Summary: Funny, Cute, Sexy, Everything you want!
Review: I just saw this movie recently, and I love it. For all the teenagers, its perfect. Guys are always trying to have relations with girls, and this is the perfect high school atmosphere. This movie is so funny!! It's sexy, and the girls and guys make cute couples. The parents of the main character, Jim, are too hilarious! You gotta see this movie!!!!

Summary: funny, but not much substance
Review: this is a great teenage movie... there is alot of sexual content in it, but its still funny. i would reccomend it to any high school student who needs a laugh and can relate to the struggles of teens.

Review: that this is a typical teenage movie. Yes, it borders on soft porn but there are definitely worse movies out there. My fifteen year old is too young to watch this with me in the room, with his friends, yes, that's a different story. I watched it through on DVD the day after Christmas. It was shocking but also quite funny. I suggest any parents of preteens watch this (not the edited version on TV) just so you know what your kids are watching when you are not around. You will laugh and you will be surprised!

Review: this movie was funny in the raunchy sort of way, and what can we throw in behind the raunchy humor to sell? drum roll please.....TEENAGERS! yes yes its true. American Pie was the grand high priest of teenage stupidity in film making. This movie was completely revolving around stereotype the entire time. It excluded the unpopular students, the ones who didnt dress in old navy and what not, put the spotlight on perfect looking teens played by 20 year olds and made the music department in high school look like one big frickin joke!
The humor could be spotted a mile away, you put teens and beer parties together and what do you got? high schoolers dedicating their pathetic little lives to going around and screwing as many people as they can. It was bad enough the movie sucked, then again the actors in the film(except for eugene levy)would never make a cent in a movie that didnt included high school and college experiences(which nowadays is basically partying)
i heard Jason Biggs tried doing the broadway version of The Graduate and completly blew! wasnt suprised at all.
so if you want a good intelligent comedy that doesnt set its plot around teenage sex, Ed Wood, Welcome to the Dollhouse, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and A clockwork orange is what I recommend. dont give these filmakers and actors money for this half-baked meaningless crap.

Summary: Actually funny
Review: First off to the negative reviews of American Pie; anyone trying to re-create any of the antics depicted in the film is a moron. Second of all, the film is a surprisingly funny teen comedy that unknowingly began a trilogy of films that became known for gross out gags and nudity, and helped launch the careers of Sean William Scott and Shannon Elizabeth. The story revolves around four high school seniors who are lifelong friends (Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Thomas Ian Nicholas) who pledge to lose they're virginity by prom night with some prospective interests (Shannon Elizabeth, Alyson Hannigan, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari). The film became infamous for it's pie loving gag and Shannon Elizabeth's foreign exchange student character who loves to take her clothes off. The rest of the cast is excellent as well, including Scott as the skirt chasing Stifler, Hannigan is a joy to watch as a flute loving band dork, and Eugene Levy as Biggs' father. All in all, the original American Pie is a surprisingly funny mainstream comedy that is better than you might think.

Summary: Classic Comedy!
Review: I like to review the film by itself and then the DVD...

Film - No one avoided this film like me. From what I had seen and heard about the film, it seemed that the writer and director took themselves way too seriously for a typical sex-filled teen comedy. Luckily, this film is not typical. The writing is crisp and the jokes are very funny. The characters reflect real teens (although they are all well-spoken and extremely pretty). The teen boys are neither jerks nor big softies (with the exception of Chris Klein's character). The girls are not naive, but also not entirely jaded. The acting is solid. The result is a film that is funny but that also can be taken as a look at kids today.

DVD - Awesome! Lots of special features, almost too many (soundtrack presentation?). The commentary is entertaining, and outtakes are always fun.

Summary: A Bit Raunchy Yet Still Barely Manages to be Tasteful
Review: When American Pie came out, many saw it due to its explicit focus on sex. It was a coming of age movie, but its focus certainly was on a recent new phenomena that has grown: many young boys have been willing to focus on having sex and accomplish it in any possible way. The tale of four boys who make a "deal" to get laid sounds a bit strange considering that 1) there is no way to authenticate that such an event has transpired; 2) typically, sex is a private matter, and why would you want anyone else to know what you've been doing?

Of course men and women have spoken about sex to their peers since human civilization began. What changes this is that instead of talking about what is occuring presently, this film focuses on future sexual behavior. There's a deal to make it happen, which is a bit odd. I think the problem with the film is that by focusing on sex to the exclusion of anything else, it showcases how superficial our generation has become.

Although I did like the film, and thought many parts of it were funny, I couldn't help but feel a bit creepy about the idea of telling a friends that I would be making this deal to make sure that I would have sex before the end of the summer. Sex is an emotional connection with someone else, and to rush it simply to keep a deal going is a bit bizarre.

Perhaps the most interesting character in the film is Jim's dad, who just happens to enter into each scene at the worst possible moment. He enters the scene usually when sex is about to happen, thus complicating Jim's life. Ha--isn't that how it happens in real life, too?

Summary: And this one time, at band camp . . .
Review: The only grudge I have against this film, is why she has to share the same name as me! I cringe everytime Alison Hannigan comes on screen, but thankfully, I'm not THAT much of a geek, and I can't play an instrument to save myself.

I love this film! Forget what everyone says - the pie scene, the sex scenes, everything. The best moments of this film are the ones you have to really look for. And those are the scenes when you start identifying with the characters. Obviously I didn't identify with any of the guys (although I went to school with a few of them!), but I definitely identified with the girls. Not sure which one though, but some the scenarios I definitely related to.

One of the best scenes in this entire film is surprisingly NOT the pie scene (I cannot stand to watch that), but the scenes with Chris Klein (Oz) & Mena Suvari (Heather). There is a real connection between their characters, especially during their sex scenes at the end.

Stifler is the best character in this film, and he's so funny. (Except with the pale ale - cringe!) Seann William Scott really did well from this film, and hasn't been sterotyped too much - unlike Jason Biggs.

This is not your typical teen movie. It laid the foundations for other teen movies, but none of them can match up to the cringing, gross out comedy of this.

The only reason I marked this film down was the extras. They look good on the cover of the film, but they're really not. So don't get your hopes up.

Review: this one has a lively cast, I mean really lively. Alyson Hannigan(Willow from Buffy The Vampire Slayer) is a treat as the girl from band camp. Seann William SCott is crazy and insane as The Stifmyster. great comedy with 2 sequels make this series great. also the scene when Shannon Elizabeth bares her frontside is the highlight
