Summary: Finally a movie that just completely kicks butt.
Review: When you've had enough of lame American "action" movies, it's time for Riki-Oh. It's like the difference between throwing a bullet and shooting it. My wife almost freaked out when the first really violent thing happened (when the guy was thrown down onto the board with the nails sticking out) but by the end we were both roaring with laughter and I didn't want the movie to end. One nice thing about this movie is that you are not going to have a weak opinion about it. You are going either totally hate it and have no use for it, or, like me, you are going to be wildly enthusiastic and think it is the greatest thing you have ever seen. This movie even beats out the Evil Dead.

Summary: Gory fighting and that is it...
Review: Story of Ricky is set in the near future when prisons are run like franchised companies. The main character, Riki, is sent to one of these prisons where his superior martial arts skills help keep him alive as he finds out that the prison is run by a corrupt warden and four powerful prisoners. Story of Ricky is a carnival of gore and martial arts which often becomes nauseating. The story is not the main event in this film, but rather the ultra violence is what keeps the audience's attention. There is a feeble attempt to display Riki's sensitive side, however, this becomes abundantly awkward. In addition, the poor cinematography, mise-en-scene, sound, acting, voice over, and music makes this a terrible cinematic experience.

Summary: Gratuitous Hong Kong Action Blowout
Review: What more can be said about this (literally) eye-popping kung fu/fantasy/gore opus? Absurdly violent scenes that define the word 'gratuitous' appearing at 1,1/2 minute intervals, cheap yet goofily creative special effects, moronic dialogue rendered more ridiculous by incompetent dubbing, and half-assed moral posturing - sounds like my idea of a great time. With alarmingly frequent eye-gougings, dogs kicked in half, and faces reduced to fist-shaped craters, this movie really must be seen to be believed. This is a very nice widescreen DVD transfer, although the only extras are some trailers (one for Ricky and three for other HK action films). It's interesting to note that the DVD allows you to run both the subtitles and dubbing simultaneously, allowing you to compare how wildly different they are.

Summary: Give me a break
Review: I guess I was expecting more from this movie considering all the hype I've heard about it. But this movie just didn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, it was good for a laugh or two but as far as the quality of the movie-it was completely horrible. The special effects looked like they went out and bought some fake body parts from a costume and joke shop, then picked up a few cans of chung-king and there you have it. None of the gore was even remotely realistic. This movie does not even come close in quality of gore or movie making in general to that of DeadAlive, Re-Animator or even Zombie for that matter. I guess Rikki-Oh is a movie you would have to see to believe, but I would see if a friend has a copy or try renting it before you buy. I paid $30 dollars for mine and felt like kicking myself after I saw the movie. It is now just a novelty item in my collection.

Summary: Oh my...
Review: Really, there isn't anything I can tell you about this movie that hasn't already been said. This is one of the most wacked out movies in history. Riki is a very angry person...and a violent one to boot. The way he punches the tops of peoples heads off baffles me to this day. Watch this movie with some of your friends just to get their reaction(s). Do you remember when Craig Kilborn was the host of The Daily show? Well the clip of the guy's head getting crushed was from this movie.

A funny fact- the menus of this dvd have better quality than the film itself. But come on, this is RIKI-OH, THE ULTIMATE G MOVIE. (yes, it's lower than a B movie. So low that it goes lower into the alphabet)

Summary: MY GOD
Review: This IS a must see if you like gory movies, action films, b-movies, prison films or your just an idiot(e.g. me and my friends.)This film doesn't have much of a plot but who gives a sh*t! I guarantee this is the only movie you will see a person use HIS OWN ORGANS to strangle someone. There are many colorful characters and its gory but funny gory not like House of 1000 corpses which disgusted even me. that takes skills. Buy the unrated version the R-Rated version is bad out the a$$

Summary: OH Ricky!
Review: Well, I finally got ahold of this gem on DVD and suffice to say, it lives up to its hype. With only one particularly fake looking sequence near the beginning, the effects are pretty sick n' twisted... nice use of intestines as a garrote I must say. This movie ranks up there with the best of Asian Gross-Out Cinema ("Untold Story," "Audition") and would be a great double-bill with either "Master of the Flying Guillotine" or "Escape From New York" (futuristic prison setting that doesn't look the least bit futuristic is pretty funny on its own). A definite must own for gorehounds, and an excellent party DVD for gatherings where no one expects something like this. Bring the bloody Chex-Mix and some breath mints!!

Summary: Riki-Oh is funny stuff
Review: Riki-Oh starts stupid and looks like a mystery science theater movie, but it quickly improves the moment blood begins shooting all over. it may seem gross, but it is impossible to take in context and will have you laughing at dismemberment and disembowelment like you've never laughed at dismemeberment and disembowelment before. and its twice and funny since its dubbed in crappy voices, and he is portrayed as a nice person.

Summary: Coolest scenes in any martial arts movie.
Review: This movie has the coolest scenes in it. My favorite is when Oscar, a jailhouse bully, decides that he cannot defeat Riki. Sooooo he cuts out his own guts to commit suicide. As Riki races to help the injured man, Oscar decides against killing himself and proceeds to strangle Riki with his own disembowled intestines. You just cant beat it. Also it has the best prison break in cinema history. The movie so nice they named it twice, check it out one time won't you.
