The movie mostly focuses on Jerry but it does go off on Orny a few times but its funny because he gets heckled and pretty much beat down on. The commentary is also great Jerry and Colin kept me entertained the whole time. I highly recommend this documentary because it's not like your average PBS special its like watching comedy the whole time there really is no boring parts at all. Check this movie out. On a side note, I was really disappointed with the lack of an insert and the fact that the disk is so bland.

Summary: The Secret To Success
Review: This film is not only applicable to the life of a comedian, but is also really relevant to any life as an artist, and all the people can't shut up about how hard it is to "make it". Seinfeld's response? "Shut up, and work." God bless him, it's a great film!

Summary: An excellent look into the unseen Seinfeld
Review: This is not a concert film of now-legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld. Instead, it is a very intimate look into the trials and tribulations of a million-dollar talent (Seinfeld) essentially starting over from scratch. Hitting the smaller comedy clubs (mostly in NYC), Seinfeld showcases his all-new material to audiences. You see him get a standing ovation, you see him bomb. You see him sweating before a gig, you see him revelling after a gig. In short, you are right there with Jerry Seinfeld as he does it all again.
Intertwined with this portrayal of Seinfeld is another of an unknown comedian trying to hit it big...Orley Adams. This is the lesser part of the film, in my opinion. While Seinfeld is still somewhat humble and human, even with his countless millions, Adams is brash, egotistical and often irritating. He seems more focused on his success and while that is not necessarily a bad thing, he does let it overshadow the joy and fun of performing that you'd expect someone is his position to have. If anyone was going to be egotistical and brash, you'd think it'd be Jerry Seinfeld. Don't get me wrong...Adams material is often very funny. But his personal side detracts from the enjoyment of it.
All in all, this is a great film and a phenomenal look into the life of a working comedian. It'll also bring you a new respect for Jerry Seinfeld.

Summary: Whose Orny anyway?
Review: A comedian? He doesn't seem funny to me and definately isn't the next big thing. It seems Jerry is still hiding behind other people, or at best just trying to blend in. This would have been infinately better minus the Orny stuff. A. I've never heard of him. B. Anything they've showed of him wasn't even remotely funny. And on top of that it's just way too much of him. The Jerry stuff is pretty good, not very informative (like the packaging makes out). Hopefully the commentaries will be good but as it stands now, I shouldn't have bought this because I doubt I will rewatch it... I will keep taping Seinfeld each night and try and forget about this dvd.

Summary: JERRY SEINFELD AND ORNY ADAMS INVITE US INTO THEIR WORLD
Review: Attention Viewers: If you've been longing for a Big Screen version of that hilarious show we all loved and enjoyed, you might be a bit disappointed. If you want your comedian to be happy 24 hours a day with a Hollywood smile on his/her face, then they are showing re-runs of SEINFELD in the evenings throughout the week- please check your local listings.
But if you desire a rare glimpse into this fine art that we so effortlessly define as Comedy, then you and I are in for a treat that, honestly, most of us do not even deserve. Be warned if you need to be; this is NOT a movie. This is a documentary. It is not a sequel to ANYTHING that you have ever seen on primetime. It is something much more exceptional. To view this unique documentary and only derive from it that it is nothing more than a boring film full of much dialect and little comedy, then we obviously assume that magic is as easy as snapping a finger and pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Anyone can do it. Si?
No por favor.

Those with a keen eye and ability to think will see, through this film, the uncommon strength and perseverance that it takes to step bravely into this comedic world. What it is truly like to hone your skills night after night, year after year, facing every genre of unpredictable crowd that you are thrown in front of, without any trace of the income that you or I would ever subject ourselves to. You might ask yourselves why? Your answer is in this film.

Love, determination and, once in a silver moon, that chance to be recognized and appreciated for the person that you truly are. Do you get the feeling that this somewhat sacrificed livelihood might sometimes leave you a little "stressed"? Well, you'll find that answer too, from a gifted rising comedian by the name of Orny Adams. (What was that name again; my spell check just went haywire?)

Ignore your spell check. In COMEDIAN, this guy might piss you off. He might shake your "Egotistical Danger" warning sirens right off of their rusting hinges. But what you must do is step back and remember one thing. You have stepped into HIS room, where life and experience is not always happy; all is not pretty and in dress rehearsal for three and a half hours. But it IS real. It is honest. And you are his guest, so please act accordingly. Sit back and recall that every single one of us, though some not admittedly, have wanted to strangle our clients at one time or another. The customers that we work so hard for day after day (or night after night.)

You should experience, through this rare film, the unprecedented work that it takes to help your miserable, tired selves escape from your humdrum lives for one single celebrated night, ...and laugh.

How do we take our pain away? Simply Laugh.

Summary: I loved this documentary but lose Orny Adams, a real whiner!
Review: On several occasions it was very difficult to hear the dialog due to the noisy club atmosphere. I hope this film is released on DVD soon and I also pray that the soundtrack will become available.

The soundtrack was awesome and the hippest jazz recordings ever gathered for a film.

Summary: 5 Stars for Jerry Seinfeld. 1 Star for Orny Adams.
Review: Having already seen Jerry Seinfeld perform his new comedy routine last February I already knew what jokes to expect. But there are still some surprises. You are given an up-close look at Jerry with this film. But as Jerry works on his new routine and attempts to make the new jokes work by performing at small New York comedy clubs, you see that even Jerry can struggle at time. There are many cameo appearances by very famous comedians. Chris Rock, Bill Cosby, Ray Romano, Colin Quinn and Gary Shandling all make appearances. The majority of the other comedians screen time is spent telling stories about bad gigs, good gigs and funny stories. The interaction and dialogue between Seinfeld and the other comedians is perhaps the most enjoyable part of the movie.

What is certainly the least enjoyable parts of the movie is every appearance by Orny Adams. Adams, a supposed comic, is very egotistical, vain and narcissistic. He seems to only care about himself and making sure people know who he is. Even legendary agent George Shapiro seems irritated by Adams at times. I admit some of Adams material is funny, but by seeing his personal side you really don't enjoy it. Adams seems to be worried about getting his own television show. Obviously he is assuming he will follow the same career path as comedians like Romano, Seinfeld, Kevin James, Tim Allen and many others. The problem is unless Adams is willing to toss the ego he will never go anywhere.
