Summary: A movie-buff with nothing better to do
Review: This is a great DVD to own whether you're a dvd collector, or just like the movie. There are a bunch of deleted scenes to watch that are explained by Oliver Stone (some deleted scenes include Ashley Judd & Denis Leary)and a music video by Nine Inch Nails.
If you don't have it, get it.
Just 'cause I said it's good!!! ;)

Summary: Oliver Stone vs. Quentin Tarantino
Review: Oliver Stone is a director who loves shocking, bizarre imagery and enjoys the use of strange lightng, a variety of film stocks, and quite often too many cuts. This worked vary well in the movie The Doors. He toned it down enough to where it did not hurt the overall effect of Nixon or Platoon but it practically killed the otherwise decent U-Turn. In this movie, like U-Turn,it is just plain awful. While there are a few, well, very few good scenes, like the Rodney Dangerfield cameo, for the most part they just seem over indulgent.
Quentin Tarantino has far fewer films but is much better at making movies. The original script that Tarantino wrote succeeded at exploring all the things Oliver Stone has said this movie was about. That is the media's glorification of violence and our consequential desensitization to it.
But the heavily rewritten version that Stone made was basically a moderately entertaining exploitation film with a couple of anti heroes that it is okay to like because the bad things they do aren't there fault.

Summary: Oliver Stone's Greatest
Review: I must admit I am biased, as I have evry one of Oliver Stone's films, either as a screen writer or director.

I have just finished watching "Natural Born Killers" once again, and am compelled to advise potential customers to buy it.

The story of Mickey and Mallory is a dark satire not seen since Warren Beatty's "Bonnie and Clyde" of 1967.

What a searing indictment of American pop culture. Stone is not really American in his feel for cinema, but European. I personally think that is why he makes so many Americans uncomfortable.

20 years from now, people will still be discussing "Natural Born Killers", as well as the rest of Stone's work. At least you can say it is not the usual Hollywood drivel.

Summary: Padding the Ratings?
Review: Why does this reviewer Jason feel the need to submit the same review every two months? What's the deal pal?

This is one of my favorite movies of all time, but that is not important. You've probably seen the movie if you're reading this. The deleted scenes are funny, but definitely deleted for a reason. Buy this to own the movie only, not the extras.

This is a sick movie for sick people... ha ha... no, looks like someone else didn't quite get it. There is a message here, and the graphic nature of the film just drives home the point. This is what America wants to see. And the media can make anyone a pop icon. We live in a world of advertising. This movie is far deeper than a slasher gore flick. But that should be clear to most people who actually cared to understand the film.

Summary: Have another shroom Mickey!
Review: Well, you either love or hate this movie and I didnt much care for it much either the first time I caught it. But, about 20 viewings later I'd have to say I'm sort of hooked. Some people just dont get it, and that's understandable. The comedy is way over the top. Just hilarious. Both Woody and Tommy Lee Jones said this was their favorite film and I'm not gonna argue with that. Probably the most brilliant and creative movie of all time, and that's a bold statement but this wild masterpiece backs it up. And maybe the intent was not to glorify violence, but to shock the collective viewer both internal and external to the film to a higher state of consciousness? Who knows, and who cares. This is a landmark film and deserves more attention and respect than it got. 5 Rattlers.

Summary: Mental Masturb******
Review: This film is clearly a directors attempt to take full creative license at the expense of the paying customer. I hope Stone has gotten this woe-begone attempt at artful representation out of his system... If a director wished to make an artistic comment, would choosing the so-called story of two gratuitous pathelogical murderers be the proper vehicle? This perhaps would've worked in the 60's, but lets get with the times Mr. Stone...and STOP wasting my time...chump!!

Summary: Great Movie!
Review: I must say this movie is great. The movie starts off a little slow but once it gets started it keeps on going. The movie does glorify the concept of violence. It also explains to us that sometimes society feels the need to explain violence. This is explored in the short lasted TV interview toward the end of the film(I will leave it a surprise). This movie follows two killers through their rampage across country. The duo can be compared to Bonnie and Clyde in many ways. I gave the movie a four because it is hard to get into. I must say I tried to watch it several times before I was actually able to watch the whole thing. For anyone who buys it, stick with it and you'll get into. I know I did.

Summary: WIll stand the test of time
Review: Two observations:

1) The people who dislike this movie because of the violence are the targets of the satire. Naturally, they give it bad reviews, because it makes fun of them.

2) It has been argued that this movie causes people to think violence is glorified and cool, but isn't that the point that the movie is trying to make about the media? This movie may have unintended consequences on children viewers, but it was made for adults and given an R rating, so kids shouldn't be watching it anyway. I can't find any argument as to why the movie is bad, except for the violence issue, and I think that a well informed and intelligent viewer can see the satire as it is.

Summary: Psychedelic serial killer tale
Review: The Oscar winning Oliver Stone directed this, in a very strange style, with quick cuts, fancy angles, black and white, neon colors, animation, alternate backgrounds, etc. It may take awhile to get used to for some, but it makes the film very stylish. The film is about two lovers who go on killing people in towns along a desert highway. Of course the media make them stars, and they are the talk of the country. Every channel covers their story, and books are written about them. They are finally caught, and are soon to be executed. But a high profile TV show host, realizes the kinda money he can make, having a last interview with them.

The acting is good, as well is the script. The film has a lot of funny parts. Its an interesting story about how two murderous people, find a way to stop. But what the film is really about is how the media, and public eat these crime stories up, and constantly talk about, and watch them. For a lot of people it may hit to close to home, and a lot of this film will offend many. There is a lot of violence, and language. It also doesn't have your classic Hollywood ending. Like the main character says, this is the 90s (now 21st century), and the truth isn't always what is right.

This disc also has deleted scenes, including an alternate ending with commentary by the director. There is also an interesting documentary, and audio commentary. Like I said this film is not for most people, but for those not afraid of alternative films that criticize what is popular (and hypocritical), this will be a treat. Good satire, even though the directing may make you a little dizzy afterwards, I highly recommend this, 5 stars.
