Summary: Eminem Rokz!!!!
Review: ok one of the reasons i bought this dvd was b/c eminem was in it. i'm a big fan of his.
but this movie totally rox!!! even if eminem wasn't in it. i love all the rap battles in it. sure, a few parts were quite disgusting(i'm only 13), but it was good overall. definitely a must-buy for die-hard eminem fans!

Summary: What a waste of time
Review: What's the difference between this film and "Cool As Ice" starring Vanilla Ice? This film has a better soundtrack. The only redeeming quality of it, is that there's a catchy tune during the end credits. The plot went nowhere, and character development was very underdone.

10 years from now, people will hear the plot of this film and scoff at it at the video store. A white guy trying to get respect by winning a "rap battle." Yes folks, a "rap battle." These gangstas don't use guns to take out the enemy, they use raps. What a ridiculous film. Eminem needs to stick to singing and stay away from serious endeavours such as acting. Although this film was so poorly directed and had such a laughable screenplay that it didn't matter how good the atcing was.

Review: This film could be tedious for some people, but if you like to listen or do"RAP", I will strongly recommend you to watch this film.

Summary: Powerful!

Also, the Superman video in the special features section is great!

Summary: Hmmm, very interesting
Review: Isn't it funny how every person who gave this movie under 3 stars clearly never saw it? Every 1 or 2 star review just rants about how Eminem is bad for society or some crap like that having nothing to do with how well the plot was created or anything directly related to 8 Mile.

It's sad, really. I pity people like that.

Summary: Eminem is a genius! Stellar Film!
Review: While many people are obsessed with Eminem's trashy lyrics, however, he is simply a genius. Prince was genius in pop; Eminem is a genius in rap. Little plot, but it showcases Eminem's brilliant rhapsodies and rap. "Lose Yourself" was just simply the best rap that had a depth of meaning and was soooo true. Take your shot, make the moment, lose yourself in whatever it is you do was the message. Let's just hope Eminem stays out of drugs and becomes next Prince (of rap), and maybe a good actor too. Objectivity: Eminem does capture the desire of young white men to become black (African-American to be politically correct) brilliantly. Worth a watch just to see Eminem perform his rap banters. -Felecia Constance Rowe

Review: I bought this before actually seeing it. I was bored outta my mind the first time watchin' it... here's me watching it again...

And finally, the battle at the end... the only entertaining scene in the entire movie...

Eminem is boring. The dialogue is moronic. Rabbit's friends are ugly lame losers. Who the hell would hang out with that moron Cheddar Bob? DJ Ears... what an original name... can't remember that fat dudes name. And Future just took that name cuz nobody else would want it. It's funny when this collection of thug-wannabe, homeless losers try to beat the cr@p outta those slighty less lame freestylers 'The Free World'. Cheddar Bob shoots himself in the leg with his mom's gun... oh well, Bob is still badder than that balloon-head Poppa Doc. What a stupid name. Oh, and let's check out THE BADDIES NAMES! There's Lickity Split (so menacing), Lotto (what the hell????) and yes, the ringleader, Poppa Doc... whose very name strikes fear in the hearts of trailer-park scum all across the land...

So boring. So useless. 8 Mile is Karate-Kid for suburban 'gangstas'.

Summary: Garbage
Review: What is the world coming to? To watch this poor excuse for a movie is to feel ashamed to be a member of the human race. M&M's character has a lousy life and an alcoholic mother, but is that any reason to turn to rap music? This movie has no plot, little acting, lousy, stilted dialogue and all-in-all is a load of unmitigated garbage. I feel sorry for those who worked on this picture. Now they've got it on their resume. You know what I'm saying??!!

Summary: Caught Me Off Guard
Review: I originally dismissed this as another "musician trying to break into acting movie," and since I don't really care for rap, I was just going to skip this one altogether. But I decided to give it a shot, and was very surprised at how good this movie is. Eminem gives an entirely convicing portrayal of Rabbit, and the movie also conveys his desperate situation expertly. If I had to compare "8 Mile" to another classic movie, I'd have to choose "Rocky."

Summary: Eminem CAN ACT!
Review: This is his first movie, and he is a GOOD ACTOR! He never acted in his WHOLE LIFE, and yet he did it like he has been doing it all his life. 8 Mile is a jewel of a movie, the acting by Eminem is just good. The story is kind of weak, but darn good acting by Marshall Mathers, and Kim Bashinger.
The story takes place in Detroit in 1995. Eminem plays a white boy rapper named "Rabbit". This is not his biography, but it is based loosly on his life. Now has "Rabbit" comes up, he is working in a steel mill trying to make some money. His girlfriend breaks up with him and he lives with his mother, (played by Kim Bashinger) which he catches her and her boyfriend having sexual relations. Her boyfriend is a drunk who lives off Workers Comp, and he has a sister who is a beautiful little girl.
Now his friends know that he can rap, but he chokes on stage, and he gets booed off. Now when they are rapping, one click that claims to be the best out there, they are beefing, and they get into fights. Brittany Murphy plays Eminems love interest, but at a local radio station, he see's Murphy getting it on with his so-called friend who hangs out with the click that Em's got beef with. He then whoops him, and they come after him and they jump him in front of his house.
Em then decides that he wants to battle them, he does and he is declared champion in the small club.
The movie is good, and if you are an Eminem fan, then buy the DVD, trust me, it is good.
