Summary: Electric Barbarella
Review: Jane Fonda at her best, a good midnight movie that puts The Rocky Horror Picture Show to shame. The movie is meandering at times, but all in all it is really good. Fonda is attacked by vampire-like dolls, saved by a barbarian, and even helped by a blind angel. The band Duran Duran got their name from the "bad-guy" in the movie.

Summary: eye candy for one and all
Review: okay, so it was a cheesy, free love, somewhat confusing movie but with all that eye candy, psychotic little twins, and the Great Tyrant seemingly needing to seduce everyone who may enter her castle, it is well worth watching..repeatedly as a matter of fact.

Summary: QUEEN OF THE COSMOS!
Review: If you like seeing a young, pliable, quiescent Jane Fonda take her clothes off, get off, get beat-up, attacked by demonic dolls, discover Duran Duran...this film is for you. While much has indeed been made of the corny special effects, I think they are in fact perfect for this film. The strange score fits with lock and key specificity. Barbarella is quite naive. Yes?

Summary: "So I'm your one eyed wench now am I??"
Review: The opening sequence of Barbarella is probably the greatest in cinematic history, who thought up the idea of a striptease in space? Whoever it was deserves an award for it sets up the theme for the entire film perfectly. Mindless sex in futuristic settings, how fabulous. The plot is distored, disjointed and at the end of the day pointless. But hey, so what...it gives Miss Fonda plenty of chance to change her groovy costumes. Classic lines and moments in the film are a plently, with some of the most classic scenes being Barbarella being attacked by dolls with attitude and Barbarella having a strange kind of "virtual sex" which leads to "hair-raising" consequences. This is a classic beyond all comprehension, it has to be seen to be belived. I saulte you all and offer you this message..LOVE!!!

Summary: The most fabulous bad film ever
Review: What can I say? The shag carpeted walls of the space ship, the gratuitous pornographic element, the psychadelia, the banal dialogue, the groovey sounds, the consistant bad acting... I enjoyed every minute of it. And what a veritable goldmine of memorable quotes! Barbarella when being kidnapped by evil children: "But I haven't skied in ages!" The Black Queen meeting Barbarella for the first time:"Why don't you come and play with me pretty pretty..." And after being held hostage by Barberella: "How dare you endanger my beautiful face!" Pygar airlifting the two to safety: "An angel has no memory." And of course Duran Duran's manic laugh near the end -chilling I'm sure. As you can see,the writers were obviously up to their eyeballs on hallucinogenic drugs, and I can only imagine the audiences of the late sixties watching it on the same substances... Barbarella is possibly one of the stupidest films ever seen by man and an experience you ain't gonna forget. WATCH IT! It's like, trippy man.

Summary: a once in a lifetime experience
Review: Ah! To see the extravagence of Barbarella for the first time.I remember my first time. I could not have imagined Jane Fonda as a wonton sex kitten. This is a lush treasure from a simpler time , when costumes didn't have to cover you to be good.Like, can you dig it?

Summary: de laurentiis strikes again!
Review: Another camp Dino De Laurentiis comic re-make of the famous french comic - a forerunner to his re-make of 'Flash Gordon'. "Brian Blessed as an angel - I don't think so". Maestro Brell (NZPS) END

Summary: Camp classic fans take note: Barberalla is the real stuff.
Review: This film, though not particularly great, is mildly entertaining. If you are a die hard fan of Jane Fonda in films like Agnes of God, it may be worth a laugh to see her when her career as a serious actress wasn't going so well. The air of 60's psychodelia lends a certain charm to the film. At the very least, fast forward to the scene where Fonda is forced to edure a high powered musical sex machine designed to kill its victims. Though not necessarily memorable in terms of dramatic intensity or acting ability, you won't forget it. END

Summary: Hanoi Jane in her best role
Review: The only movie she ever made that I can sit through.

Summary: A trip
Review: This movie is a trip. In spite of what agenda-driven, right-wingers have to say about it, based on their personal dislike for Jane Fonda and her oppinions of the Vietnam war, this movie is a true classic. It's campy to a point that it makes you think how serious, pragmatic and booring people have become over the past decades. It's a total groovie trip. It doesn't take itself seriously at any moment. And best of all, it actually has lines to read between.
