Summary: Problem with remote
Review: After ten months of usage, remote control won't work. So far, so good in terms of playing DVDs. I got two more months???

Summary: Good-will quit working 1 year later
Review: For $40, this thing will work for 1 year and self destruct (from what I hear). Mine will not turn on within weeks of the 1 year. Good features otherwise. Looking for another DVD player here.

Summary: Works Great
Review: I bought a dvd package Dec. 2002 at Best Buy and recieved a cyberhome DVD player for free. I gave the entire set as a gift but after a year of hearing about the reliability and versitility of thier player I had to have one. I picked this one because it plays the largest list of formates I've seen. They all work. I've used JPEG pictures, and multiple VCD's and SVCD's. This seems to be my most versitle DVD player. 1 downside. Thier is no fiber optics sound line. I can easily get over this limitation.

Summary: This Dvd player
Review: I got this DVD player last christmas and is still working great. At times it is hard to use the remote, like in a dark place because all the buttons are the same size and shape. It can also be loud and take a while to open and close, and to start the movie. I reccommend it for bedrooms that dont use it that oftem, any other room and you should buy a better one.

Summary: R.I.P. 2003-2004
Review: I got this DVD player less than a year ago. It worked great until it suddenly and unexpectedly died. Completely dead, won't even turn on. And to make it even better, it died with one of my DVD's inside, and there's no way to get it out. So if you're looking for a disposable DVD player that will possibly take permanent posession one of your movies when it dies, this would be a good choice. Otherwise, you might want to find another option.

Summary: Noisy Bugger but Plays EVERYTHING
Review: I noticed an old review that mentioned that it was a noisy player. This explains that mine wasn’t the only one. Its laser read noise can be loud at night especially when things are quieter but during the day with the Surround Sound on you don’t even notice it. First off it’s a tiny player, nice and compact. The remote is a joke and completely useless. I cannot wait to find a universal remote that works with this. The reason I bought it was for its Multiregion capabilities. Comes in handy when popping in Region 2 and 3 discs that other DVD players and the PS2 will spit out. Also this unit plays everything! VCD,SVCD,CDR,MP3 disc's,DVDR.DVD+R.DVD+RW etc etc!! It even has a Slide Show for Picture CD's!! Plays all my burned movies without a hitch, even the ones that my other DVD player, My Pc player and the PS2 spits back out saying it is unreadable. Not the Cyberhome!A great unit for the price. I usually only use it to play burned disc's and picture disc’s so I hope it's longevity is better than most reviews here. A great unit for the price! Good Points=Small, Plays anything, tons of features! Negatives=noisy laser reading noise, remote is just dumb.

Summary: DONT BUY IT
Review: I ordered this one the day after Thanksgiving last year, and here I am shopping for another player. It did not even last a year. Go ahead and spend the extra money to get something that will last.

Summary: Exactly a year
Review: I purchased this DVD player in mid-January last year. It worked well all year and died last weekend. Not bad for the price. The only complaint I had before it died was the humming sound, it's quite loud, but you get what you pay for. I probably won't buy another, but I feel it was probably worth the money.

Summary: good buy
Review: I received this dvd player as a gift for xmas and its been pretty good. My only complaint is that the batteries for the remote are not the common "AA" or "AAA". I don't even recognize them. that means there probably a little costly; but other wise I've had no problems and the picture quality seems fine.

Summary: Fine performance and excellent value
Review: I wanted a multi-region DVD player to replace an ailing 5 year-old Philips, this player has surpassed my expectations. Very compact size, the lack of a display is not a material handicap as the on-screen messages are clear. The player has shown no difficulty with at least three regions to date (use the region override explained in other reviews here). Set-up is simple and allows you to change the output screen size, perfect for my widescreen. Plenty of cable outputs and while the remote is fiddly, it has good functionality - eg. the separate button for sub-titles. Picture quality is as good as I have seen with DVD. Why spend more?
