Summary: Daewoo - you get what you pay for
Review: Every DVD we tried freezes for a few seconds and then "catches up" but jumping ahead. This happens every few minutes throughout the movies. Definitely do not buy this item no matter how tempted you are by the price -- pay a little more, it will be well worth it!

Summary: Finding the rainbow.
Review: Finally, I have found the rainbow in the sky.
This DVD player has done this job exceptionally well.
It gave me an opportunity in seeing the most colorful rainbow.

How? You just have to slip in a DVD/VCD.
And you will see the "best" quality signal coming out of your screen. Be aware, don't get too excited. It's only thursday night.

The outlook and the ability of this DVD player can be compared to any other "big brand" DVD players. Not only is the price attractive but the functions embedded are user-friendly. I actually brought this product two weeks ago, and now I am planning to buy a second one for my parents.

Lastly, just one thing you might want to be aware of is this product's dimensions. This DVD player is fairly wide (lengthy), so if you don't have much space. You might just want to choose another one within this website.

Summary: Looks like hit or miss.........
Review: First of all, I didn't buy off of Amazon but got the same price from Sams Club-and it's black. Mine works great. I especially like the MP3 playback, it handles folders like a Windows environment would. Just pick a folder and it will play the songs. DVDs and CDs as well as my CD-Rs play with no problem. Reading the other reviews make me think that it pretty much a Daewoo quality control issue.

Summary: Problematic....
Review: Hi All,
I saw the 5 star rating for this player and ordered it, but it didnt work at all. First the DVD tray refused to open. The player went on a continous loop(automatically) trying to open the tray but didnt open. Then miraclously it open after around 20 minutes of trying. I inserted a DVD and a message "no disc" showed up, so it didnt play that disc. i tried again inserting the DVD second time , no luck.. I tried with two other DVD's but still the player always indicated no disc.
I am returning the player...Will never buy a Daewoo product..
Pros.
1.) looks great, i got a silver colored player, even though the picture ... showed a black outer color.
2.) RCA type wire was included, and remote is sleek and light.
Cons.
1.) Didn't work at all.

Summary: Should be no stars
Review: How aggravating...If you like freeze frame all the time
on 75% of all DVDs then this is the product for you.
I wanted a simple..functional DVD player. My Ps2 works
better. I'm going to try to send mine in.

Summary: Playback problems with music sound tracks.
Review: I found this unit to have major problems when playing a movie with a music sound track. The player could not decode the information fast enough, and the movie will pause and resume several times during the songs. For this reason alone I rate this product unacceptable.

Summary: Piece of ... - dont waste your time
Review: I had to return 2 units because they refused to play DVDs properly -- lots of stuttering and pausing in DVDs like Romeo+Juliet. Spend a bit more and get something better.

Summary: All I expected and more!
Review: I have had no problems whatsoever with this DVD player. It has played every DVD I put into it flawlessly, with excellent picture and sound quality. It is sleek and attractive [so is the remote], and works very, very well. I am very happy with this DVD player.

Summary: Terrible Terrible Episode
Review: I personally bought this item today ... ....Now of course every knows you get what you pay for...but in my opinion it should have cost $... ...not $.... Once I arrived at my house and unpackaged my new Daewoo dvd player...I started plugging in all the rca's, power, etc....First off, I started with some VCD's of home movies I recorded on cd-r's....Then some VCD's that I recorded on cd-rw's...Both worked perfectly...I was starting to get impressed...Then I tried a cd with MP3's...no luck...no luck at all..It did recognize the disc...but failed to load anything on the disc..In fact it froze up...I later tried a music cd and had much success....So finally...I tried the DVD's and what a nightmare...A movie would play for about 2 seconds before the player froze...I was attempting to watch Hannibal....I tried several other movies with the same results...I then tried the dvd's in my dvd player in the living room...and they worked perfectly! I do have to say all the options and different formats are worth the price of $... ....But...BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the quality you get...It is surely not worth $... ...Just my thoughts.... ...

Summary: A happy customer so far?
Review: I understand a lot of people are upset about this product. I was, too, when I first began playing Gladiator.
Apparently, all of the movement and action in the opening scene was too much for the little box to handle without making it look extremely choppy. I found a solution, however...
Originally, I had hooked the DVD output to my VCR, which, in turn, fed into my TV. I found that the signal was much more clear if I connected the DVD directly to my TV's video input.
