Summary: Killer Klowns Kick As-k Anyone
Review: Killer Klowns is Hysterical. Kampy, Klunky, and Kustard-filled. This is the kind of movie only young maniacs like the Chiodos could dream up. You'll never look at a balloon animal the same way again. Popcorn sticking to your sweater will seem ominous... Now I can get the creeps just by walking in my front door. Get the DVD. This movie is a kult klassic.

Summary: Klowning Around
Review: Killer Klowns rates up there as one of the cult classics of all time. It makes fun of itself, the audience and the concept regularly. Suggested companion videos should include Polergeist or any of the Cirque de Solei series. If you love classic horror, you will abhor this film. It's camp, but it's well done (They actually had a budget!). Watch at your own risk, and see you under the Big Top.

Summary: KILLER KAMP KLASSIC
Review: This 1988 kult klassic is (finally!) on DVD, one of the titles in MGM's Midnite Movie Collection, and we are happier than Charles Nelson Reilly and a tube of grease(paint). A spaceship---looking just like a circus tent---lands in a field in a small town...unleashing a korps of killer klowns, red-nosed klutzes who kill, maim and cotton-candy people to death. It's madcap, maniacal magic that makes Alien look tame. The DVD also contains deleted scenes, the theatrical trailer and a slew of bloopers...we're not klowning around when we say this is a horrifying hootx

Summary: Kult Of The Klowns
Review: This low-budget cult classic horror spoof has one of the great movie titles of all time. Mike (Grant Cramer) and his sweetheart Debbie (Suzanne Snyder) are smooching on lover's lane when they see what appears to be a meteorite crashing over the horizon. They loosen their liplock long enough to investigate and find a curious circus tent. There they discover malevolent clowns who stop their victims with popcorn-shooting guns and acid-drenched pies in order to feast on human blood. The unfortunates are then entombed into inescapable cotton candy cocoons. Officer Dave Hanson (John Allen Nelson) is called to investigate with help from Officer Mooney (John Vernon). For those viewers who already think clowns are a little creepy to begin with, this one will push them over the edge.

Summary: NOT FUNNY OR SCARY
Review: This movie rates up there with Pumpkinhead and King Solomon's Mines starring Richard Chamberlain as one of the worst movies of all time. Two reasons why I purchased it. One, I got it for $.... Two, the review from Amazon.com. In the future, I guarantee I'll get a more reliable review before purchase. Don't waste your time! If you want scary, get the original Dracula or any Hammer Studios film. If you want camp, try Fiend Without a Face or Black Sunday with Barbara Steele.

Summary: Fun Movie, Great DVD
Review: "Killer Klowns from Outer Space." Need I say more? This is a fun, tongue-in-cheek horror/comedy. There aren't any overt jokes, but the humor is situational. A cult classic that is a lot of fun.

On to the DVD.

MGM went all out for this one!

There are 5 featurettes:

-The Making of the Film
-Behind the Scenes/On the Set
-Komposing The Score
-Visual Effects
-Chiodo Brothers' Earliest Films

2 deleted scenes with optional commentary
Bloopers (Not that funny really)

Storyboard Gallery (somewhat extensive, but you can't click on an individual storyboard for a closer look)
Extensive galleries with conceptual art, some poster art.

Finally, the commentary with Stephen, Edward, and Charles Chiodo is very informative.

At this price, it is a steal!

Summary: So bad it's good!
Review: This is very campy. I don't know if it's supposed to be funny or serious, but it's funny. The scariest clowns I've ever seen. This will give small kids nightmares. But adults will laugh. It's worth the price. You'll have fun with this one. Just don't take it seriously. You'll never look at clowns the same way again.

Summary: Big Top Terror
Review: The Chiodo (kee-O-doh) brothers' Killer Klowns from Outer Space is one of my guilty pleasures. It's not a great movie...it may not even be a very good movie...but it's still the ultimate clowns-as-monsters movie. The Killer Klowns' spaceship is a circus tent. They wrap people in cotton candy cocoons. They track down victims with a balloon bloodhound. You get the idea.

MGM recognized the mixed appeal of this flick with a brand new Special Edition DVD containing a commentary track, early films of the Chiodo brothers and a pristine widescreen print (...).

Summary: Klowny klown klown....
Review: I am a huge fan of movies, I've seen most of them, and I have to say this is my favorite horror flick of all time. I never really noticed clowns until this movie! I love the curly straws and acid pies...this is definatley a classic. Watch and beware! Klowns know where you live, they know where you go to make out...

Summary: KILLER DVD!!
Review: This is one of my all-time favorite films. A glorious throwback/send-up of those 'invaders from space' flicks of the 50s. This time we have a shipful of alien Bozos who have come to take over the world and some scenes will remind you of the great sci-fi films of the past - like "Forbidden Planet," "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers" and even "The Blob". Other people here have outlined the plot thoroughly, so I wont go into that but I'd like to comment on the DVD. The presentation here is superb!! I was surprised because usually the "Midnite Movies" series dosen't offer more than the feature and a trailer, but here we have 5 featurettes, a blooper reel, deleted scenes, audio commentaries, photo gallery, storyboard gallery and the original theatrical trailer. The beautiful color widescreen presentation of the feature is impressive. So overall, you are getting a great package for the money. Highly recommended.
