Summary: Movie was filmed in and around Watsonville, CA
Review: This late 80's movie is cool. Made in the time when movies actually were scary and interesting, not like todays teen slashing "I know who you are going to kill next" type of crap.
The graphics are classic and so is the story. I picked it up because I was 6 or 7 years old at the time when the movie was being filmed here in my hometown of Watsonville, CA. The old police station is now a city records building and the restaurant scene has being renovated a couple of times and is now a Taqueria.

I think hollywood producers really need to look around here again because there is a lot of potential for another type of movie to be made.

To the brothers who made this movie: How about a sequal??
"Killer Klowns: The return"

With todays computer animation graphics, this can be huge!!
Can I be an extra on the set, if so you can e-mail

Thanks for the time! Enjoy.

Summary: Killer Klowns is a kamp klassic!
Review: This movie brings back a few fond memories which only adds to the enjoyment of watching it fifteen years after it was released. I absolutely loved this movie as a kid. Not only did it freak me out and give me nightmares (come on, clowns that kill people?), but I also remember getting quite a few laughs from it. Plus, I remember having that darn theme song stuck in my head for days on end. Years later, nothing's changed (well, except for the nightmare factor). It's still funny and the Dickies' theme song still rocks.

The title of the film is pretty self-explanatory, so I won't bother summarizing. Besides, the odds are you've already seen or heard about this movie by now. What I will say is that this is one heck of a DVD. I applaud MGM for putting such effort into such a "small" movie. This disc basically has just as many features as the average new Hollywood movie DVD has including featurettes on almost every aspect of the making of Killer Klowns, commentary, a trailer and, my personal favorite, the Chiodo brothers' early films. Even at a young age, their inventiveness was already apparent. These short films are a kick to watch.

If you like movies such as Return of the Living Dead, the Evil Dead trilogy and those 50's sci-fi monster movies, Killer Klowns is a must-see.

Summary: just hilarious
Review: good old fashioned cult classic with those lovable killer klowns coming to town and wrapping the people into cotton candy. the clowns are hilarious and some of the killers are memorable. remember the clown that knocks off the guys head and then all those people start running and screaming away and where that clown uses that cop as a puppet, I mean classic. a lot of clown haters will hate this movie and so will they hate IT.

Review: This is the absolute best movie of all time. Like Comedy? This has it. Like terror? this has it. Like romance? this has it. Like tragedy? well, out of luck there. This is my favorite movie of all time. I dont want to give away the story line, but it is about one night of silly scares from klowns that kan kick booty.

Summary: Silly title but good story
Review: Being afraid of clowns is a very common occurrence. This movie gives new reasons to be afraid. The entire idea of clowns is explored and twisted into a wonderful story of alien clowns invading a small town.

Balloons, popcorn, cotton candy, shadow puppets, pies in the face, and even the big top are all twisted into sinister ideals. One character makes a statement wondering if the Ancient Astronaut idea could be applied and these aliens are the basis for our whole idea of clowns.

In a typical B-movie move, a pair of teens at a make-out location are the first to encounter the aliens. They are not believed by the local police (one older officer who hates college kids and the other who dated one of the first witnesses). But the truth soon comes out as the aliens step up their invasion.

The DVD has a clear picture and a couple of interesting deleted scenes (just leave the main menu on your screen for a few minutes and the Easter Egg menu will pop up), making of features, other short animated films and other stuff. The one this I was disappointed about was it did not include the music video for the title song (available on one of the VHS editions). The video has some further scenes of "Big Top Burgers" and the clown with the big hammer (and we get to see just what it does).

A wonderful film that is pretty seamless and follows its internal logic well. Funny and creepy. A real must-see.

Summary: Ah... memories of klowns
Review: Back in the stone age... 1989, to be exact... I was in college. Two friends and I decided to take some strong acid and climb a mountain. Well, we did that, and it was an amazing experience, but nothing could prepare me for what happened upon our return back to the dorm (all wild-eyed, sweaty and grungy like a trio of psychotic wildmen).

A friend of mine had a VHS copy of "Killer Klowns from Outer Space". He had just watched it, and decided that, in our state, we were definitely the target audience.
So we settled in, mixed ourselves a cocktail, and pressed play...

WHOA!!!!

This movie rocked our worlds in ways that cannot even be expressed... Sure, the drugs helped, but the movie was already so uniquely out of its mind, that it hardly needed a psychotropic concierge. It already existed in a truly bizarre universe, with a hint of made-for-TV David Lynch, constantly straddling the line between absolute s**t and sublime parody. It was campy B-movie strangeness that alternated between generic 80's fodder (anyone who went through the 80's knows how formulaic and mind-numbing the films and TV were...) and freaky deaky, nightmarish imagery that played like a come-to-life Bruegel painting -- a rogues gallery of haggard, alien clowns

If you want a heapin' helping of a bizarre nightmare told through the lens of "Who's the Boss?"-style moviemaking, I recommend that you buy the DVD, drop a tab of acid, and just let go...

Summary: Killer Klowns from Outer Space? ...
Review: ...and that's what Mahoney said when he heard about the 'unreal' and unbelievable story of the klowns putting their victims in these 'cocoons'! I'm gonna tell you a story: when I was 4 years old I watched this movie and I scared myself a lot. I spent nights without sleeping and my fear for klowns was big as well. Even though I'd get scared when watching the movie, I'd put it on my VCR and watch it over and over again...because it was just an excellent movie. From then on it wasn't until 14 years later that when I found out that MGM had released the movie again I bought it. The movie has changed...not only it reminds me how perfect the movie is, but it reminds me the excellence of the movie's topic. Thank you MGM and Chiodo Bros...you've made one of the most amazing movies I've ever watched!
By the way, remember: "Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry...but these killer klowns are gonna make you die!" (The Dickies).

Review: Never tought this classic would be on DVD. I couldn't even find it in used video stores. I would have been very happy with a used, VHS rental. This b-movie is one of the best I've seen. A great twisted concept. More humorous than scary, even if you have a clown phobia.
