Summary: The greatest horror movie of the past 20 years - bar none!
Review: When Scream was released in cinemas back in 1996 it provided a much-needed injection of life into the horror genre. It was a movie with all aspects of horror rolled into one and also managed to stand out from the crowd as the most original and enjoyable slasher flicks in years. Although the creepiness and scary moments of this film are debatable, the clever incorporation of pop culture wit and humour is undeniable. You only have to look at horror films from the past 30 years to see the influence they have had on Scream, yet you only have to look at films in the post-Scream era such as "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "The Blair Witch Project" to see the influence that this film has had on the world of cinema and the horror genre on the whole.The phone calls come thick and fast in the film, and they work very well by creating the sense of ambiguity that every viewer will try to solve. The killer revealed at the end is certainly unexpected. When I first saw the film, I could not have predicted who the killer could have been. Of course as you are watching the film, you run through all the potential serial killers in your head, but you never imagine the outcome. This isn't your average slice and dice horror film, where the killer has no reason to kill his victims. He has his reasons, yet the delve into his mind is never fully understood. We can only take his word that what he's doing is some act of revenge or jealously. It all seems like a down and out killing spree where he kills not because he has to, but because he wants to - he likes to. The Scream mask that has no eyes or nose but one long white mouth is totally iconic and has definitely earned its place in cinema history. It's this screen play that makes the film. The man behind the mask is clumsy, and this is where the humour is based. The killer isn't someone who always knows where his victims are. He tries to think he does, but he doesn't and the results are very humorous. This also rubs off on the killer's clueless victims. Despite a fantastic script, even the best of films will fail without a decent cast and Scream is luckily blessed with some of Hollywood's cream of the crop. Neve Campbell plays the lead of Sidney, while Courtney Cox, fresh off her ratings success on hit comedy Friends, is spot-on as the self-centered and arrogant news reporter. David Arquette is annoying at first, but he does grow on you towards the end as the dim-witted deputy sherriff. A young Drew Barrymore is awesome in her short ten minutes at the beginning of the film of which she is responsible for the iconic status the film has achieved. Rose McGowan is perfectly cast as Sidney's best friend, while Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard play their roles brilliantly and are the perfect horror couple! I don't think that in a horror film you could come up with a better cast of characters, all unique in their own way, and that is perhaps the secret behind the success of Scream. OVERALL GRADE: 10/10 In 1996 I was nine years old, so I obviously didn't see this film when it was first released. In about 2000 I saw it for the first time, and loved every minute. I am very into the horror genre, and Scream scared the pants off me! Now that I'm older and just turned 16, I don't see the film as very scary, but more for its comedy value. Three years ago, my friends would laugh their heads off watching Scream and I'd be like, "How can you laugh?! It's terrible what he's doing!" I'm totally different now! I don't know why I'm saying this because I can't imagine anyone in their teens or 20's who hasn't seen Scream before, but if you haven't, just give it a go. It's a classic.

Summary: What's YOUR favorite Scary Movie?
Review: Less than two weeks ago I rented this, and found it to be not so scary, but very VERY enjoyable.
The opening sequence is brilliant, but blonde doesn't suit poor Casey, AKA Drew Barrymore.
Then we get introduced to the heroine of this film, as well as its two excellent sequels, Sidney Prescott, who has a boyfriend who REALLY wants sex, a dad who's always on business trips and a mother who was raped and murdered just under a year ago.
Soon after the two opening murders, Sidney receives a call and is attacked by a persond dressed in a ghost costume.
And so begins the rest of the film, SIdney wrongly accuses someone, her friends get murdered, and one is so stupid she tried to get out of the garage through a CAT FLAP, but gets squelched when the door goes up.
Definetely MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST SEE SLASHER! The only better I think is Scream 2, just because you see more of the killer.

Summary: Scream is a stinker and no one cares!
Review: After seeing several of Wes Craven's earlier films, I was quite excited to hear that he was creating a new one in 1995. However, I must say that Scream is one of the sorriest and insultingly stupid pop horror films ever made. This does not even deserve to be labled as a mere "B" film. This is crap. Perhaps just as bad (if not worse) than the old Frankie and Annette beach movies of the early '60's. Wes, what the hell happened, man?

Review: Let me begin by saying "Scream" is one of the most brilliantly terrifying movies I've seen, and I'm a huge horror fan. The opening scene with Drew Barrymore features some of the best acting in horror cinema, and is also incredibly horrifying. The acting in this movie is awesome, including great performances from Skeet Ulrich, Neve Campbell, Rose McGowen, David Arquette, Courtney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Drew Barrymore, and Jamie Kennedy. Director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson mix the suspense and horror with humor, reffering to past horror movies frequently throughout the film. That's one of the things that makes the movie so clever. Clever twist at the end. The climax is suspensful and chilling, but goes a bit overboard with the cursing. Not to worry, though. The film is almost perfect in every other aspect, so it doesn't destroy the story. Rated R for strong violence, gore, and language. An influential classic for teens and adults. The extra features are good too. The commentary by director Wes Craven and screen writer Kevin Williamson is quite interesting. The trailers are entertaining too. I recommend this movie for fans of horror, suspense, psychological thrillers, and satrical comedy. But, if you're not any of these things, the movie is still incredibly entertaining. A must see!

Summary: Applause to Drew Barrymore for great acting.
Review: Please do not get this film mixed-up with Scary Movie (2000). Scary Movie was a comedy, a parody that spoofed the 1996 film "Scream". Scream (1996) can out at the right time. They quit making Friday the 13th films, Halloween/"Michael Myers" films and Nightmare On Elm Street/"Freddy" films (although temporarily). Then this film Scream (1996) suddenly became a hit and was the most talked about film on television at the time. The film begins with the now classic scenes of Drew Barrymore who picks up the phone and is then terrorized. This is a teenage slasher who-is-doing-it? If you've had any hardships like this in your life, I would not watch this film. Linda Blair has a cameo appearance. The film HALLOWEEN (1978) is paid homage to by the creators of Scream. I truly believe the film Scream gave someone the idea of bringing back Jamie Lee Curtis and the "Michael Myers" character again for Halloween: H2O 20 Years later (1998). This DVD contains a Director's Audio Commentary. Followed by Scream 2 (1997) and Scream 3 (2000).

Summary: A Stunning, Unforgettable and Truley Terrifying Masterpiece
Review: First of, SCREAM, is the movie that brought horror back to the screen. It is the hightl;ey original story of a small California town brought to the edge by a series of grusome and mysterious deaths. A group of horror film fans find themselves in the center of the mess as their friends and classmates fall victm to a masked killer. Yes it may sound familair (Halloween, Friday the 13th etc.) but it its one, its more realistic then the otehrs and so clever and hip. As a young girl named Cidy Presscott finds hereself connected to the gruseome killer she stops at nothing to survive yet eventually find whosebehind the mask. Teh opening sceing with Drew Berrymoore is possibley one of cinema's most feverishly scary and horrific moments. Due to Scary Movie and otehr parodies they scence has lost its full 100% scare but it'll never lose all of it. Even a die hard hoor buff can't denie how scary movies. Scream is truley a masterpice in film history.
