Summary: blucube
Review: this dvd player is an absolute waste of money. this was my first player and maybe my last. granted it was cheap but i did expect it to last more than a week. now dvds that i've watched already will not even load. strangly enough it still plays cds. unfortunately i already have a cd player, i wanted a dvd player. i never had problems with my vcr, i think i'll stick with that a little longer.

Summary: No need to buy both widescreen AND fullscreen !
Review: This model Apex has a unique full screen zoom function that enlarges widescreen pictures to the size of a full screen movie! So now you don't have to waste money on two disks of the same movie.

The remote is extremely user friendly. You can toggle between the different picture settings just by pressing one button on the remote. YOU DON'T HAVE TO STOP THE MOVIE. Same thing for the sound options. You can toggle through the different sound/language options just by pressing a button on the remote. YOU DON'T HAVE TO STOP THE MOVIE.

The back of the deck has all the latest plugs for optimal video. It even has coaxial and optical plugs for superb audio.

Don't listen any of the previous bad reviews. This plays scratched disks perfectly fine, no freezing at all. Much better than my older RCA player which always freezes on scratched disks.

Summary: Worst DVD Player ever
Review: This must be the fifth DVD player I've ever owned, yet it is the first I've ever felt compelled to write about. It worked fine for about a month, then quickly started to disintegrate. While it can play and recognize DVD-R, DVD-RW and the like, it skips constantly, even playing normal pressed dvds. Sometimes it will just lock-up for no reason, usually when you're fast forwarding. CDs play fine, as do MP3s (If you can deal with the horrible menu). Do yourself a favor and buy a brand-name item.

Summary: Don't be suprised.
Review: When it comes to the Apex AD-1225 DVD Player don't be surprised if it fails on you within a year upon buying it. Mine lasted approximately 7 months before destroying a DVD and failing to work again. I must say I did enjoy the DVD player due to its small size and it's low weight. I also enjoyed the buttons and the usability of the machine. It was not difficult to use and the remote was also simple in design. Nevertheless I cannot discount that 7 months of use was not worth the loss of a DVD and the cost of the product and a replacement. Please be forewarned and take this into consideration.
