Summary: Fanstastic Movie for the family
Review: Having four brothers this movie really hit my heart hard. I seen this movie for the first time when I was maybe ten yr. old, and I have loved war movies ever since and the true ones even more. At the young age of 52 and going through the 60s and losing many childhood friends to the war in Veitnam , this move still affects me the same as it did back in 1956. Sad, funny, loving, heartfelt family movie. Just a girls point of view.

Summary: The Fighting Sullivans details how deeply WWII hit society
Review: Having just viewed "The Fighting Sullivans", I have to say that it is one of the the most gripping WWII movies I have ever seen. A great deal of effort was expened to show the life and closeness of that family. Watching the family grow up and finally watchig the brothers go to war showed just how deeply World War II reached into families and thereby affected society on the whole. An EXCELLENT movie, but very sad knowing what happend to the brothers the whole time. It is easy to see why the US NAVY continues to honor this family with USS THE SULLIVANS (DDG 68).

Summary: I grew up on this movie
Review: HEy I used to cry as a little boy (I'm only 21 now) when I saw this movie. It was on TV about once a year and I never missed it when it was on. If you liked saving private Ryan...see this. It will make you cry. it'll make most people cry...even bikers.

Summary: Definitely a classic!
Review: I can't believe I never knew about this movie! I actually just saw it on AMC - I had no idea that this was a true story, or how the movie ended. It just grabbed me immediately, and I stuck with it until the bitter end. The scene of the father slowly getting ready to go to work right after hearing of his son's deaths, is something you would never see in today's movies. Wow, what can I say? Any movie that affects me so much that I start researching it over the web is 5 stars in my book...

Summary: unforgetable
Review: I first saw this movie about 20 years ago and it was so good that it stayed with me this long. I was nine years old then, so you know if a nine year old would remember this film, it will be hard for anyone to forget it. It is a wonderful movie for anyone that like/loves classics...

Summary: My All Time Favorite Movie
Review: I first saw this movie when I was 13 years old - back in 1949.

It made a tremendous impression on me - I often thought about it over the years.

I finally saw in the TV Guide that it was playing on TV very late one evening - so I taped it so I could watch it and have it to share with my family.

A couple of years ago it was finally released on a video - my Daughter purchased it, and gave it to me as a Christmas present - it was one of the best presents I ever received.

Summary: THE BEST!!!VERY CLOSE TO HOME
Review: I HAVE 4 BROTHERS AND SISTER,WE COME FROM A LONG LINE OF OHANEY,S. RAISED IN THE MILITARY, I CAN RELATE TO THESE BROTHERS AND THE ANTICS AS THEY GREW UP. IF I CLOSE MY EYES I COULD SWEAR IT WAS US 4 FIGHTING & SMOKING CORN SILK IN THE SHED. AS WE GREW UP WE ALL JOINED DIFFERENT BRANCHED OF THE ARMED FORCES AS OUR FATHER AND GRANDFATHER BEFORE HIM. I AM 41 YRS OF AGE & I WATCHED THIS MOVIE FOR THE FIRST TIME 10-14-99. I CRIED BECAUSE IT BROUGHT SO MANY MEMORIES OF MY CHILDHOOD WITH MY FIGHTING IRISH BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: absolutely excellent & a must see for the entire family
Review: I saw this movie probably 20 years ago and have been trying to obtain a copy for my own library for the past 5 or better. Never forgot the impact it had upon me. A great TRUE story of loyalty, love, conviction, selflessness and patriotism. It lends itself to giving the viewer a greater appreciation for the freedom's we enjoy everyday and all too often unfortunately take for granted.
