Summary: Pilates' and aerobics' biggest strengths in one workout
Review: Ask any dancer or gymnast, and they'll tell you the secret to physical fitness is getting your abdomen and back strong and flexible. Tae Bo combines Pilates' attention to those areas with excellent aerobic exercise.

I've done a lot of tapes, and I've never found one as thorough as Get Ripped Advanced. Workout 1 is more intense than 2, but both are several degrees harder than the original Advanced tape from the first Tae Bo 4-pack. As a man in good condition, I find these workouts quite challenging, and that's something that can't be said for the vast majority of exercise tapes.

The great thing about Tae Bo is that you can ratchet up your workout as your technique gets better. I am even more exhausted when I do these today than I was when I started several months ago, because I'm paying more attention to working through the movements properly.

Even more aerobically challenging than running, and every bit as focused on the abs, legs and rear as Pilates. I wish there were additional Tae Bo workouts of this intensity to vary my routine even more.

Summary: Marketing Appeal
Review: Come on! Do you really think you'll end up looking "ripped"? The Tae Bo workouts have a slick marketing campaign to make the consumer think they will get hard bodies after doing these videos. Truth is, these videos are all hype and do not explain the moves safely, especially for those of you who may be beginners. Really, if these videos are as good as they say they are, wouldn't more of us looked "ripped"? Where are all the "ripped" people anyway? Making appointments with plastic surgeons.........

Summary: No-nonsense and effective
Review: Excellent DVD, I've watched the inches disappear in the few weeks since I bought it. A very diffrent format from the Original Tae Bo - average people instead of all instructors, a lot of camera work and so forth- but every bit as good, maybe a little bit tougher.

I would recommend buying the Original first, to get the basics down and to sort of see the evolution of the series.

Summary: IF YOU WANT TO BURN THE CALORIES FAST...
Review: GET THIS DVD...You will burn at least 1000 calories once you master the moves and can HANG until the end!!! If you do this DVD at least 4 times a week YOU WILL SEE IMPROVEMENT within 30 days, hands down. I give it 4 stars because of the off beat counting at times, but with Blanks new DVD Tae-Bo Cardio, much of this has been addressed and cleared up. You will workout and feel it, but at the end it is worth it. Also, KNOW THE TECHNIQUE before purchasing this DVD. If you do not, I advise to get the original Tae-Bo or Tae-Bo Live DVD's. These DVD's have the instructional section which will walk you through the technique. Many have complained of knee injury etc., remember when you kick you raise your thigh and extend your leg, do not just throw it out there, this is where injuries occur. And again, it is important to know the technique before jumping into any of the workouts, including the basic format.

Summary: You Can Get a Good Workout at Home
Review: I decided to quit my gym in order to save a few bucks, and purchased a couple of workout DVDs so I wouldn't turn into a complete sloth. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to get a gym quality workout at home, but with this Tae-Bo video you definitely can!

The 2 advanced sessions which I think last 55 minutes (including warm up and cool down) will get you sweating and give your abs, arms, butt and legs a great workout. The day after I did the video for the first time I woke up feeling very sore (the good kind of sore). Then there is an 8 minute work out which I have done only once so far. The 8 minute workout is something a person could do either before or after (or before and after) some free weight or toning exercises.

There are a few things that are annoying about the video. First, I don't particularly like the lady (I think her name is Shelly?) that does the counting and demonstrations of moves with Billy Blanks. She gets under my skin with her "Huy Yah" screams, but that might just be me. Second, the music isn't all that great. Third, sometimes Billy does moves on one side of the body that he forgets to do on the other. But this probably doesn't matter that much.

This is a great video for an intermediate to advanced exerciser. For a beginner who wants to try Tae Bo, I would recommend a slower paced Tae Bo video to get a better understanding of proper form and technique. It would be easy for an inexperienced exerciser to injure him or herself with this Tae Bo Advanced video.

Summary: Better than expected
Review: I do intense running and weight training and always thought aerobic videos did not do anything for my heart rate. I thought I would try this for a nice alternative to running a few times a week. I have never done a Billy Blanks tape before but was happy that it did seem challenging. I definitely sweat but I wish that it was 100% cardio during the entire tape. There were a few down times which could have been spent doing more cardio. It was great for balancing and using inner core muscles; something cannot be strenghthened with running and weight training.

Summary: Best workout DVD I've found in years
Review: I got this DVD several years ago - and it is truly amazing. I saw results within a month, especially around my abs and hips and if I don't do the workout for a week or so, the flab starts to return - but if I do a couple days of TaeBo Get Ripped, I get whipped back into shape. I truly love this DVD and do it 3-5 times a week in the winter when I can't get out and exercise outside. I have been trying to find its equal, since I know you are supposed to vary your workouts, but so far, no other DVD comes close. (I would put myself at an advanced level as far as exercising goes, not really a DVD for beginners)

Summary: The best workout tape I own
Review: I have always preferred exercise videos instead of going to the gym, and usually every tape I have - even the ones I like - tend to get boring fast. But the two workouts on this DVD are amazing - I barely even notice that I am working out for an entire hour. They are interesting and intense, and when I am done I definitely feel exhausted, like I just got in a GREAT workout. I wish I could find more exercise videos that are this good.

Summary: This DVD is Even Better than His First Advanced DVD!!!
Review: I have been workin out for 6 months now on and off with Billy Blanks' First set of workouts ("Begginers, Intermediate and Advanced Workout"). I have now been only using the advanced segment for the last 2 months and I felt it was gettin a little boring. So, I looked on amazon and I found this Get Ripped Advanced Workout hoping I would be able to Follow it. I had no problem following Billy on both Advanced segments which are an hour each!! You definately feel the burn and sweat your butt off with these!! Also, I found that it was comforting that the first workout doesn't involve floor work, but the next day I DID FEEL THE BURN ON THE SIDES OF MY ABS...WITHOUT FLOOR WORK!! This DVD is totally worth the money and you can alternate between his old DVD and this one! There's also an 8 minutes section that's a killer!! Buy it now! I was really surprised!! =)

Summary: Amusing and highly effective
Review: I have to say I enjoyed this workout much more than I thought I would after reading the various negative reviews that ones have posted. Instead of finding the "out-of-synchness" and various other blunders on the part of both Billy and his team annoying, I found it amusing. These imperfections do not make the workout any less effective. My heart was pumping like crazy, I was sweating from head to toe, but was having so much fun that I didn't want it to end, even after the full hour! If you have a sense of humour AND want a wicked workout that will burn 800 calories, this one is for you!
