Summary: Great Movie
Review: I absolutely adore this movie because it is so funny. This movie is basically about sexual experimentation--a couple of the heterosexual men decide that they want to explore the gay lifestyle, and one of the homosexual guys decides to explore the heterosexual lifestyle. There is also this men's group where they get in touch with their "manliness" and these meetings are absolutely hilarious. There is this one guy in the group who is a homophobe and it is really funny to watch him squirm while the guys talk about their homosexual longings and experiences. The group leader is absolutely hilarious and his wife, who has a women's group, is just as funny as he is. The main character is Leo, and his roommate, Darren, has this boyfriend-Jeremy, who sells houses and takes advantage of him every chance he can in the houses--he is supposed to be selling--while the homeowners are away. There is one really funny scene where Jeremy handcuffs Darren to a woman's bed and then leaves him there when she comes home unexpectedly. This movie really is a non-stop laugh experience-everything is so funny.

Summary: British Sex Farce With a Few Twists
Review: I first saw this film at a gay and lesbian film festival. I and my date laughed so hard, that she wet herself, and I choked on my soda. The characters are remarkably 3-dimensional, a thing which is so very hard to achieve in a farce. Their explorations into their own self-concepts, and views of gender, sexuality, and nationality, are both hysterical and poignant. This is a movie that can be enjoyed by everyone. The characters are gay, straight, and in-between; married and single; insightful and downright insane! From " S&M o-grams ", to "primitive man weekends," and back round again to mutual adultery and real estate agent sex addicts who use other people's houses for their trysts, this film has it all. It's intelligent but not overly intellectual, sexy but tastefull, and has a plot twist that leaves both the gay and straight audiences feeling that they've seen something unique. 5 stars!

Summary: Film Festival Explosion!!
Review: I first saw this movie two years ago at a Gay and Lesbian film festival in Michigan. People literally fell in the floor during comic moments that mocked everything from S/M to women's and men's therapy groups. Gays and straights alike found "truth" in this film, and were able to relate to the 3-D characters on many levels. I attended with a multi-ethnic group comprised of black gay men, black lesbians, white bisexual-women, white lesbians, and a white man, and everyone agreed that it was a 5 star film!

Summary: A complete delight
Review: I had no idea what to expect, and was very pleasantly surprised when I found an intelligent, witty film about real sexuality, not the polarized you're-either-gay-or-straight stuff that everyone else seems to specialize in. The characters aren't perfect; they're stumbling around in the dark just like the rest of us, but they do it with the sort of grace I wish we were all capable of. Simply a film to warm your heart, no matter where you are on the scale. See it. I mean it.

Review: I just spent a hilarious three hours (well, the film is only 105 minutes, but I kept hitting the reverse button on the remote) watching Bedrooms & Hallways. This film is clever and funny.Leo and Darren, both gay, search for romance in their own individual ways. Leo is attracted to someone whom he thinks is straight. Darren just has one hell of a good time, often. And life falls apart from there. The film begins with a surprise party for Leo, at which we meet all the principal characters of the film. Then by means of one long flashback we enjoy what led up to the current state of affairs (of which there are many). The ending is hair-brained and implausible but many of these films usually end absurdly. So, not an issue. What makes this film so lovably wonderful are the characters. As for Leo, take him or leave him. He is one of those tiresome individuals who obsesses his way out of what could have been a meaningful relationship by insisting on 100% commitment. Oh, yawn. We've seen it a million times, so ignore him. Tom Hollander plays Darren to delicious excess. You may remember him from the "Absolutely Fabulous" episodes, "The Last Shout," in which he almost marries Saffron. Hugo Weaving (Priscilla: Queen of the Desert) plays Jeremy, Darren's love interest. Jeremy is a real estate agent, which gives him access to empty houses in which he and Darren meet to fulfill some eccentric fantasies. But Jeremy has to have the right decor. These two are the joy of this film. Simon Callow, as Keith, oversees a New Age men's therapy group that is hysterical. And James Purefoy is gorgeous as Brendan. Finally, a gay film in which there is lots of kissing! And it's the good old fashioned open mouth, "I think you're so hot!" variety. The DVD lacks features, but it has a short and enlightening interview with the director, Rose Troche. One point - ignore the cover. It shows Weaving looking lasciviously at Purefoy. Those two have nothing to do with each other in the film. They never even meet. Just another example of marketing ineptitude. But the disk inside is wonderful! Now go buy it, Honey.

Summary: Flippant but entertaining
Review: I thought this film was entertaining, yet it came up short in the end. The lack of emotional consequence to the characters' sexual exploration ended my suspension of disbelief. Likewise, the obviously gay authorship seems to override the true characters' voices: two of the five members of the men's group suddenly find themselves gay with the sudden admission of a gay member? "Bedrooms," while always likeable, turns out to be lightweight and, strangely, cliched in the same way that "Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss" is -- namely, that sexual experimentation is without emotional repercussions and that being gay is somehow infectious to straight men.

Summary: Fun with a British Flare
Review: In this movie, the main character has been having a horrible time of it with relationships and decides to to with one of his straight friends to his "Mens" group. The men sit around pounding on drums, trying to figure out what has gone wrong in their lives. Well in the course of the group it comes out that our guys is gay and when asked who he finds attractive in the group he names Brenden. Well Brenden is flattered but straight......At least he says he is straight. LAter on, with his attraction to Brenden still in place he bumps into one of his best friends from school whom he hasn't seen in years. this charcter was wonderfully done by the same actress who played Lizzy in Pride and Prejudice. She is upset and in the process of breaking up with a man named ...Brenden. They are supported wonderfully by his roomate who is a bit of a dizzy boy having an affair with a realestate agent who loves having sex only in the expensive homes he has listed. These chacters you will recognize from ABsolutly Fabulous and Pricilla, Queen of the Desert. All in all a very fun movie.

Summary: film advocates one str8 night cures what ails GLB
Review: Irritatingly fluffy, and classically indicative of Brit camp, this one will make you want to fast forward to the next decent scene (not rewind as some of these other reviewers said. The eye candy in the men's support group scenes (and the notably brilliant performances by the guru and his wife -- an exception in this flick)can't sustain the whole movie. What really turned me off from irritation to outrage is the nasty ending in which the main character has sex with his high school sweetheart, a woman. Granted there was no indication that this encounter meant much of anything, but it truly offended me that a movie all about coming to terms with the funny poignancies of mature monogomy in GLB relationships could end by sending the message that all the confused and silly would-be monogamous gay man needs is a good roll in the hay with a pretty blonde waitress. Don't even bother renting it.
