Summary: Well-acted look at a man who can't run from his nature
Review: This movie isn't for everyone. It's very bleak and sad. But it is an extremely well-acted film with real emotional power. I've never seen another film that deals so well with the lasting, misunderstood legacy of abuse. And with the sad reality that not everyone escapes from their own troubled nature.

Summary: It didn't even have any songs by limp bizkit in it.
Review: I thought it was bad, it did not have any songs in it by limp bizkit and they were not even in it, only pictures

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: This video sucked!!!
Review: This is an UNAUTHORIZED VIDEO. They interviewed people who "know" the band members. They don't actually interview the band. The only time they show the band is with still pictures.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: rip off
Review: This is not the official Limp Bizkit movie. The official one is called "Poop". As soon as you put in this tape a message appears saying this tape contains no music or performance by Limp Bizkit. It's a homemade documentary about people who know Limp Bizkit. RIP OFF!!!!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: What was the point of this?
Review: If you like limp bizkit I do not recommend this video since all it does is tell you about the band. You never get to see or hear the band.

Summary: don't buy it!!!!
Review: This video totally sucks. It doesn't interview anybody from the band. It doesn't even show them in concert. The closest thing to get to the band limp bizkit are still pictures and that's all this video is a rip off!!!

Summary: Definitely not a date-flick.
Review: I'll say this: this film is pretty good for Schrader, which means that a director with a better sense of pacing would have done this material much better. But, we got what we got. It's certainly devoid of sentimentality: perhaps Schrader's best virtue is that he doesn't pander to an audience. The proceedings are in-your-face and austere in the extreme. I'm still unsure what to think of Mr. Nolte's performance: it's the same old Nolte performance, only with more misery. But here, that just might be okay. Wish he'd get his voice-box operated on, though -- it's getting hard to understand what he's saying. All in all, that Mt. Rushmore face and gravelly voice in all that misery might be more than most folks can stand for a duration of 2 hours. As for Coburn, call that acting job one-note all you want, but you'll probably won't forget it any time soon.

While I commend the fact that there's no overblown "confrontation scene" (like I said, Schrader never panders), the ancillary subplots, i.e. the hunting accident and the devious manuevers of a local real estate developer, are pedestrian at best and irrelevant at worst. Wade is what matters; if you can't come up with a good plot device, don't bother. Also: perhaps because of Nolte's performance, I never felt all that in touch with Wade emotionally -- with the one exception of that primal "tooth" scene. Besides that scene, we only see him the way others see him, which is unfortunate because he would make a terrific character study. Ultimately, that distance harms the film and makes this an incomplete experience.

Summary: evil?
Review: I'm kind of confused. Why do people see Wade Whithouse as an evil man? He isn't, he tries so hard to be a good father, and lover. But his past plagues him. Other reviewers who call this movie depressing are right, it is a devistatingly sad potrayal of alcoholism. one reviwer asked if this sort of thing has a reason for being made, he wanted to know why we had to watch it. You don't. You don't have to do anything, but if you do decide to see this film you won't come away from it "happy" but you will come away with the knowledge of how much abuse and alcoholism can damage a young mind.

I can't stand it when people say that abused children have no excuse for being abusive when they get older. My grandfather was an alcoholic and he was also very abusive towards my father, my father had a horrible childhood. He has never been abusive to me, but he hasen't exactley understood what it is to be a father. He wants so hard to show how much he loves me, but the bad relationship he had with his father affected his paternal instincts.

Now I understand that this is personal, but the reason for that is that this film affected me personally. It helped me understand why my father can't express his emotions. For anyone who has alcoholism or abuse in their family I highly recommend this film. And for those who don't have this sort of history, see this film and you might understand the consequences of alcohol abuse.

P.S. For the reviewer who wanted more closure: Sorry bud, that's how it works in real life. They don't all end in explosions and gunfire.
