Summary: Season one and pilot in the one box set
Review: I am from Australia and have recently purchased season one of Twin Peaks on DVD. The box set included the pilot episode, which I know is not included in the set that everyone seems to be talking about here on Amazon. The quality of the pilot is also great, I have noticed that many people who bought it separately have not been too happy with the sound etc. Anyway, for those Aussies out there, buy it from here and not off the net, you will get the full package!

Summary: Please release the second season and PILOT!!!
Review: Not much more can I add to entice any of you to purchase this masterpiece. The intricate character developments from Pete calling Harry with that cryptic "she's dead...wrapped in plastic" to Deputy Andy and Lucy's intricate social relationship, and of course, not to be outdone by Leland Palmer (especially when he hops on Laura's casket at the funeral and rides it up and down)...PRICELESS!, the Norweigans...Big Ed Hurley, it's all the quirky characters that make this the treasure that it truly is! If you don't buy it - - well - - that would be crazy. ahhhh Douglas Firs, and coffee, black as midnight on a moonless night!

Summary: Finally!!!
Review: I rushed to buy this four disc set as soon as I saw it online. I was a huge fan of the show and after watching it recently, it has lost none of its magic. This set plays beautifully in Dobly Digital, DTS, and Dolby Surround. It has been completely remastered and looks gorgeous! One conflict to dispel, though. The original pilot episode was never included in any offering of the series. It is a separate show althogether. I don't know if this has to do with licensing or just an attempt to make more money. I, in no way, feel cheated by this. I did gladly purchase the pilot edisode on DVD, but I must submit that it is a foriegn release of lesser quality as if copied from a laser disc, but still plays in Dolby Digital. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who was a fan of the show in the 90's, but don't forget to order the pilot!

Summary: Next Please!
Review: What happened to you guys out there in the DVD world. Did you forget that there are still more episodes to release? What good is the first session with out the rest of the sessions? Think about it - if there a x ammount of people who bought the first session - then there is x amount of people who want the rest. Get it together folks - start working and do something right for once.

Summary: Best Show EVER!
Review: I am not one to write summaries of products I review. I can say, however, that this is a TRULY great series. As far as dramatic/serial shows go, I am really really picky, but this one managed to really hold my attention! But, why is there no pilot episode? Not that that is a reason to NOT buy this (the picture quality, compared to when on the TV and VHS, has gotten ULTRA clear) But I think the studio should release the 2nd season and Pilot episode both on DVD, because thats what the fans want!

Summary: Good, but incomplete
Review: Twin Peaks may be great, and I'm glad to have it available on DVD, but I think it's really deceitful to market this as "the complete first season." That's really a lot of bull, and they have you over a barrel once you've purchased it. Why... wouldn't they include the pilot in this set (rights or no rights)? I had looked forward to introducing my friend to this great series last night only to have the evening ruined because the so-called first episode already had a two-hour jump on the narrative. That is ridiculous and I resent having to buy another dvd to get the pilot. Harrumph!

Summary: OK Retro stuff doesnt stand the test of time!
Review: Its interesting to re-visit this show---but I have to say big doses of it are harder to stand than they were when it first came out. In those times it was cutting edge tv! These days, compared with say Six Feet Under its rather passe.Nice to have...but really a once watcher!

Summary: Ripped off.
Review: First off, I love Twin Peaks. I saw the set ... and bought it on the spot. I remember seeing only the second season on TV and never wanted to buy the VHS tapes because I knew that it would eventually make it out on DVD. So...I get the set home, and pop in the first DVD. I hit the button for episode 1 and am rewarded with..."Previously, on Twin Peaks!"...What the [heck]? Apparently the pilot episode is not considered part of the first season. What [person] thought this was a good idea? I am really [upset] that this set does not contain what I consider to be the first episode... I am a little upset that the studio would release the DVD set and not make the pilot available.
In short, if you don't mind buying an import go ahead and buy the set, if you think it's [dubm] for the studio to release the first season without the pilot then run away from this deal fast.

Summary: Why people complain about no pilot?
Review: I don't understand why people complain about the series not including the pilot. They don't hold the rights to it, therefore they can't include it in the set. You can purchase it seperately from here on Amazon[.com] or off Ebay.

This is a GREAT series! I can't wait for season 2 to come out! As a fan of Lynch, and a new fan of the TP series, I love this. I really wish I had watched it when it originally aired. Now I'm torn between reading what happens in the second season, or waiting for it to come out on dvd. I waited a while to pick this boxset up because I was afraid it might not be worth the money for me, being a "blind" purchase and all. But boy was I wrong! This is a great collection that I would suggest any fan of Lynch pick up, or any person who liked the Fire Walk with Me movie.

Summary: Twin Peaks - The First Season (Special Edition) Region 2 DVD
Review: If you own a regionfree DVD player I recommend you to buy this version, it includes the pilot and the full first season plus 1 disc with extra material.

What more can I say that haven't been said in the previous reviews?? It's the greatest TV - series ever made and it was a damned shame when they closed it down!!

Cheers!

Jan T
Eagerly awaiting the release of season two.
