Summary: Spawn: The Ultimate Video Collection
Review: Excellent collection from the HBO animated series. First selection introduces the audience to the central plot and key characters, as well as setting the tone for the rest of the videos in the package. Second selection picks up where the first leaves off, though seemed to lack the excitement of the first. Third selection brings back the intensity of the first, as well as twisting the plot and bringing it to a climax while leaving us wanting more. Don't necessarily have to be familiar with the "Spawn" story to enjoy this package. Can't wait for the forth season! NOT SUGGESTED FOR CHILDREN UNDER 13!

Summary: CONTINUATION OF GREATNESS!!
Review: I have all 3 of these videos and think that this one is a continuation of the great mind of Mcfarlane. The inner battle that Spawn continues to wage between good and evil within himself is incredible!! I would highly recommend this video for the " True Spawn " fan. Defiantly would enjoy more videos to continue these epic war.

Summary: Now this is Spawn
Review: I love the animated version, not that i'm a fan of the comic but when i saw the animated show at HBO which was actually a pilot episode, featured crazy charecters, a dark detective, and now one of my all time favorites, Spawn, it just got me buzzin and hungry for more of this new out of this world dark animation. This is a dark, very dark and mature tv show and provides sarcastic humor, chillers, suspense, thriller, drama and action. If you liked Outlaw Star or The Big O, then make no exeption to get this DVD Special Collectiors edition of Spawn, because by the end of the night, Spawn will be what you regurarly watch.

Summary: An Excellent Cartoon
Review: I use the term cartoon lightly, because Spawn is anything but a cartoon. It's got some good animation, but it's not kids animation. It is a very dark and twisted tail of both love, death, mentality and politics. And all of this coming from an animated show is brilliant.

The first two seasons basically set up the premise. The first season set the plain and the second season fleshed out all the characters. Now, the third season is where everything starts getting cooler. To start, we have some more words thrown back and fourth between Spawn and the old man who use to be one himself. He has many names, but you can just call him Merlin. Despite the help Merlin offers to the Spawn, Al still refuses to trust Merlin. He lets his anger for not being able to see Wanda consume him, but you already knew that.

There are also some new characters introduced. The newest one is a hunter from heaven named Jade, aka Woo the reporter. She is after the Spawn, but soon show an interest in him. Also, many characters get some more character development here. Like the detective, Twitch, comes too close to the truth about Spawn, his own superiors conspire to kill him which makes Twitches partner want to lash out. There are also "one-shot-characters" that are quite intersting like Al's mother (granny), Al's old friend and a hooker\vampire.

DVD extras here are great. Aside from the featurette and music videos, there is audio commentary by Todd McFarlane. What more could you ask for?

Overall, Spawn 3 is the best season of Spawn yet. If you haven't seen this show, do so now. It is more than what it seems.

Summary: Great deal for spawn fans!
Review: I wouldn't reccomend you buy this pack if you haven't seen the spawn series before. But otherwise its a great deal!

Spawn 1: This is a bit slow in its plot. But very aggressive in its grasp of reality. A fan of hardcore anime or spawn would like this very much. The first tape mostly tells the story of how Spawn came to be and what his mission is, as he sees it. In comparison to the 2nd and 3rd tapes it is a bit slow, but still entertaining a good start to an excellent series.

Spawn 2: Darker than the first. More action, but a little creepier. One thing about this series is that it messes with your head in confusing you about whats right and wrong. This tape has a lot of that in it.

Spawn 3: If you liked the first two you should love this. And even if you didn't like those 2 you still might like this one very much. The other two seem to drag on, and on, and on. But they're still very entertaining if you watch it in segments. However this one has a LOT more action. My favorite part is when Spawn fights the vampire girl. Thats the closest thing in america to anime. I think the next season, hopefully another will be made, should have a lot more of that fighting in it. But still keep the dark and twisting plot.

Summary: The best of the first three Spawn seasons

Summary: This one was on top
Review: Man its great how this whole story shows how one, (meaning Spawn)can rise from where he once was and grow more concious about what is going on and what he has to do and sacrifice with himself and the world. This was a great season and I loved how Todd continues to mix things up and give a twist to things. In a way its all the beginning of spawn fighting to be a warrior of peace. The action was great the characters were on thier mark the actors did a great job.Thanx Todd for a deeper twist I look forward to more of spawn the animated.Any fans of spawn or animated suspense get all the spawns especially #3.

Summary: An extraordinary, captivating mental cliffhanger,as usual
Review: Once again, Todd McFarlane brings to the masses another wonderful installment one of my favorite characters in animation,SPAWN. This particular video has a well written plot as well as phenominal visuals.I was soooo deep into this video that I was upset when it ended. But then again, this will keep me anticipating the next installment...and there better be another installment or myself and others may have to start a revolt!!! Just kidding!!!Keep up the good work,McFarlane!!

Summary: Spawn: Season 3 on DVD
Review: Pretty much all it is. It has a few extra goodies such as some of the music videos McFarlane directed.

Out of all the Spawn seasons I've come to like this one the best. This particular season gets much more into the characters and gives them quite a bit more depth. The story lines are very entertianing and interesting.

This particular season has many shifts in overall mood. One moment in shock over seeing someone get torn apart in graphic fashion and the next feeling compassion and pity for the situation Al is in.

The things that knocked this thing down to only 3 stars is: 1. DVD Menu exhibits unusual behavior on my player, a Sony 530D. The menu background loop has to start over before I can pick anything. Very annoying!

2. The sound seems badly mixed. The music is coming through WAY too strong and makes the dialog difficult to hear. I was trying all kinds of different combinations to alleviate that to no avail.

3. OK HBO, what is up with double sided DVD?!? I own numerous other discs, some of them animated like Record of the Lodoss War (highly recommended!) and they put everything on ONE side of the DVD, eliminating the annoyance of flipping it over.

Bottom line, if you're a fan of the series I would recommend it. I would even buy it again if I were to lose the disc. My only issues are that the disc could have been done much better.
