Summary: What can I say
Review: What can I possibly say that hasn't already been said. Great movie that open my eyes to just how great it could be to fulfill fantasies and the consequences that not saying how you feel can have. Granted when I first was the movie I was a 17 year old college freshman and still very virginal. The music for the movie was just as good as the movie. A must own for anyone who likes Mickey.

Summary: favorite movie
Review: The visual imagery is incredible. The script is well written, with the strength of male and female personalities nicely balanced. Both Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke are rightly cast. An intriguing story with erotic sex scenes.

Summary: Great movie
Review: While not having seen the first 4 or 5 minutes of this movie, it is quite a piece of artwork. Yes, most people recognize this movie for its complete roll on of sex scenes, and well, they are mighty fine. But the theatrical work of this movie is something else. I don't quite know what it is. There is something about the relationship between the two lovers that just make this movie a charm. I would recommend this movie to just about anybody that wants to see a mature, and sophisticated movie that can handle the drama.

Summary: 9 1/2 weeks
Review: Almost a hundred of 9 1/2 weeks have passed since this movie has become my favorite of all. It still is.
It's 9 and a half weeks that John's relationship lasts with the most attractive Elizabeth. It's 9 and a half weeks of a true love experience Elizabeth and John have but it's Elizabeth who feels that true love as for John and his show off Wall Street man personality all this seems to be a true game. He plays up with Elizabeth's feelings up to the moment when he loses her forever and sadly it is then that John realises how much he really loved her too.

It's definitely not a porn movie, and if it includes erotic scenes so what? Don't we all make love that way when we are in love as badly as John and Elizabeth are? But people as people they always tend to see bad things before the good ones and in this movie there is not one single bad thing (it's just people have to say something different from others) excluding John's silly games with the love of his life.

Absolutely a must have movie.

Summary: Plays like a dark indie film...
Review: instead of a flashy Hollywood style film. Excellent photography of NYC, and the rain filled scenes are wonderful to look at and reflect on. The music is all 80's, of course, the film was shot in '85. But the music still holds up today and flows with the erotic scenes as well as all the scenes. The movie may look like it promises sexual fireworks, depending on what you're looking for, and this may be why many critics wrote it off as being a big tease. But, there's other aspecs to focus on here: Rourke, an excellent actor, shines as an obsessive, secretive, sexual wacko with no rhyme or reason for his behavior. And Basinger may come across as a dumb blonde, but she played a very gutsy role. In fact, there's not much of a story here, but you know what? I don't think the producers, etc. intended there to be. Maybe it's what the critics claimed it to be: A tease. Maybe the joke's on us? I give it *** stars. Very surreal atmosphere, and brave performances by the two stars make this a film that will stand the test of time.

Summary: Very strange romance
Review: This is a very peculiar movie. It may have been intensely erotic/a blue movie back in the 80's but today it passes as being only slightly more sexual than mid-afternoon MTV. But that aside (which is really neither a pro nor con) the film is well acted and has an interesting story line, which basically focus' around a man who has previously not known what it is to love and when he does fall in love isn't sure how to handle himself. This results in some very awkward, bizzare scenes. That said, if you are into strange romances, get it.

Summary: Kim Basinger fans beware...
Review: As you probably have guessed from my review title, I am somewhat of a Kim Basinger fan and so the extra star I'm giving for this review goes to her. She has the looks and the acting skills which pretty much gaurantees success for any actress. So I was up one night channel surfing and I came across this 9 1/2 Weeks movie. I figured since there was nothing else on I would go ahead and watch it. Well, despite the bit of sleazy content I couldn't really identify what the actual plot was. My only guess is that Mickey Rourke is trying to get Kim Basinger to see the erotic side of art pictures along with having a relationship with her that is only based on sex. Aside from this mediocre plot, the rest of 9 1/2 Weeks seems to drag. I can't imagine the sequel to this movie being any better or any worse for that matter.

Summary: Eye candy
Review: This film has some disturbing implications, possibly misogynistic, but is worth watching for its visual beauty, not to mention Kim Basinger's beauty. It looks like a 2 hour long perfume commercial, very stylish and attractive, well-edited, not many slow moments. All in all, though, it's just a slightly more risque bad-relationship movie.

A more disturbing film about sexuality, and of much higher artistic quality, is Bernardo Bertolucci's "Last Tango In Paris."

Summary: MY FAVORITE EROTIC MOVIE
Review: I love this movie and have seen it countless times! Mickey Rourke is in his prime in this film and after watching it you long for the "BAD BOY!" Kim Basinger is fabulous as "Elizabeth" and its like magic watching her character unfold in this movie!
