Summary: FILM STILL HOLDS UP
Review: It's amazing that after 22 years, this film still holds up. I guess that's why it's truly a classic. A new generation needs to see material like this. And they probably will when the 25th anniversary edition comes out. In the meantime, they'll have to deal with the Woody wannabees.

Summary: The greatest movie of all time
Review: Everybody should see "Annie Hall." Unfortunately, not everyone can, because the VHS version is not closed-captioned (unlike the DVD). Why isn't this fantastic movie available with captioning in VHS format?

Summary: ....because I need the eggs !
Review: I hope to never forget the feeling I had leaving the downtown theater in small town Rochester, Michigan after seeing this movie during it's first run in '77. My only experience w/ "Woody Allen" movies was seeing "Sleeper" on CBS earlier. I think I was expecting a similarly flavored excursion down slap-stick, sight-gag lane. Instead, my date and I found ourselves floating down the sidewalks, trying to recall to each other scenes that impacted us the most. We both knew we had experienced something special, something that would hold us together like a bond through time.

Today when I think of scenes that exemplify the film, I immediately recall two narratives from Allen, one near the beginning, the other at the end.

In the first, Woody is describing two older, Jewish Ladies complaning about their food at a resort in the Catskills. "Oh, the food.... it was terrible!" stated the one Lady. "And such small portions!" cried the other. Woody used this as a comparison to life in saying, "It's cruel, maddening, frustrating...., and it's all over too quickly!"

During the films final moments, Allen tells the joke about a man in a Psychiatrist's office telling the Doctor about his Brother who thinks he's a chicken. When the Doctor asks him if he's done anything to correct his Brother, he said "no." When the Doctor asks why not, the man answers, "because I need the eggs." It seems that regardless of how illogical and untrue "true love" often is, we still feel the need to persue it.

Yea, life and love is a bitch, but ain't it grand.

Summary: This is my all time favorite movie.
Review: This movie cannot be said enough about. Woody Allen is at his best, and Dianne Keaton is amazing, as always. The writing is highly intelligent, and the story is one that anyone who has ever had a relationship will love.

Summary: Only the best romantic comedy of all time
Review: This is Woody Allen's best movie. It is at once the most typical Woody Allen movie, but also the most accessible for non-fans. Revolutionary structure and editing, but also incredibly funny. Holds up well to this day.

Summary: very funny and also serious
Review: I'm Korean and like to watch movies. Woody's films have philosophy and humor together. So I love them. Especially their dialogs are exciting. Thank you.

Summary: An American classic!
Review: This film is just absolutely hilarious! Woody Allen's "New York" sense of humor (and timing) really shines in this film. The lines are just memorable and used so often in conversation that we forget where they came from. I can't tell you how many times, in dealing with people and their problems, I have described the "subject" by using the line "I don't want to be part of any club that wants me as a member." More people have that problem than you might think. Diane Keaton's wardrobe is just outstanding. Great film all around.

Review: I am a marginal Woody Allen fan and watched this movie today. It was a very pleaseant and funny movie. I agree with the Academy give this movie the best picture in 77. Five stars.

Summary: Due Back on the Planet Earth
Review: Well, I am only 16 years old, and one of my parents recommmended this movie. I thought it would be incredibly stupid, but it was hilarious. I went out and bought the video the next day. The whole movie is just great, and the scene with Dwayne is a classic. I also enjoy, "It's okay, we can walk to the curb from here." Superb film.
