Summary: Typical Guy Things
Review: This was a pretty good chick flick that took the usual formula and rolled through it nicely. There were lots of laughs, especially on the part of Jason Lee, and lots of awkward situations that will make you laugh and feel sorry for those caught in them. Guys, you get to see Julia Stiles in a Tikki dress and Selma Blair looking every bit of gorgeous, so don't drag your feet when asked to see this one. Ladies, it's funny and guy-bashing (lighthearted of course), so you'll love it too. Good movie, good plot. Somewhat intelligent (well, I've seen much worse), but a feel-good ending.

Summary: Save your money!!
Review: This was a terrible movie. It just didn't make an audience connection on any level. There was no chemistry between any of the characters, the humor fell flat, and it just plodded on until finished. I kept watching, hoping somehow it might get better - even after my teenage daughter gave up and read a book. It never did get better, only worse. Jason Lee's character had to be the biggest wimp I've ever seen in a movie and it was almost painful at times to watch his cowardly behavior. Save your money and watch something else...

Summary: Desperately unfunny and derivative of better movies...
Review: Warmed-over "nothing". Obviously the screenwriter and director have seen "Four Weddings and a Funeral", as well as a bunch of other gen-x comedies of the last decade. The type of movie where the hero is constantly placed in "embarrassing" situations, and all the humor is derived from his discomfort. Several good actors are utterly wasted here -- why would lovely talented Julia Stiles have ever considered this part? She won't suffer any long term harm, but it hardly counts as a career move. Jason Lee gets less interesting with every movie he makes, and Selma Blair has done this identical part --- the prim yuppie girl who gets dumped for the blond heroine -- more than a few times, especially in "Legally Blonde."

There isn't a legitimate laugh in this entire boring movie, and Stiles and Lee have literally NO chemistry together...when they kiss at the end, it's like watching two cousins buss each other at a family picnic. Unsexy, unromantic, unfunny. DO NOT BOTHER to watch or rent this...you have better things to do.

Summary: Critics hate it--but go see it anyway
Review: Went to an afternoon screening attended by mostly senior citizens-everyone was laughing and seemed to enjoy the film. Enjoyed it more than many highly touted films.
