Summary: rare footage makes it worth it
Review: This is sort of a documentary on Hendrix's life and death by his girlfriends, other musicians, and the man himself! Great acoustic solo of "Hear my Train" on the 12-string in it's entirety. Clips of "The Dick Cavet Show" and a little playing footage. Even a video they shot for "Foxy Lady". Definitely worth it for the price - hence 5 stars.

Summary: a mature and educational tribute to this legend of R R
Review: This isn't a concert video. It resembles scores of other Documentaries but it has many excellent pieces of concerts. The technical side of the video is very good. The best part is that this video is longer than most Rock videos.A professional movie about the great Jimi Hendrix. Any fan would appreciate this.

Summary: the sound of the universe
Review: This movie changed the way i thought and felt about Hendrix. I had been a fan before, but as many of us who were born long after jimi stopped playing, it was hard to get a sense of him as a performer and a personality in his own space and in his own time. This movie was just absolutely phenomenal in recreating Jimi through the footage and incredibly storytelling by his friends and family. It actually made my cry, I was so sad after watching it that *i* would never see Jimi perform live and on stage, channeling the sound of the universe.

Summary: The first Jimi documentary
Review: This movie provides footage from the Monterrey, Woodstock, and Isle of Wight festivals as well as interviews with various artists (Look for Townshend wearing the plaid jacket. It's very 70s :)) It provides insight from Jimi's days on the Chitlin Circuit to his death. Little Richard steals the movie with his stories of Jimi playing in his band. This ranks up their with the Grammy Award winning Live At the Fillmore East documentary and the VH1 special on the making of Electric Ladyland.
