Summary: Clintons true colors?
Review: Did you believe the lie? Forty three percent of the voting public did. Love Bill Clinton or dislike the man this shows his true colors. James Carville and George Stephanopoulos honestly believed this Governor of Arkansas was going to change the world. He did, and it's a fascinating debate as to how good or bad it turned out!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Must-see for politicos
Review: Engaging documentary that focuses mainly on James Carville and his passion for the Clinton campaign of '92. It's interesting to get a glimpse of what really goes on behind the scenes and it is fun to see the main players reacting to George Bush's campaign.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: excellent documentary of the 1992 presidential elections
Review: Great documentary of the presidential election of 1992 that was split into three different candidates: Bill Clinton, Ross Perot, and George Bush. The film gives a great view of the actions of a political campaign and everything that is performed to secure election. Recommended for any person with an interest in political science and/or running for political office.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Very Interesting, but too One Sided!!!
Review: Great for political junkies like me, but they should have shown more of the other campaigns as well. This video puts Clinton on a pedastal like everything said is just right-wing spin..LOL.
Rent it or borrow from the library.

Summary: Good -- Quick -- Reasonably Balanced
Review: I admit to purchasing it even though I didn't really want to see it. I figured it would be just a pro-Clinton hack job. It is actually reasonably balanced given that it is after all about Clinton's 92 campaign. It flows quite quickly and gives an interesting perspective on a presidential campaign. I enjoyed getting a background peek at meetings and behind the presidential debates. For some reason I enjoyed watching something so simple as Clinton trying to decide which tie to wear for one of the debates. I struggled with not knowing who people were, or where the meetings were, or on when during the campaign the events were taking place, but admit that tossing the text in as a "subtitle" on the screen to explain those details may have taken away from the first-person feel of the documentary.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Great story, sanitized telling
Review: I am disappointed about the way this film handles the back office of the Clinton campaign. Having already watched a British TV program on James Carville and his team, I wanted to get a better insight about these people. Specifically, I was looking for a fair view of where this giant of politics called James Carville made mistakes and how he made sure the team got out of the pit each time. I found little toward that. I thought the film was sanitized for political purposes so much so I was left with the feeling that a lot of stuff was cut out.

Summary: Exceptional Presidential Campaign behind the scenes look
Review: I bought this DVD and have watched it several times, and never tire of it. This is a riveting true life behind the scenes look at the not so glamorous hard work that goes into a presidential campaign. This documentary shows the emotional highs and lows of what it really takes to win. James Carville was truly the mastermind of Clinton's win in 1992 and his forsight of what it took to run a presidential campaign was quite impressive. Loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the real political process.

Summary: Great Video
Review: I enjoyed seeing the inside of the political game. James Carville is a character and George Stepanoplous is interesting to watch work.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A well-done documentary
Review: I give it five stars for the technical aspects, 2 stars for the subject matter. As another reviewer wrote, you get the sense after watching this of "Is that all there is?". What I saw was a campaign constantly playing "defense" and a media frothing at the mouth for any parsing of words, any "scandal" etc etc etc. The bottom line is that neither side is as smart as they think they are.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An Excellent Look at Political Campaigns
Review: I happened to catch this documentary as I was reading "My Life" by Bill Clinton, it brought to life all of the hustle and bustle of his first Presidental campaign.

The real people involved in Clinton's first campaign for President are better characters than most actors. James Carville and George Stephanopoulos are the main focus of this film and they are true heroes. Clinton has moments where he shows all of his Southern charm but the real workhorses are Carville and Stephanopoulos who brave polls, reporters and other anti-Clinton politicians. It is an insiders view on how a campaign is won or lost behind the scenes just as easily as in front of all America. But is does make you question if the person who ends up in office is all they are cracked up to be or just a puppet pulled by the strings attached to his campaign managers.

A great film to watch if you love politics or if you are reading Bill Clinton's book. It gives an honest representation of how the wheels spin and the tides change at a moments notice. This film will convince you that political campaigns are calculated almost as professionally as a war and can take on the same persona.
