Summary: The best movie ever about the best athlete ever
Review: This movie is the greatest movie ever. I saw it as I was starting out as a distance runner, and it really got me excited about running. This movie is much better than Without Limits. They tried too hard to make Billy Crudup look like Pre and didn't focus enough on running. Jared Leto is great as Prefontaine. This movie may not be all that accurate, especially with Pre not wearing Nikes with the swoosh ensignia on them. I've seen pictures of him with the swoosh on his shoes, so that's just something they changed for dramatical purposes. But overall, this movie is great. I think it is a must see for any runner.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This movie has an impact on everyone not just runners.
Review: Although i'm too young to have ever seen Pre in action i'm glad to say he is still my role model. I first saw the movie Prefontaine last month and it motivated me enough to take up running again. I run 7 days a week and hope to make the 2004 olympics. I recomend this movie to anyone not just runners. Go Pre!!!

Summary: INSPIRATIONAL!!
Review: This movie is one of the best depictions of an american legendI have ever seen. It is also one of the single most inspirationalmovies I have ever seen. If you like movies that get you really "worked up" then you will love this movie! And if you are a runner then you absolutely MUST SEE this movie!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A beautiful biography of the ultimate runner
Review: This is one of my favorite movies. You do not need to be a runner in order to appreciate the attitude and impact that Prefontaine had on America for the short time he was with us. This film is beautifully woven with real life footage from the Munich Olympics and his races.

Summary: AWESOME!! A must see!
Review: This movie inspired me to be a distance runner. I was a horrible runner at the time I saw this movie. But it motivated me to work day in, and day out to be the best I could be, and the next track season, I placed 4th in the 2mile in the county meet. This movie also gave me a role model: Steve Prefontaine. He is(in my opinion) the best distance runner the world will ever know. If you are a runner, or want to be a runner, you MUST see this movie!

Summary: A Great Movie-Especially for runners
Review: I saw this with my high school coach a couple days before the Indiana Cross Country State Meet- and we won the meet by 64 points. Talk about getting hyped. It's a good movie for the whole team to watch at the team dinner. Pre is awesome and so is Franlin Central CC!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great movie, better of the 2 Prefontaine movies
Review: I've seen this movie several times. The first time it was just my wife and I. Even though she's not a runner, the movie helped her to better understand where I'm coming from. A few days later we watched it with a few members of the high school cross country and track teams. I'm a volunteer coach at the high school and they really enjoyed the movie. The team members have read the book about Pre, as well as seen both movies, and the head coach at the high school also shows them the documentary that aired on CBS in 1995 a few nights before the state cross country championships. This has become a tradition as our team has qualified for the state meet quite a few times. But, back to the movie the team members agree that Prefontaine was better than Without Limits. I think most runners would agree with us. The movie is about more than just running it's about life, determination. Setting a goal and going for it, running to win, even if it means you lose. Then getting back up, to run another day. Knowing that you'll always leave your race on the track (where it belongs). Not, stepping off and thinking "what if". And that's the way life should be LIVED. I noticed alot of reviews were into what was accurate and what wasn't, but we all know that in the world of Hollywood, accuracy doesn't always sell. I was only a freshman in high school when Pre died. And just finishing my first full year of running when we heard the news. This movie helped answer alot of questions I had back in 1975. I will definitly be adding it to my video library.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A fairly good movie, with an ending I didn't like.
Review: Prefontaine has spirit and the will to win, this movie was pretty good right up to the end where Pre buys it by doing something extremely stupid.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: OK, but not great.
Review: This movie, unlike Without Limits was not filmed in Eugene, Oregon. Part of this one was filmed in Seattle, other parts, in other cities. This movie also had some parts that are not accurate when it comes to the races as another reviewer pointed out. However, Jared Leto is very good in this movie, and plays Pre very well. If you want the best Pre movie out there, get Without Limits, but if you already have that, get this one.
