Summary: hustler white is a movie from the heart of the makers
Review: i know lots of the folks who made this film, writers directors and actors and i can tell you, this isnt pandering to the market. they really are into this scene, as voyeurs or participants, and i couldnt imagine a film much different from them. dispite the jokey and stairic overplaying, the filmakers are sincere! read bruce la bruce's books, check out ricky castro's photography. it all ties together! i saw this in a packed theatre in weho and everyone seemed to love it!

Summary: Tony Ward, what else to say.
Review: I swear this movie should have been writen by David Lynch, cause thats the feel you get when you watch it, It's a pretty cool movie, it shows the Infamous Tony Ward who once you can stop drooling over makes some intense appearances in this flick.
All in all it is a good movie.

Summary: Complete Waste of Time
Review: I would'nt give this film even one star if that was an option - which it is not. I view a lot of independent films, and so called experimental films, and in so doing come across some pretty tawdry ones. But this clunker takes the cake. After spending many years in the area this "director" chose for his locale, and having led a very extremely liberal existence while there, I am a pretty hardened viewer of films and reader of books. This film was, as I mentioned earlier, a complete waste of my time. Mr. Diretor needs to get a focus on what he is trying to convey to his captive audience - the majority of scenes were not just shocking, but completely disgusting and added not substance or value to this film at all. There are a number of very good "gay" films out there - don't waste your time encouraging this guy.

Summary: The funniest low budget film since Faster Pussycat
Review: I'm merely a "mutant hetero" but I found that what the film lacks in technical skill, it more than makes up for in quotability. It needs to be seen multiple times in order to catch and memorize them all.

Bruce La Bruce sure knows all about tragic Hollywood suicides. I'm tempted to order his books now. The sex scenes are certainly not as graphic as "regular" gay porno. What you imagine is much worse than what you actually see on screen. It's not as if there are any close-up penetration shots. Perhaps the razor blade scene with the "Versace Model" (don't want to give away the gag), made me cringe the most.

Not to be taken too seriously, I recommend this film to anyone wants a truly "burnt" midnight movie laugh-fest. It's been the biggest hit among my friends since "Faster Pussycat" and "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls"!

Rent it even if you're not gay!

Summary: A great satire
Review: Let me start by disclosing that I watched Hustler White three times in the theater when it was first released and then dropped $60 bucks to purchase it when it was first released on VHS. I'm also a gay black guy that didn't find the film to be racist or offensive in any way.

Unlike many of my fellow moviegoers in 1996 who, shocked and appalled, left the theater I have consistently found the bulk of this film to be quite refreshing and highly amusing.

Hustler White is not about race or sexuality. It is not about judgment or condemnation. It is a satirical depiction of sexual fetish and examines the lengths people go in order to indulge their fetishes. Bruce LaBruce is fully aware of the blurred distinctions between reality, fantasy, art and pornography. He has crafted a film that exploits our natural curiousness about garish, subversive acts and our equally natural desire to distance ourselves from such things. After you have peered into his "world", it's easy to dismiss Hustler White as inplausible, irresponsible or even downright raunchy. But Hustler White is not a pretty or glamourous film. LaBruce didn't intend it to be. It's is a surrealistic world and you are the voyeur that feels like you're watching something you shouldn't. Yet, in spite of this, you are also unsettlingly aware of the fact that people like Hustler White's characters might exist in the real world. What's truly left for you to decide is whether this frightens or excites you.

Summary: Waste - in every sense of the word.
Review: One of the most vile visuals I have ever experienced - on and off the screen. No artistic value whatsoever. Uninteresting topic, dull script, unappealing characters, pathetic acting, and completely uninspired directing. Everybody involved with this movie should be totally ashamed of themselves. The friends who suggested this movie to me have yet to live this down - and I doubt they ever will.
