Summary: 5 STAR MOVIE!
Review: I've seen a lot of old horror movies, but "Sleepaway Camp" is the best.I was in to the movie from start to finish. You kind of have a good idea of who the killer is,but you would have never ever guessed that the movie would have ended the way it did. This movie was perfect.I definitely recommend this classic.

Summary: Shocking, Campy, Original 1980s Slasher Fun
Review: I love this movie. Its definetly underrated and I even think it meets the standards of the mainstream horror audience. It has everything... a quiet girl who is really a guy, a skinny blonde boy who wants to get on her, a perverted cook, a sadistic camp leader, lots of teen guys in their underwear wearing midriff bearing shirts (actually thinking they're cool), the calssic weirdo mother who turns boys into girls and teenage romance. What more can you ask for? The cover art is excellent too. I actually thought angela was cute... until I saw the ending. The ending was fantastic too. If you dont like this movie, theres something wrong with you. But, most would say... theres something wrong with me for liking this movie... Its truly original in my mind...

Summary: Horror Classic!
Review: Okay, first of all, the people who gave this one a bad review are novices when it comes to horrors, and have no business reviewing them. This is truly a classic!

The movie takes place at a remote camp. A serial killer is on the loose, killing mean and annoying teenagers in brutal and creative ways. The focus of the movie is on Angela, a sweet little "girl" with serious problems.

There's a scene in this movie with boiling water that would make even the lobsters cringe, and the other killings are just as great. One of the best horror endings of all time.

The director's commentary on the DVD is great. You have to see this one!

Summary: And to think there are sequels to this one.
Review: Every now and then I like to watch movies from my childhood that either scared me or I really liked. Unfortunetly I may stop doing this becouse all of the movies that were made in the 80's that I thought were creepy are some of the worst ever made.
Well let's get to the story. Campers, killers, stupid teenagers, dumb police, foolish situations, and really bad acting, writing, directing etc......
Everyone talks about the surprise ending, and it is a surprise, that will just blow you away. Forget it. The ending is just as stupid as the movie. I only wrote this review to keep people away from this kind of a movie, however I fear my words will fall on deaf ears.

Summary: Murders and the Process of Tucking It all Away
Review: When watching this movie, I can't help but flash back to the 80's and the culture of the time with a smile. There were those wondrously named campgrounds and their prospective killers that seemed to lurk about almost everywhere, the midriff shirts and knee high socks that plagued men with circulation problems and women with fashionitus, and the wonders of hair that just couldn't quit no matter how much it was begged to do so. Further delving into it, there was also the odd bliss felt when someone met a horrid end in a lake or an archery range, the laughs that could be gained by listening to the slang of the time and the bad acting that pressed it forward, and the stereotypical characters that all movies had. In many ways, that's part of the joy while delving into the campground puzzle.

From the very beginning of Sleepaway Camp, its apparent that the viewer is in for a revenge-filled ride. Here, a father and his two children are simply taking a boatride on a lake very close to a campground when, quite by accident, a boat manages to strike this ill-fated group. Out of this only Angela survives, shipped off to live with a very eccentric Aunt Martha that, eight years later, decides to ship Angela and Ricky (Martha's son) off to camp Arawak for the summer. There they are joined by a healthy array of potential victims in all age categories (yes, this is an equal opportunity demise piece, so no ageism is allowed) for a killer that seems to stalk these grounds, leading us to a gruesome discovery of a very shocking nature at the end of an enjoyable experience.

While there are some places in the plot that could use some ironing and you can somewhat see a portion of the punchline coming, you still learn to loathe the people that are taken out one by one with what I would call a very selective pallet. In a way i like that, seeing the victims as less-than-sadness and the killer's motives as something somewhat understandable. This, of course, all leads down a pathway that strays from the normal "who done it," giving you more than the simply decapitations and hatchet murders that you know you secretly crave. For the uninitiated and the return viewer alike, its a pleasant treat.

Summary: Good Saturday or Sunday afternoon movie....
Review: This movie is the horror films anwer to Plan 9 from Outer Space. So bad its good. Its art. Felicia is quite photogenic, and I agree, with another reviewer, must have graduated from the William Shater School of Acting. (with honours!)

Too bad they dont make slasher films like this anymore. Even the way they filmed it, with that soft "focus", and lighting
is good.

Time well wasted..

Summary: I wish I had access to....
Review: ...the wardrobe department from this movie! Man! Ultra high tube socks! Midriff baring T-shirts(for the guys!)! Super high and tight shorts!(also for the guys! let's sing Soprano!)

But really, from the opening scene, you know you are in for one sweet and (unintentionally)funny ride. If you haven't seen it, let me go over the very beginning.

Hair helmet sporting lifeguard lends boat to cute but inattentive girl. Both fail to hear pleas from the waterskiing
girl(who no doubt gradutated from the William Shatner school of acting) who has spotted a man and his two children in the water after capsizing their boat. From the ultra fake body which gets run over to the lament filled utterance "John" by the man's "significant other" to the girl screaming so loudly you would think she was the one who was run over...I haven't laughed this hard in a while.

And it gets better after that.

Witness the obscenity filled male softball game with players in the ranging in the ages of 9 to 25!

Witness men walking around in their underwear alot more than they should at a camp for little kids!

Witness the girl who gets hit by a water ballon drop like she has just been shot!

Witness Mel(who looks like a crack addicted Norman Fell) put on the most dramatic performance of 1983!

You think Johnny and gang from the Karate Kid were mean? Check out this gang!(Guys and Girls!)

Shockingly funny ending! I won't give it away here, but it just seems like it fits with the rest of the weirdness of the film.

Get some beer, get some friends, enjoy the campiness.
